  1. They didn't ask me for any additional documents since I sent all the required documents and all originals to the NVC. Only the supporting documents like letters and photos was ask. I got a text message from Air21 that they received my visa on the following day of my interview. So all and all i got my visa on hand in just 2 days considering that i live in Davao City.

  2. the more I learned the more I also learned that I did not know anything at all!!!

Becoming educated is the process of realizing what we do not know.

My gal is a Cebuana, so I need to find something like that for Cebuano, heheh. She always giggles at me when I try to be affectionate in Cebuano with my subpar pronunciation. She also speaks Taglish, but her English is better. When we were in Manila she said it was better for me to talk to the locals in English than for her to use Tagalog. But the locals would just look at her and talk Tagalog anyways, heheh. We had to take turns when trying to communicate something difficult.

I speak bisaya too and i'd rather speak english than tagalog co'z i feel like i sound corny speaking tagalog with my "hard" accent hahaha. It is acceptable to commit wrong grammar in english but not in tagalog.

My husband is learning some bisaya words from me...and everytime he meet people from here he greet them in bisaya. It's cute to get a text message from him with all the visayan words he knew mixed up together just to make a sentence. Sounds like "Barok" the jungle language.

  3. My husband sent me the document package through fedex and it cost him almost $100. 75% of the papers he sent me were useless for the interview. I suggest if you wanna cut down the cost, sort the thing that is NECESSARY for the interview. If you have many emails and letters just pick like 5 of each and don't forget the copy of the Affidavit of Support. On my interview they only asked our letters and photos...but the consul only looked up the photos...didn't even bother to look at the letters. I had 1 kilo of chatlogs and they never even look at it. That is what i've learned from that experience...hope it can help you :)

  4. Not all the time the consul will be asking for letters and emails...but if they're going to, your fiance can explain to them why you don't have those. On my interview they only asked for letters and photos. I only have few letters since we always talk online everyday...the consul didn't even care to read the letters or look at it...only the photos. So i think you'll be fine :)

  5. What I did was I wrote the full name, and USA... i forgot to put the A number and they didn't request for anything... weird huh? However, I submitted an additional letter like 2 weeks after submitting the petition including the A#, voluntarily.

ellmvl, thank you so much! so if the status is withdrawn then that will show up in the system right? You just made my morning bright seriously!

The thing is, I'm not the one that is being interviewed, it is my fiance. My concern is that the current petition for my fiance won't get revoked because of the first petition since it is withdrawn right?

You are welcome. At first i thought they would find out about it when our papers gets to USCIS but we didn't hear anything about it and our papers just went smooth so far up to the embassy. I think on the form I-129 they have a question there that says if you have filed petitions before or something like that...just answer yes and maybe you could attach a supplemental page to explain what happened to that petition. Let your fiance know about it as well so that when she will be asked about it during the interview, she knows what to say. Don't stress yourself about it for as long as it is withdrawn already :) Goodluck!

  6. Are those documents were asked by the church where you are planning to do the ceremony? Since you are already married, all you have to submit is a copy of your marriage contract and maybe a copy of the Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage. If the church is asking for Certificate of No Marriage then explain to them that you don't have those in the states. Anyway, as my experience...we have only submitted the marriage license from the city civil registrar and both our catholic baptismal certificate. Go to the office of the parish to clarify this thing.

  7. Wow if my husband will let me send $400 to my mom and dad every month...they can afford to have party in the neighborhood everyday :D Ok that is just TOO MUCH! I understand about the family support thing since my husband and i have agreed to continue to support my mom and dad when i get there...but to send money behind your husband's back is just questionable. Things like this should not be kept secretly and should be agreed by both parties. This is shameful to admit but it is really common here for people to expect financial support from their family abroad co'z they think that people there have lots of $$$...and because of this expectations, they tend to do everything abroad just not to upset their family. I think if we (filipina) are in this situation, it is very important to talk to our family about our real situation (financially) in the states so that they wont be expecting too much from you...i am sure they will understand that. Less stress...then you don't have to lie from your husband and risk your relationship. Even if your husband is wealthy, still you have to talk and agree about how much it is that you'll be sending to your family in pinas.

Anyway, i agree with the 3 account policy and transparency is very important in relationship not just in money matter but about everything.

You wife is lucky that you are willing to help her family but let her know how you feel about her keeping things from you. Hope you guys will solve this issues in your relationship. God bless!

  8. If you are going to take the K3 route...yes you have to file the I-130 petition first and when you get the NOA1 then you can send your I-129 petition with the notice of action. But based on the processing time now, k3 is obsolete already since CR-1 moves faster now...both petitions get approve at the same time. The only thing that matter is the NVC point, but if you have all the documents ready then you papers will be completed at the NVC sooner. I suggest to stick with CR-1.

  9. You won't need your passport when sending I-130 petition...only your NSO birth certificate, so make sure it is with your correct middle name. You will be needing your passport when you get to the NVC point. The petition will take 2 months or more to be approved so you still have plenty of time to make some corrections on your passport. Relax! ;)

  11. For K1 petition, a simple letter of intent is good enough to prove your engagement...make sure it is notarized. As to your current petition, don't worry about your previous petition for as long as it is withdrawn already. I just had my interview last June 18th and the first thing that the pre-screener asked me was if this is my first time to apply for visa. I told him the truth that it is not. I had 2 previous K1 petitions from my ex-fiance's. It kinda surprised him LOL...well anyway, he looked over my records and he found the 2 withdrawn petitions. When i got to the consul she also asked me about it and the reasons for withdrawal...and i just told her the truth...I was approve...with no problem. So don't stress yourself about it for as long as you have the evidence to prove your genuine relationship with your fiance. ;)

  12. For some countries they require that...but as what i have learned that in US tourist visa they are more concern of the evidences that strongly ties you to go back to your country just like land titles, business permit, employment certi etc. This is just from what i have learned from a friend who have applied for tourist. Let's wait for those members here who have applied for tourist visa.

  13. MY ANSWERS:

Q1. For me, I recommend you filing for CR-1 based on what i've learned from most people here. They almost have same time processing but with CR-1 you can cut the cost and the beneficiary can work sooner if she wants.

Q2. Here's the linkLingChe Shortcut that really help us with our process.

Q3. Just submit the required and necessary documents they need. Be meticulous in answering the forms. If you have some doubts...post it here ;)

Q4. In my case, yep we sent them an affidavits of bonafide marriage since we don't have any other evidence like joint bank account etc. that they were asking.

Last but not the least....Keep your faith in God that everything will go smooth and that He will give you morestrength and patience for this whole process. Goodluck on your jouney!

  14. You are the benificiary right? As what most people here do with their DS-3032 is that they assigned their petitioner (husband in the US) to be their Choice of Agent. If you do this way, then you will have to write your husband's name as the choice of agent and HIS address to where all the notices from NVC will be sent. Then you don't have to worry about the documents getting lost. :)
