    Hi there!

I don't think you are alone in that kind of situation. I read lots of folks here just like you. Anyway, in your case you can take the K3 or CR1 route snce you are already married. It takes for about more than a year to process it. Like you, my fiance then now my husband lived together in the Philippines (Cebu) for more than a year. We decided not to get married there as per advised by his US atty. according to him it is faster to take this route and less paper work. I came here sa US having a K1 visa (Fiancee Visa). It took us almost 9 months since we filed the papers. The process is long and you have to have a strong FAITH and looonnnnggg patience.

I suggest that you read more on this site. U will mostly find your answers to your questions. This is AMAZING and HELPFUL site!

I wished you good luck and smooth journey!

    God Bless!

  2. Hello kind VJers,

Thought I'd finally share our interview experiences, that happened on Aug 27 2008.

We took our photo albums and all appropriate documentation and reviewed together our answers to common interview questions before we went (there was nothing to hide, but we just wanted to be prepared). The only slight worry we had was that we only had one shared account/document, our apartment rental lease. Our banking accounts were not together, nor were any other accounts. Only our apartment lease, which we had brought a copy of.

The interviewer seemed nice and very professional. He didn't appear to want to intimidate us in any way, but was only interested in getting to the truth. And for my wife and I, we were of course a little nervous, but we had nothing to hide, and so were happy to share the story of our life together. He asked how we met, and my wife told the history and I might have added a few additions. He asked to see our photos, and we happily obliged. He then asked me if I knew the name of her parents, I rattled off my wife's deceased mother's name, but I somehow called her father by another 'O' first name. My wife gave me one of those "what the ?" looks and realizing I had goofed, consulted my memory again and did manage to remember my father in-law's correct first name - whew! The interviewer then asked if I had ever met my in-laws and I said yes, and we pointed out some photos where we were all together during a past Christmas.

He asked us about our shared accounts and I related that we only had the one together, the lease, even though we had been living together since we came to the states together in April '06. As I explained to him, it wasn't done on purpose, there just wasn't a particular reason to change the existing accounts to be put in both our names (I pay most of our bills online anyway). I asked him if this would be a problem. I offered that I could change our bank accounts to be in both our names, for example, if that would help the process. He said no, that wouldn't be necessary, and said it didn't really matter. He then said that all seemed correct and in order but that he had to confirm our case with someone else and so therefore couldn't approve it that day. I believe he said that we would hear from them within a week to ten days.

About five days later we got the approval letter. And a couple weeks after that my wife got her green card.

Good luck to all of you, and remember, with love and a little perseverance your cases will eventually be approved.

And thanks to all that shared their experiences along the way and helped quell our doubts in the process.

Peace, love and happiness to all (L)

:dance::dance: Congrats! and Thanks for sharing !!!:dance::dance:

  13. Wellllllll, my Honey asked me to explain, but the name was her idea. We are Doug (me) and Vanessa (her). The name Honeybadger actually means two different things to us.

While watching the National Geographic channel one night we saw a show that talked about the "Honey Badger" in Africa. It is a ferocious little beast that is very ugly and lives in a burrow in the ground. The only good quality about this little guy is that he is EXTREMELY protective of his family, often fighting off predators twice his size & strength and usually winning just cause he is so tenacious. Honey (Vanessa) decided that I was like the Badger in the way that I protect my family. You can treat me badly but never mess with my family!

The second meaning was a combination of the name she calls me (Badger) and what I call her (Honey). Since there really is a "Honey Badger" it seemed appropriate to her, since it defines both of us. She is the sweet one (Honey) and I'm the protector (Badger)

If that was confusing, maybe she should have written this instead of me! :bonk:

  14. There was a man who had worked all his life, had saved all of his

money, and was a real miser when it came to his money.

Just before he died, he said to his wife...'When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the casket with me.

I want to take my money to the afterlife with me.'

And so he got his wife to promise him, with all of her heart, that when he died, she would put all of the money into the casket with him.

    Well, he died.

He was stretched out in the casket, his wife was sitting there - dressed in black, and her friend was sitting next to her. When they finished the ceremony, and just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said,

    'Wait just a moment!'

She had a small metal box with her; she came over with the box and put it in the casket. Then the undertakers locked

    the casket down and

    they rolled it away.

    So her friend said,

'Girl, I know you were not foolish

enough to put all that money in there with your husband.'

    The loyal wife replied,

    'Listen, I'm a Christian;

I cannot go back on my word. I promised him that I was going to put that money into the casket with him.'

You mean to tell me you put that money in the casket with

    him!?!?!?'

'I sure did,' said the wife. 'I got it all together, put it into

my account, and wrote him a check.... If he can cash it,

    then he can spend it.'
