  1. Hola a todos, no sabia que habia un foro regional. Saludos a todos y mucha suerte.

Nosotros aun estamos esperando la solvencia policial para continuar el proceso. (no somos K1, somos CR1)

    Hola Jaqui!

Estan esperando la solvencia para presentarla en el NVC??? Aun no les han completado el caso??

Quien va a la entrevista? tu o tu esposo???

Yo tambien estoy tramitando la CR-1 :star:

    Saludos a tod@s!!!

  2. Hi all,

Congrats on those interview dates to everyone - this is all so exciting!

Quick question - we have a cover letter for the DS3230 from when we paid the fee and we received an RFE for the DS3230 because we havent sent it in and wont for a while since we dont have police certificates. So when we do have the certificates which cover letter do I use? Thanks in advance.

I sent the bar coded cover (which proves you paid and tells you where to send it) as well as a typed letter listing the case details, our names and info as well as a bullet form list of what documents I had included. The template for this can be found in the Wiki Guides. Is this what you mean?

I guess I forgot to explain that we have a cover letter from the RFE also. So I have one for the fee paid and one for the RFE which cover letter do I use?

  4. Is this going to be more paperwork for us once the interview date is set? Why another DS-230 Part I? By the way, we made sure I didnt' sign Part II of my DS-230.

I'm not sure about packet 3. I thought that if your consulate was an "Appointment Post" NVC collects all of the documents and schedules the interview so a packet 3 is not required. Could that posting on the website be outdated? Perhaps you could post on a regional forum and see if someone has experience with this. It would be good to know.

The DS230 you fill out both parts but only sign part 1 correct?

I'm a bit confused on 'appoinment post' - how do you know if your consulate is an appointment post?

  5. I called this morning and AVR states they are awaiting BIOGRAPHIC DATA PAGES FROM THE PETITONER (ME). What is this? I tried to talk to an operator but the wait time was too long, anyone have any ideas? I'll call tonight but just in case anyone has any insight I thought I'd ask.

I suspect they are referrring to the DS-230/ IV package. Have you sent that yet?

No, I have not sent the DS 230, but isnt the DS 230 all information for the beneficiary (we're waiting for police certificates so it will be a while before we send it in).

  6. Well our 2 packets officially hit the system on the 23rd so I will updat when we get case complete. I'll be checking daily but my question is do I need to ask for a supervisor to get that info or is just the operator good enough?

Do you have to talk to an operator to make sure they received the packet and that it has been reviewed. We sent in AOS packet, and it was delivered yesterday but now how do I figure out its okay - received and meets criteria. Can I check it online where I paid the bills?

  7. Now that I've sent off my AOS packet, I'm wondering did everyone include a letter from their employer? I didn't, my transcripts and return are pretty well above the poverty line and its been steady in the past. I really didn't want to involve my employer and have to let them know the immigration process my family is going through. I hope I dont get an RFE for that.

  8. Mailing I-864 today, is it a problem if I havent received the packet in the mail? I put together the cover sheet and required documents and printed the cover letter...this is enough right? I dont need to have received the packet, although I do wonder where it is.

We paid both fees on the same day and I received the IV fee bill packet on Sunday...I'm guessing maybe the other packets are on their way?

No you dont have to wait for the actual packet to arrive, If you have the fees paid and are able to print the cover sheets then yes you can download the forms and send the packets with all required documents.

    Thank you.

Did you guys put your case number on everypage you sent in? I've heard of ppl getting rubber stamps made with the case number, name etc just to make sure none of the pages get lost. I just ran it through the copier so that it shows on the backside of the page with case number, beneficiary name, and petitioner name. Hope thats okay.

  10. My AOS package was generated 2/07 but I have not yet received it, hopefully today.

Jaqui - What documents were required for the ITIN? My accountant told me I couldn't apply for an ITIN since my wife is not here, but the instructions for the W-7 indicate that I can apply for it.

For ITIN all we needed was his passport. The difference here is we are doing consular processing and will apply for a waiver since my husband EWI.

  11. I included my 2008 return as well. mailed the return off Monday so hopefully it gets to IRS before my I-864 gets processed at NVC.

If you mail the 2008 taxes you need to include the W2 and the 1040 apparently - someone on VJ got a RFE because they submitted only one part of it and said it's better (if you have not filed 2008 yet) to leave it and include 2005, 2006 & 2007. Now they are stuck waiting until they do their 2008 taxes and can produce the other doc for NVC. Just make sure you have the full set if you're sending 2008 to avoid any RFE!

To (hopefully) avoid that problem, we sent in 2007, 2006, 2005 transcripts. I will let everyone know if they ask for more information so others are prepared.

    Good luck everyone.

This is what i was wondering if they would accept transcripts for all three years or does the most recent year you send have to include W2 and all that, but its been a year since so I guess it should be fine. I'll keep up with you OBX.

I filed my taxes yesterday but with ITIN & Stimulus pay I should have to pay it back since I qualified when I received it but no longer do - so I'll wait for them to mail me some type of adjustment before I print out the 1040 and send in to NVC. This can get so complicated UGH!
