While Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is busy pointing fingers at Barack Obama and suggesting he nothing more than an overblown celebrity, his daughter Meghan is attracting her fair share of paparazzi attention, prompting blogs to suggests it is she who really has her eye on the spotlight this election season.
According to the Associated Press, Meghan McCain was photographed out on the town this weekend with media hungry McCain supporter Heidi Montag.
A one-time intern for Newsweek and Saturday Night Live, the twenty-three year old aspiring fashion designer is said to have buddied up to The Hills star after she endorsed John McCain for president.
In recent weeks, sources say Meghan has become a regular fixture at a number of Hollywood night clubs, even dropping by the trendy John Frieda hair salon in Weho and dining with Hollywood celebs at restaurants like The Ivy.
Meghan McCain has become a frequent fixture on her father’s campaign trail, recording her experience with two of her best friends on the Website McCainBlogettes.
But Meghan McCain hasn’t always been a paparazzi magnet. A grad of Columbia University, McCain caused a bit of an uproar when she publicly supported John Kerry in the 2004 election.
Meagan McCain has since switched parties and said she supports her father’s bid for the White House as well as his positions on global warming and stem cell research.

Thanks, for sharing?
You're welcome...hehehe. Actually, our 5 month old is constipated...does a lot of grunting and poor boy sometimes cries. We called his pediatrician and she recommended beyond giving him prune juice, buying some over-the-counter suppositories. I've been trying to read up on what is possibly causing the constipation...I think it was the introduction of First Foods and rice cereal.
Awwww... prune juice usually does the trick. Good luck.

Dating never really worked for me when I was actively looking, online or not. It just seems to smack me upside the head when I least expect it. Personally, I never saw what was so great about dating sites.
The dating sites were always intriguing to me from a curiosity stand point, but that was about the exent of it. I had 2 friends that swore by dating sites (and eventually married the people they met there). But I couldn't quite grasp meeting online and not truly knowing what they were saying was true. It obviously works for some, and kudos to them, just not for me.

It's great that he is getting out to get fresh air and sunlight. Hope that he continues with what appears to be a very positive attitude.

That group is totally insane. I remember a thread here on VJ about them.
I will try using my search skills and see If I can find it.

So I pose this question... How much do you tip or should you tip a server who gives you horrible service, not due to anything else (like being overworked) but a bad attitude and poor work ethic?
Whatever you want. 15% is (IMO) for barely acceptable service - if you feel service was unacceptable, anything below that.
I feel nothing below 15% is acceptable. If it's that bad, I find a manager. They only make $2.15 (or close to) per hour. I mean think about it... If you are underperforming for whatever reason at work...having a bad day, lets say. Do you get less than minimum wage for that hour or so work. No. They have to live to. And I do understand that they chose that profession.

**off to find "good" boobies for A.J.**

For putting up with the flat iron talk, here ya go AJ
Good job!!!

depends on which one you get. my sister got one that was almost $200. the one I got was $135. they had some at the beauty supply shop for $60. it was like "compare to the chi" by a brand just called generic value product. I would have got that one but they were sold out. I really like the chi because it heats up really really fast and you can put it up to 420 (me thinks) degrees. I don't think you're really supposed to use more than like 350-370 very often at all.
I tried a few before i got the Chi. Including the "compare to the chi", lol. It didn't work on my hair. It is long, thick, and curly. I bought my first Chi at Ulta, for $120 (I think). I didn't know to save the box or receipt (because apparently if it burns up Chi replaces it). This last one I bought online from Folica.com. It was on sale for $79 and free shipping. I didn't get the turbo or the wide. The 1" works fine for me.
Sorry guys...not quite like "boobie talk".

my stylist said the average life of a straightener is 3yrs
Thats about right I guess.
-
i'll try to wash, use the serum while wet, let it dry some and then straighten, just to see what happens.
What kind of straightener are you using?
I have seen the commercial for that one. Curious if it works. But my hair is sooo thick, I don't think it would work for me. This is my second Chi. I used the first one so much it burned out...lol

I've waffled on about this on expats, so apologise for those who have read this before!
I always say, 20% for excellent service, 18% for good service and 15% for adequate. Anything less is an insult, personally. I speak from experience - I'm the evening manager at the restaurant I work in, so I know how upsetting it can be when you've busted a gut trying to be nice and provide the customers with a great dining experience - only to be greeted with blank stares and a pathetic 10% tip.
Also, take in the surroundings when you eat. See how many tables the server is working (if poss), see how busy they are so, if your drink isn't quite filled often enough, you can maybe understand that they aren't neglecting you...they're just really over worked.
Also, if your food is undercooked/overcooked, or poorly presented DON'T punish the server and reduce their tip. That's the fault of the kitchen - who get a wage! Instead, tip the server a decent amount and complain to the manager instead.
Personally, if you're only going to leave me a couple of bucks on a $25 check I'd rather you left me nothing. Our servers get paid $3. Try feeding kids, paying mortgages/rent and utilities on that - pretty impossible.
If you can't afford to add a potential 20% tip on a meal then you shouldn't be eating out in the first place.
This is my philosophy as well... last night, the couple we were out with (work contacts) had no clue on manners or civility. The husband was wanting the server to go back and split the check and wanted to itemize the bill. How embarassing. My husband told the server "no" and grabbed the check. The bill was close to $100. And my husband tipped $25 (the service was excellent). The wife proceeds to grab the check holder (which was rude anyway) and almost had a heart attack. She says she only tips 10% and less if the service is bad. I could have died. She said that if they want more money they should go back to school. What?! I was trying to be polite for my husbands sake, but I wanted to kick this heifer in the shin.
I am glad I don't have to deal with these morons on a regular basis. But I just wanted to know how others felt on the subject.

hey u girls that use hair straightener, how do u do it? do u use any products? do you do it while wet, damp or dry?
i've read about applying straightening spray or a type of cream to the hair when dry. How about using that serum before straightening?
i'm a noob when it comes to this. I've never needed to straighten my hair, but now that's so extremely long the tips get quite not straight
balm before it dries. I let it air dry because I have so much hair so it takes too long to blow dry. I use heat protectant spray as I straighten and then finish with some frizz cream so it stays tame.
I have a CHI as well and I love it! My other straightener took me an hour to straighten. With the CHI it takes me 30 minutes!
I don't know what kind of stuffs you use, but for the last year i have been on a Redken kick and my hair has never been better. The Chi Serum broke my hair off.
