(DairyFarmer, did i do that right? i put you in the March graduates list? i left you down below for a few days to spread the exciting news of your approval.)

Actually I am a Feb graduate - Friday Feb 13th was my interview, but I think it becomes April cause my 6 months is as of the 14th of April expiring 15 October.

Funniest part was the first thing I did was check my passport number on the visa, cause I didn't want to have a stinky monkey issue.

Oh that is TOO confusing. She should have said something? But if she directed him to the courier and didn't give him a 221g sheet he in theory should be approved. Did he see 2 people or 1?

Like the one who took the docs and the second who completes the interview?

I've been thinking of you MARM, hoping 1 set of bureaucracy will get its act together in time for you to deal with the next.

I'm not sure Nessa will appreciate it. But they way it works for us is, the calves are weaned immediately and then the practice is to milk at 4am and 4pm or if you are on a 3 x milking routine 4:30, 12:30 and 20:30.

I have a ticket, I'm flying out Wednesday, still waiting for the shippers to get back to me. In the meantime (today) John has managed to get a date for us to Marry and organised the preacher as well. Friday May 1st.

Well swearing might not normally be my thing, but I think it completely express' my feeling about AP, which as it turns out was actually AR.

Flying out Wednesday morning. Considering I have been packed for the last 8 weeks, it seems like forever away.

We just kept calling DOS once a day. And I had just called the extortion line to get the email code last Thursday along with contacting the Congressman again.

I'm very happy.

Dairyfarmer, did they call you or email you...? The sheet confused me and said they would call me, but the guy told me they'd send me an email.

I think mine was a little different cause when I left the interview they gave me a sheet with a request to send in my passport and the missing police certificate. Remember I was under the impression when I sent it in I was approved. So I had no instructions on what would happen next. I just had to wait.

I got no call or email.

Flying Wednesday.

I hope so. In one sense it is a little anticlimactic but on the other. OMGosh, I am so relieved and so glad to be going home to John.

In case you are not as organised as our dear Magpie, they do sell coffee, snacks etc inside in the waiting area.

I should add the extortion line said they will most likely add the email to your file but will not respond, even though they did in the past. Additionally AP response time frame has been extended from 60 to 90 days.

Oh and a small glimmer of hope apparently I am under AR and not AP according to the USE London. DOS is still saying AP though.

Just hanging in. Not feeling the best of late, however have been averaging 7 miles a day walking, to fill the time. Add to that volunteering at the local Barnados, washing clothes, still leaves me 10 hours a day to play stupid games on facebook.

FYI - The email address is no longer accepting 'unauthorized' emails. I sent a request in and it bounced back saying it was deleted without being read by saying:

This e-mail address is solely for individuals who have been authorized

to contact the Consular Information Unit about a specific matter. This

address is not for general inquiries from the public, attorneys or

agents of record. Please understand our workload does not allow us to

read unauthorized inquiries, but the Embassy has set up several

mechanisms to provide general and personalized guidance.

That's standard. It has always bounced emails back with that reply...since 9/11 maybe?? Sometimes they answer anyway, even though they send that automated reply. And getting the email code is supposed to make sure they answer you.

Actually this is NOT the standard reply, it has been updated in the last 2 weeks. I should know I have enough of the darn things.

I called the extortion line and this is the reply a code gets you.

Your message has been received by the Consular Information Unit. We are

currently averaging three to four days to answer email correspondence.

There is no mechanism for "status checks" while a visa application is

being processed. Inquiries concerning cases which require

administrative processing or background checks, and which have been

pending less than 90 days, will not be answered.

Please do not, under any circumstances, send a duplicate or follow-on

e-mail. Repeat messages slow down our response time, and we reserve the

right to permanently delete all e-mails from senders who transmit repeat

messages or status checks.

We didn't book my original ticket until the courier picked up my passport to take to the Embassy. We thought we had ticked all the boxes and still got bit on the bum.
