  1. Hi everyone. The SSN checkbox in the DS-260 form worked for me and my wife. We received our SSNs by mail 7 business days after entering the US. @EB5_lurker FYI
  2. Got it, thank you. When I was going through the border, the CBP officers had a chat among themselves where they were discussing that this is a new feature, and one of the officers didn’t know about it. They were saying it has been working for about a year. That’s why I thought it definitely works. Regarding the informed delivery: No, I didn’t even think that I could sign up for Informed Delivery before receiving my SSN. I’ll try to do it today.
  3. Thank you for telling this. I didn’t know they ignore that box on the form. I was naively waiting for my SSN, thinking it would arrive soon.
  4. It depends on whether you checked the box next to SSN in the DS-260 form. How long did it take them to send the green card after entry to the U.S.? It has been 10 days for me, but the status is still “Immigrant Visa Fee Payment Received.” I am checking on https://egov.uscis.gov/, if I understand correctly.
  5. Under my name (I am the main applicant), it didn’t find anything either, but under my wife’s name it did. The status changed to issued 2 hours after the interview.
  6. Thank you! I probably misunderstood the officer, you are right
  7. I activated my visa at the border. They no longer put the I-551 stamp in the passport. The visa itself now has the annotation SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR 1 YEAR. Next to the visa, they place a regular small blue entry stamp with the date of entry, and that is sufficient for re-entering the border. That’s what the officer told me. Also, a bit about my interview experience: I applied under the EB-2 NIW category. I prepared and brought every possible document with me. I also prepared answers in my head for any possible questions and carefully reread my entire case. However, the officer who interviewed me did not ask anything except who I work as and what I do at my job. There were a few basic mandatory questions, some small talk, and he wished me good luck in the U.S. at my new place. He was very polite. Everyone at the consulate was very polite. The stress that lasted 3 years is finally over. Thank you to everyone who gave advice. This forum is a wonderful place.
  8. @mam521@appleblossomThank you for your answers. I will rely on them if there are any issues
  9. I just can’t find a single official source where it would say that it is valid for re-entry into the United States. It says that it must be accepted by bank employees, employers, etc. but not a word about re-entry. https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/temporary-i-551-stamps-and-mrivs I don’t have a Canadian passport, and when the EB2 visa was issued the visitor visa in my passport was cancelled. So when I go to the airport to check in for a flight I won’t even have links to official sources to show the airline that I am allowed to enter the US. People who have a Canadian passport probably won’t even be asked this question because they don’t need a visa to enter, but that is not my case. Do you have any ideas which official sources could explicitly state that re-entry is allowed? All I see online are some articles on law firm websites that look like they were generated by ChatGPT
  10. Also, did you manage to do it this way? Did the CBP officers stamp your passport and confirm that you can enter the US with it for some time without having your green card yet?
  11. How many days did it take them to deliver your passports? As I understand it, your status changed to Issued on the same day. How many days later did you receive the tracking number from them and the actual delivery?
  12. For those who have already had the interview, could you please advise whether the consular officer prefers color copies of documents or black-and-white ones? I cannot find any clarification on this anywhere. I prepared color copies, but now I am worried that I might also need to prepare black-and-white ones
  13. How long does it usually take after the interview for the status to change? Is it within a day or always a few days?
  14. Did anyone get asked for a copy of their resume at the interview (EB2-NIW visa)? I uploaded mine to the NVC two years ago. Maybe they want to see an updated version
  15. Thank you for the reminder about the I-797 form. It was not on the interview document list and I just printed it and added it to my folder thanks to your message. By the way, does the consulate expect document copies to be black and white or color?
