It's a bit quiet for the April filers this week. Hopefully, more good news comes before the week run out.

Just an update again...we received the welcome notice and the green card in the mail! Surprisingly it didn't take as long as we though. We filed K-1 just about a year ago, and we already have the green card. It's so annoying to wait, but in the end, it seems a lot quicker looking back.
Congrats, no more USCIS for you for another 2 years.

Hi my vj family. We went to our local uscis office here in LA, California to follow up my biometrics appointment. And their sweet response was that they cannot do anything about it since it was just over 30 days. We should follow up on them after 90 days since our filing date. They cannot do anything on it since it's with the National Benefit Center already. In short, we wasted our gas, time and money. Info pass is such a waste of time, I think. all we have to do is to wait for our biometrics appointment letter. Hayayayayayay..
Be patient. You just filed less than a month ago. It really was a waste of time, gas and money for you to have gone.
Thats true, you have to remember that the appointment depends on how busy your local office is. you might get a letter early but still have to wait longer for the date assigned. Be patient its still early days.

It does not hurt to add an attachment explaining the mailing address. We had similar address issues, and I think the USCIS and DOS are probably used to dealing with them. We changed the applicant's mailing address successfully at the NVC/embassy stage.
Thai Mom
I agree with this. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.

When should I start worrying that we haven't been approved yet for his EAD? I'm noticing a lot of people who filed around the same time as us, that have already received theirs in the mail. We just bought a house and kind of need the EAD!
Hang in there, some just take a little longer than others.

question about AP...
I received it in the mail last week and noticed that on the lower left corner of the AP document my picture with a name above it that was not mine....it says "Robert M. Cowan"....was it supposed to say my name? There is also a signature above the name that is not mine....is this normal or did USCIS make a mistake on my AP?
Thanks!
I got the same and USCIS didn't make a mistake I believe. The name and signature that appears above the picture in the AP must be an authorized signatory from the issuing agency. That's what I believe. For as long as you got the right info at the topmost part of the form then you're good I suppose. Any thoughts from others?
Rhosie
Same here. Robert Cowan's signature does get around.

Heliosphan,
That is what I though. but I have not cleared my history or deleted cookies, or deleted history. And sometimes it happens even without me turning my comp off and on.
Hmm, very mysterious..
Clear the cache out now and see what happens
We're gonna need straight jackets in a couple more weeks hahahahaha
I've already been measured for mine!!!
Oh you are streaming ahead, we all have some catching up to do. Ok April filers, make sure you get your measurements done asap.
We don't want anyone being left out or not matching with the rest of us.

I second that !!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WHO HAVE RECEIVED GOOD NEWS.
I have a question, I have not received any emails saying I was "touched", however a couple time the color of my application numbers have gone back to blue (after I have already clicked on them once that day, they turn purple) Does this mean I have had "soft touch"?
Thanks to everyoen and all the BEST
I don't think anyone gets emails about touches as i certainly have not. You only get emails for major incidents with your application. The change in colour probably means you did have a soft touch.

We keep moving. Just wish we would hear about the EAD.
I will take it though.
Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.
I'm sure you'll soon receive your EAD approval. Fingers crossed.

Not necessarily, i don't think you need proof for filing. As far as i am aware, i don't think majority of the people on here sent any additional proof other than the documents requested.

I thought I would share this so that anyone who is in the same situation is aware....
My wife's biometrics was on May 06, and up until June 13 or so we did not hear anything about EAD. I was starting to wonder. But then it arrived that day in the mail. The date on it was June 09, and it was posted on June 10. So if you are waiting for EAD and have not heard anything, it might be that it is taking a little while longer. I still think one month from the biometrics is a safe bet.
Also, in case you made a mistake like I did....when we put together her AOS packet, I forgot to include separate copies and photos for the EAD. So I sent a second packet with cover letter explaining this. That could have been a mistake, because USCIS then issued another case no. for the EAD, as well as a biometrics that was scheduled for later in the month. I took both notices and the appointment letters to the earlier biometrics appt, and they used the one with the later case no, but did her biometrics for it. When we had not received the EAD by 30 days after, I started to wonder if that was the reason. But, everythign worked out.
Congrats on the approval, the time it took for yours is similar to most April filers.

Here is to wishing all April filers more good news this week.

We had an AOS touch on June 17, June 19, and June 20th (yesterday)... What does all this mean? The status has stayed the same throughout and its the first touches we've had that hasn't changed the status... We've already got our interview appointment letter for July 22 back in May..
So what are the touches about?
Probably just preparation for your interview. I wouldn't worry too much.
-
hi everyone....just getting anxious here. My EAD hasn't been touched since after the biometrics appointment. Is that usual? AOS was touched JUne 12...i hope its not another RFE
I was hoping to hear some news about my EAD by next week.....
COngratulations to everyone
It was same for me as well. As English Muffin said we keeping our fingers crossed for you, shouldn't be too long before you get it.

I see that in the guide, it says, "Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here." for the I-765.. But things like the copy of I-94 and 2 passport photos were already listed earlier in the guide.
Does that mean I'll have to provide duplicate copies (2 I-94 copies and 4 passport photos) for the I-765 form, or will they make use of the material already in the package?
Its best to provide the duplicate copies. As some AOS gets transferred to another office. Better to compile documents as if you filing them (each application) separately.

Yay, i got a touch too today. Wonder what its all for. Probably they are gonna start with us April filers. Lets just hope its something good.
Me too... I 've got a touch on my AOS yesterday as well
........ another one today.
but so happy
to see my husband EAD card, he got it yesterday afternoon.
All April filers getting touches, coincidence or something more sinister. Me thinks the other

Perhaps we're all sitting in the same crate and someone has started to work on it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I suppose it's all we can do. Especially when no one knows how anything really works with the USCIS.

Hi our VJ family. I know this is somewhat funny for some people but I'm really having a depression coz it's been 4 weeks already and almost 30 days since we submitted our AOS package and yet we haven't received any biometrics appointment. This is so strange for me coz I've been seeing most of the applicants here who have had their biometrics taken 3-4 weeks after their NOA dates and almost 4 weeks after they filed. I call the uscis almost everyday and they tell me the same answer to wait for exactly 30 days after our NOA dates which was May 24.

i'm so afraid that our case might be one of those chosen unlucky few who would experience delays for no reason at all. So, anybody who experienced such delays on bin appointments? What happened? Especially those living here in LA county?
hoping for your replies soon. Thanks a lot.
Another option might be trying to do a walk in for your biometrics, if i remember correctly someone did that recently. Find out to see if there is a walk in biometrics in your local office. If you have your NOA for the AOS and EAD, take the documents detailed on there as identification.

Congratulations to all those whose EAD's been approved and those whose case has been transferred!!
That's awesome news - means things are moving
Sorry I haven't been actively participating in the thread lately - decided to disengage from my AOS a bit and get myself busy by helping my husband with his work. That way he doesn't have to work extra hours here and there and I feel like I'm doing something
So it's a win-win.
On the news side... Nothing positive - quite the opposite.
Got an e-mail from CRIS last night saying they mailed out an RFE
Now waiting for the mail notice to arrive to find out what it is... Called customer service hoping to find out more, but was told they had no access to specific information (just like I thought, but it was worth a shot)
Sorry to hear about your RFE, might be a simple one and won't be too much trouble for you getting whatever is needed.
