Yep same thing happened to my husband...he handed all his documents over at POE. So after calling bribing (that is the only way to get things done over there lol) they gave it to a family member that had a copy of his passport picture and k-1 visa that we scanned to them. They finally gave it to them and they scanned it back to us. We then called Dr. Arnold and sent his information, they transcribe it for $30.00 etc. Any questions feel free to PM me.

That's exactly what I did $1000 and $10 . There was no problem. I preferred money order to check because I had heard at the time (before I was on VJ) that they could take a long time to cash them. It was being sent by a secure courier so somebody else getting their hands on the MO wasn't really a problem.

What I did to avoid any mistake on the part of USCIS -- I put a copy of page of the USCIS fee table and highlight the one that I applied for and its designated fee.

Since you already malied it, you can only hope for the best and stay positive.

U can actually also track when a money order is cashed, and in my husband's case a week is like another month being trapped at home. Time is precious!

I am happy to say we are sending off our AOS package on Monday, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that sent a money order. But not just one money order but three different ones that add up the total of $1,010.00, because that large amount can not just be put on one money order. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't a problem! Pray for us!!

I sent that in with my AOS in September 2008 and received GC with no RFE in March 2009.

In response to my request for Packet 3 information, I received an email from the US Consulate in Dakar Senegal that provided me the details of the forms my fiancée must bring to her interview. I noticed out here on VisaJourney that many consulates require the DS-230, but that is not required by the US Consulate in Dakar Senegal. In fact, there seem to be many slight variations of requirements that the individual consulates have customized to meet their respective local situations. That seems reasonable to me. I also noticed that the old version of the I-134 is required to be notarized, but the new version does not. I sent the new version with all my supporting financial information off to my fiancée before I received the email from the Consulate. The Consulate sent me the old version of the I-134 in the email. In fact, the other forms sent to me (DS-156 and 156K) were all older versions of these forms. So, my question is, are they just not up-to-date on their forms, or can an individual Consulate actually require the applicant to submit a notarized old version of the I-134 as well as other older forms?

local websites/processes do not always updated timely.... The consulates have great discretion in determining there own procedures.... most will accept newer forms even if they have not updated there files... once in a while a report of an outlier is posted

Has anyone met a doctor that was able to fill out the medical paperwork for the vaccinations without any evidence of the medicals being done overseas. My husband handed all information (yes even his vaccination record) at the POE and now he has no proof of vaccination. Any doctors that were used that just went by the faith of the word?

So my husband and I are trying to get all the forms ready to send of for AOS and it definetly does not seem easy, but I have you guys so please help me out if you know any answers to the questions!! Thanks!

1. My husband arrived on a K-1 and handed all his documentation concerning his medical report right when he reached his POE. I noticed that he now need to have a 693-A Supplemental vaccination filled out by a civil surgeon, but my question is how will the doctor know that he has already had all the other medicals done overseas if my husband has nothing but his x-rays left with him. He was not given a checklist of what he was completed and to keep for his own records; just the sealed envelope that he was asked to hand over.

2. I noticed that on a couple of the forms they ask for supporting documents like passport pictures now do we just send the 2 that is required from one of the forms or send passport pictures for each for that requests it...which brings it to a quantity of about six.

3. My husband is about getting his social security and that would allow him to take his driver's license test, and his k-1 expires 4/18/2009. The DMV stated they would only be able to issue the licence from when he is approved till the day the visa expires. This sounds crazy to me though..how cam a driver's license be issued only for a couple of months. What did you guys do in a case like this? Did you just wait until approved for the AOS.

4. Also, I am not thinking of including my 2008 taxes because I have not fiiled for them yet and don't want to waste time in sending in the AOS. Is there a particular date or month that is required when you have to start using that tax year when doing the affidavit of support.

5. Did you guys send pictures of you and your SO. The instructions do not ask for any pictures but I was just wondering if I should include it.

6. Also my spouses A# is different on his NOA2 in comparison to what is on his visa. There are 9 digits on the NOA2 and 8 on the K1 Visa....I noticed that they are always misprinting things!!

check this out on the NOA2 my husbands A# is nine digits and on the passport it is 8 digits...how do you know which one to go with when filling the paperwork for AOS?

I thought that the A# is located on the visa. Go pick up your husbands visa and look at where it says annotation; your should see A #1234567 EAC:06-121-52490 PET: HUSBANDS NAME.

Also, if you look at the example forms you will notice that the alien number has been filled out, so it should be assumed that you should have it already before filing the documents.

DO WE NEED TO HAVE PICTURES JUST FOR THE ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS....I DON'T SEE IN THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT WE WILL NEED TO HAVE ANY?

Hey Guys,

So my baby has officially booked a flight for January 13, 2009! Excited as I am...I am also nervous. Ladies, you know how we are, we want everything to be perfect and work hard to make sure it will be. I feel bad one, because I have to work and I really want to be there with him when he i at home so he does not feel alone. He says he understands the nature of the game and having to wait for AOS, but it still gets to me. I would love to hear your experiences the first week you welcomed your SO into your home and how you felt at that time. Am I the only one that is kind of scared. I tell him this as well, because I just moved out here to Georgia and have no other family practically here so I feel as though He and I have to work through everything by ourselve, but I know that will only make us stronger. He worked with UNICEF in Nigeria so I am trying to locate various AID organizations that will be accepting volunteers so he can definetley be busy but allso doing something that he loves. I also will be enrolling in a prepatory MBA exam class so he can prepare for the test and hopefully enroll by the fall. Which brings me to my other question? Have you any of your SO gone to school immediatley coming into the United States. What exactly is needed for them to enter into a University. Do they pay tution on behalf as an international student or just as an out of state student?
