  1. They'll schedule about 5k people, this was in LA Convention Center so it was pretty huge event. Try not to believe anyone that has not been to one of them, they'll might mislead you :)

Wow 5K.. that's a lot of people. How long the event takes? What I should expect in the event? I am sorry to ask you a lot of questions.. I am just curious of this event.

  2. my interview was done first week of august.. just did my oath taking 2 days ago..

    --------------------------------------

Ok Thank you.. Because i heard from somebody that the immigration office have a new rule that are doing the oath taking after the interview. Well that would be nice so we do not have to go back if so. But maybe it is not true or maybe they did not do it yet. Maybe it depends on what state you are.. Either way is fine with me.. Thank you again and congrats for your good journey..

  3. I had mine just this August 21 and it was very easy. I answered the first six questions.. they had me wrote one sentence and read one sentence and that was it.

    Good luck!

Good for you.. Congratulations.. (F) What did you do after the interview?

Good for you.. Congratulations.. (F) What did you do after the interview?

Did you have the oath taking already after the interview or do they schedule if for another date?

interview should be pretty straight.. no trick questions.. as long as you provided the uscis everything that they asks for when you submitted your n-400 and didn't hide anything or lied, you should be okay.. my interview took less than an hour.. civics test are random... relax.. good luck..

    Thank you..

  4. Didn't you get sample questions when you did the finger prints? They've only asked me, What's the title of US National Anthem? Who's the current President? What's the Capital of California? Then they'll ask you to read a sentence and write the same one. I'm not sure if that's the usual process but maybe I just got lucky 'coz the officer that interviewed me was from the same city as I was :) Good luck!

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Yes i have booklet from them and i also printed same questions from their website before my fingerprints. I am just making sure that everything will be fine.. Thank you

  5. Do exactly as the instructions here making sure everything is correct as far as info and excellent organization and presentation - big PLUS, my journey took just over 2 months from the day i mailed the package.

    Good luck.

    Congratulations..

So.. All things to do is just follow what's in the instructions? There's not a lot of requirements there.. not like when we filed the for 10 years GC.

  6. partly, only for those that lost their filipino citizenship through naturalization in another country. Link from CFO website this link lists all the benefits of having dual citizenship.

I appreciate very much for the website you gave and good luck to your journey together with your wife here soon. :)

  7. Lose social security benefits in Pi is like loosing few pesos.

The US wont recognize dual citizenship for her, but in Pi they have some BS dual citizen thing that will still allow her to own land and other benefits.

    ----------------------------------------------

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I will proceed to file for my US citizenship and then go for applying the dual citizenship in PI later.. Have a nice day..

  8. Don't know the fine details, but one of our goals if for my (by then) wife to have dual citizenship then all of that will not be a concern, along with her being able to draw off my social security one day as my spouse.

    --------------------------

I understand.. later on you will go through this.. i am now in the way of renewing my passport which is going to expire soon or getting a citizenship and forget renewing my passport. Good luck for both of our journeys.. (F)

  9. Hello.. I am getting ready to file my citizenship this year. Does anyone knows where to find the reviewer or something to read to prepare for the interview? and the waiting period is how many months from the time of submission? Any help and advice is appreciated. Thank you

Hi.. Thank you very much for the website. Yeah i am looking forward to get an appointment in the Philfest here in Tampa.

  11. I don't really want to drive with David anymore. I've said it before but I mean it more this time. I give up for real.

He is so inconsistent in his instructions, confusing, and then gets mad if I don't comply or if not right away. We are always arguing and fighting when I'm driving. He wouldn't even listen to my explanations of why I did that or doing this (sometimes because it was how I was taught or how the tester told me I should or shouldn't do). He thinks that I'm always just making excuses, not understanding that the why and how is more important than the what in the learning process. Grrr! I explain how I came up with that conclusion or action so he'd understand and explain to me which part of my process was wrong or where it went wrong! Not to be yelled at just to follow orders without knowing why! I am not a soldier and I am a learner so I need explanations. Grrr!

I learned how to drive from a professional driving school and I was driving well and confidently, but that was before I drove with him just before I decided to get my learner's permit to prepare to get a driver's license here in the US.

He also makes me impatient and insecure in my driving, so I will never pass if I'm confused, insecure, and impatient (because I still hear him in my head telling me to go and faster). Even if I generally drive good when I'm calm and more confident, he always stresses me out right before the test, making me very insecure and impatient and confused again. I already failed two driving tests because of one auto-fail from being impatient or indecisive. And now, I just cancelled my driving test for 1:30 PM and went home instead because we had a big fight again and I just gave up.

What frustrated me more is it's difficult to prove to him that he is inconsistent, because he doesn't admit to it or he doesn't remember his previous statements. It's so unlike before when we were still chatting because all I had to do was pull up our chat transcript to prove him wrong... several times.

I'm so frustrated and hurt, and I don't mind much being yelled at, but I hate being told that I'm lying about something when I'm sure that I'm not. :-((

Sorry... Just venting! It's also a lesson for others not to let your spouses teach you how to drive. I should have learned that from the others and refused to do it even if I had to spend more.

    :-(

Hi.. Just be patient, your husband just care for you.. just do your best and you will know later when you know how to drive alone you will appreciate why he did that. It's true driving with your husband is crazy. Have your friends teach you sometimes and have them take you to the driving test. You will get through it. Good luck..
