Received the EAD yesterday, 5/7/2009. So almost exactly one week from the status change to "Card production ordered" to receiving the actual card.

Now we can get her SS# changed and hopefully get her a state issued ID card. I'm hoping SS# + EAD will be enough proof for the California DMV that she's here legally. Anyone know for sure?

You need to bring her passport, social security, and Ead and she will be fine.

My card was ordered as well, on may 6th.

You can apply for your social with your EAD not AP.

Just checked USCIS website, all 3 of my cases are on there! Can you believe it? It just says received and pending, but it was last updated 4/30, so we will see. Something is better than nothing, right?

We called the hospital where it was done overseas and they gave it to a family member and they scanned it to us.

We received our EAD yesterday and we wanted to know what is the next step to start working? I believe they stated that we need to go to the social security office and change his social so it won't say valid for work authorization only with DHS Authorization. Also, do we have to wait for the new social security card to come in order to start working. We are soo excited! Thanks for in the input.

I know at our local office, you can do your bio early if you have the appointment letter in hand. For example, my bio appointment was on Feb 18th, I did it on Feb 10th. Maybe you can try the same thing?

Today we had our AOS interview with my wife as my petitioner. But when we arrived there was immediately a problem, it turns out that when I went for biometrics, the government monkey forgot to scan BOTH the barcode for AOS and the barcode for the EAD. Turns out a name check was not completed and now I need to redo the biometrics and have the system scan me into the AOS system when I do it.

So, we filed everything exactly as we were supposed to, made no errors. Yet sometimes you just can't win against inefficient beaurocratic systems.

The officer proceeded with the interview anyway and I think signed us off on that. Problem is, I now have to wait 3 weeks for biometrics 2nd attempt, and then god knows how long before name check completes and I get approval through the post.

Furious right now as have a family emergency but cannot leave country to take care of it...

If anyone has had a similar experience please let me know what happened!

YOU CAN EXPEDITE YOUR AP AND THEY APPROVE LESS THEN 3 DAYS, AND ALTHOUGH THEY SCHEDULE A DATE FOR BIOMETRIC APPOINTMENT YOU CAN WALK-IN AND STILL HAVE U BIOMETRICS COMPLETED EARLY!

Its hard to tell someone which vaccinations they need because everyone is different. Personally I only got (in the USA) Gardisal (because I am a female under 27 years old) . You are 'supposed' to get TB Skin Test also (we skipped that and figured if they RFE us we will go get it done). Shop around, it may be cheaper to get them done at a regular clinic (just make sure you ask for some sort of written/signed & Dated proof that you got it. Many people also use Dr Arnold to transcribe (he charges $30.00 at the time of writing this).

If I were you, I would not get married and file a k-1. your spouse arrives typically faster than a k-3. My opinion, but compare the two timelines. Any further questions PM me.

How were you able to do your Biometrics walk-in rather than go when the appointment was?

Just go early when it opens, and bring the proper form of identification and appointment letter and they will let you in. Everyone has been doing it and thus far no one has gotten turned away.

Yes we did have an RFE for not sending the 2008 tax returns we just sent the 1099 for 2008, 1040 and 1099 for 2007, they wanted 1040 for 2008 which we sent after we recieved the RFE and seems like that suited their needs

You said you filed jointly and sent them the forms and that should be good, dont worry there will be no RFE for you guys na dincase anything comes up we are here for each other to help... am just glad we are not apart from our loved ones now and the wait is easier to cope than when i was waiting for my K1 Visa.

We only sent in 2007 tax returns/w-2 and 2008 w-2s. Don't worry!

So how long after the NOA issue date have you guys seen approximately that the EAD card usually arrives. My husband is really depressed about not being able to work and contribute. SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO MY HUSBAND. WE HAD SOMEONE FROM OUR FAMILY GO THE HOSPITAL AND GET A COPY. HE FAXED HI FAMILY A COPY OF HIS PASSPORT PICTURE AND WE PAID THE LADY WHO ASSISTED US. TRY CALLING THE HOSPITAL AND BEG SOMEONE NICE TO HELP YOU.

I'm just going by this pinned post unless someone knows that I need "a copy that medical check form". It's the clearest info I can find.

"If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693."

I sure hope they don't screw me up again and lose it, if they kept it, and if they then sent it, and if they received it, and if they filed it... ad infinitum.

Yep same thing happened to my husband...he handed all his documents over at POE. So after calling bribing (that is the only way to get things done over there lol) they gave it to a family member that had a copy of his passport picture and k-1 visa that we scanned to them. They finally gave it to them and they scanned it back to us. We then called Dr. Arnold and sent his information, they transcribe it for $30.00 etc. Any questions feel free to PM me.

From what I understood you still need to have your vaccinations transcribed by a civil surgeon regardless if they have been forwarded on to USCIS. You face a possible RFE..because from what we all know USCIS looses documents and never tends to find them. If I were you I would honestly try tot reach out to the hospital where the vaccinations took place.
