  1. I'm against the law , because its far too expensive and difficult for the average poor person to ever make it to the usa. My ancestors came here without any needed approval from the native americans.

If its fair for us to be here, its fair for anyone to be here.

I feel if someone is here , not legally and they are working and have not got into trouble then allow them to be legal and stay

It's pretty obvious from all the other replies here the value of your comments!!!

  2. hello to all i met a filipina last may and i was wondering if i marrie dher in the phil would i still have to renew a visa every 59 days i heard if u was married to a filipino citizen u dont have to have visa to stay longer than 21 days..i know i could apply for perminent residency but i dont want to do that or else i would Lose my SSI pension i would want to return to the stes once a yr for visits...Godbless to all i hope i get some good advice

Why would you loose you SSI Pension???

  3. Because LAX sucks to do as a POE...and there is not a direct flight from LAX to anchorage...she will have to stop in seattle first IIRC. And the price!!! I would be looking at $2500 or more for a one way ticket like that. Going through guam and hawaii makes the ticket a little over $1000.

Non Stop from Manila to LAX is about $900.00 or less Direct flight from LAX to Anchorage on either Alaska Air or American is $248.00 and as a POE my wife got though it in about 45 minutes

  4. Dear fellow group members,

I am trying to get a very small laptop to my wife in the Philippines. Basically, her PC died shortly after I left, it is not repairable. This comes as no surprise, it was acting up for a while.

We have a very young son - he will be one year old in April - and he and I really need to interact over the webcam and voice. I was there for the past six months, until about 3 weeks ago.

I know I could send her money for a laptop there, but they are overpriced, and not very good, for the money. I've priced them quite recently there. Money is also really tight for me right now. :-(

This laptop will be tiny - most likely a netbook - and will weight about 3 pounds.

I can arrange to have someone meet you in Manila, Cebu, or Leyte (my wife and child are in Eastern Samar, but we have family all over).

I am in Northern California at the moment, but I could ship the laptop to anywhere in the states.

If anyone is going to the Philippines in the next month or even two, and could do this, it would be greatly appreciated. I could return the favor at some point, or even manage to give you a bit of cash at this point. Alternately, if you need any advice or information about various places in the Philippines, recommendations of places to stay in different areas, etc., perhaps I could help. I also can build desktop computer systems, and could barter my labor in doing so for you. I am open to other suggestions as well.

    Sincerely,

    Jonathan Rhein

Is it packed full of drugs so I get arrested or shot when I arrive with the package

  5. Hello.

This is Dennis again, Zen's husband.

I'm so sorry that I hurt your feelings and ruined your day.

Please excuse me a million times.

I apologize once more to those whose feelings were hurt for an attempt at humor.

wrong forum, I should have posted this in the Philippine forum, -more sense of humor

    there.

    Still not humorous!!!

  6. I am purchasing a ticket for my wife to fly straight from Manila to Los Angeles. Has anybody here flown that route before?

I was reading Philippine Airlines policies on their website, and one policy is that if the ticket is purchased for the passenger by someone who is not accompanying them, the ticket holder must also provide a photocopy of the credit card used, as well as a photocopied ID of the person who the credit card belongs to.

Does PAL strictly enforce this policy?

Also, it is possible that my mother will be purchasing my wife's plane ticket with her credit card to ease the financial burdon of our travel. My mother has a completely different last name as me, as she is remarried. If my wife were to show a copy of my mother's credit card and ID, would there be an issue regarding the names?

I have a very small time window in which to go pick up my wife and fly her back to New York before I have to return to work (I'm in the Army). I just want to make sure everything is going to go right the first time.

If anybody has any suggestions, or has done this before please let me know.

    Thanks.

    Mark

When I bought my wifes ticket I had to send a faxed copy of my ID and credit card to the local PAL office. You might want to call PAL

  8. It's not about racial divide. To get money for ESL classes, Jobs Training program, etc...Some places has a large portion of Hispanics or Spanish speakers than others. If they are not counted. It'll take years to get a grant to open a ESL school or even federal loans for them open a Jobs Training Program center.

When it's time the US has equal population of this race or that race, there won't be a need to ask those questions.

Why should we have to pay for ESL anyway?????

  9. I would typically use the USPS and that would cost around $13.00 and take around 5-7 days. If you would prefer what I used to do, I would use Microsoft Office Live Workspace. It allows one to store up to 5GB of information, and the other person does not even need to have Word, Excel, or Powerpoint, etc on their PC, and too these documents can be PDF's. You just simply upload the documents you wish the other person to have and they can print, download and even make changes, with you authorization of course to any document you upload. Once you do that you send the person an invitation via email and let them know the password that you have assigned to access the uploaded documents. Its like the other person having access to your hard drive.

Its a little hard to upload a few jars of coffee to Microsoft Office Live Workspace!!

  10. Your fees will be the following:

    1. 1 dozen roses = $60

    2. Box of Chocolate = $25

    3. Her car = $20K

    4. A lifetime of happiness = PRICELESS !!

    What a great Deal!!!

  11. My fiancee was tested for TB (negative) in her home country and did chest x-ray before visa was issued. She arrived in the states about 2 weeks ago and I decided to get another vaccinations for the I-693. They tested her again for TB and said it was positive. My fiancee said she hasn't come in contact with anyone with TB since her last test in her home country.

Does this mean she has TB but wasn't detected during her first test in her home country?

So she was tied up in a plastic bag since her last test. How could she be sure she had no contact after test?
