  1. I am Gracey's husband:

I just got off the phone with the ITS and yes, we CAN file married/joint AND claim our daughter as a dependent.

A non-resident alien(defining resident as actual presence inside the Us or not) can file for a joint return if married to a USC, even though they have ever step foot inside the US. All world-wdie income will be taxed.

    What is needed:

    1) the current year's 1040

    2)W7 - application for ITIN

    3)notarized copy of passport

4)a statement signed by both spouses proclaiming desire to be treated as a US resident(for tax purposes)

Read Publication 519. Can be found with an internet search.

Why woudl anyone want to do this???

    Use us for example:

    1)Filing Single(even though I am not)..my return is about $1700

2)Filing Head of Household...my return is about $3800

    3)Filing Married Joint with one dependent....about $6200

    HUGE difference!!

So, for those who never considered this, please read and pass along. My CPA was not aware of these last year and we lost out on a couple thousand dollars(thoug I think i can file an amendment to that, but not for certain).

For an absolute answer have your States side spouse call the IRS directly and ask specific question,,,,they are helpful and will give a definetive answer.

  2. Kurt Warner is a good guy...a good God fearing man and has been since he has been in the league. Plus those poor Cardinals have been beat up for over 60 years...So, I am cheering for those Cardinals

Although, I am a New Orleans Saints fan.......GEAUX SAINTS!!!

  3. have you checked into stay in a lakeside bungalo or house? I did alot of research and there are many for rent at very reasonable prices. I had intended on renting an entire lakeside house for only $120 per night and that included meal servicest too. The next time we go, we wil be doing that.

It is our intention to eventually own some property there. It is a gorgeous area and teh views are incredible.

If you decided to take a boat ride to the volcano, be forwarded that the natives who live on the lsland will try to push gloves, maks, and beverages onto you..REALLY hard too. but none of that is needed. Even if you are taking the horse ride to the volcano...its not needed. Don't be fooled.

  4. In regards to the Boat sign in your hubby's face....Grace and I hired a driver and had him stop a couple times and ask their prices. Of ocurse, when they saw MY face, their prices wnet through the roof. We were told of this before leaving QC. They acutally chased down the car with lower prices when we said no. YEs, EXTREMELY persistent.

Sonya's Graden is very nice, but its away from the lake and Volcano. Next time we go I would want something with a view of both.

  5. Shreveport, Ville Platte, St. Francesville........all my former stompin' grounds....enjoy the Cajun culture, which is more close to the gulf coast versus where St. Francesville is. Anyhow, enjoy the southern hospitality.

Any a Did you Know....the first Filipino community in the U.S. was established in southern LA. check it out on Wikipedia.

  6. Thank you Heavenly Father...Grace and Alec will be coming home too me as their VISAs were approved only minutes ago.

Grace said the morning went off without a hitch, as she was well prepared. The CO only asked for email logs...the pre-screener asked for pics. And that was the most of it. She will be adding a detailed thread later in the day..

But for now...Mommy and baby are going to celebrate at Joillibee....Burger Steak for Mommy, Chicken Joy for baby.

  7. HSBC is your easiest solution for a joint account. They offer an on-line account that can be shared jointly and one can tranfers funds from ANT account into that HSBC account. Since HSBC is a large service provider in the Philippines, she can easil withrdraw money directly from an HSBC ATM.

I have done this and it has served as our joint acccount and is a very good way to get money to my wife without ANY fees...such as with Western Union and others.

  8. I am not Canadian, but I am familair with Zanesville. Best of luck to you...have you been there yet? From where are you moving?

  9. I called NVC last Nov. 26 and they said that they did not receive my AOS, wherein our atty. send all our docs (AOS and DS-230 for me and my daughter) at the same date Nov. 21 and was received at NVC on Nov.25. NVC's AVR said that its still awaiting for the AOS of my husband in order to review my packet forms, and in my daughter's case they already reviewed her AOS which got an RFE. Our atty. told me today that he confirmed from the NVC that my daughter AOS got an RFE and my AOS was there and it was reviewed together with my daughters AOS. Are they reviewing AOS at the same time (2 case) for me and my daughter? My daughter is 10 y.o. and we filled up I-864W wherein she is exempted for affidavit of support bec. of Child Citizen ACT. Im just wondering why until now NVC's AVR still saying they are awaiting for my AOS from the petitioner......your opinion is greatly appreciated............

You cannot trust AVR..in fact, NEVER trust the AVR. our case was completed, sent to USEM and AVR STILL said that it had not recieved our case yet. Always divert around AVR and talk directly to a customer service rep.

Sorry, to hear about the REF's...stay strong, chin up....you are nearly through this part.

  10. Pushbrk makes the most valid point...Read the Instructions....it is clearly written that for information that does not fit, that one can add an additional sheet containing this informaiton. But be VERY specific and exact when you do this...refer to the original form, the section, the line you are filing and then, of course, the information you are completing.

But, read ALL instructions in GREAT detail and then.....read it again! Then, when all is done....read it again!! One little slip up could cost you alot of time with an RFE.

  11. All the pain, the money, the time, the sacrifice.....is well worth it. I finally found that one person that God reserved just for me. That other half of my heart that was missing my entire life. I also found the child that I had been longing for my entire life also.

At the beginning of our relationship I fought the feeling. The distance was just too great for me. Seemed impossible to negotiate, but once I exposed myself from behind that wall...I knew that I was going to be with this woman fovever. And at whatever obstacle that we needed to negotiate. It did not/does not matter. I will be with them both.

So, I proceed...guided by love only. And it has become the best decision I have ever made. I would not change one single thing. I am happy with my Gracey....I am happy to be a father, finally. And I long for my family.

I am rambling, I do apologize. I just love them both so much.
