  1. Hello guys, just thought i wold let everyone know Lea contacted me and told me the whole story about the bf.He has been her bf on and off for the past 10 years. Her parents dont like him or aprove of him because he will not work. They had been split up for the last year and when he found out about me and Lea he came back into her lfe.She told me she was so sorry about not telling me the truth.Lea told me she loved the bf and me the same.that she knew the bf could never give her a good life and her plan was she hoped i would have never found out about him as she was gonna get her visa and sneak away from him and come to me and hoped he could never reach her or contact her no more.As hard as it was for me to do i told her im sorry Lea i still love you but you should have told me the truth from the begining.Good luck with your bf hope he makes you happy!

You made the right decision. You love her a lot but you need to love yourself too. It hurts a lot but it will heal in due time. It's your that you wise up and stand for yourself to not accept her. It's not right to continue the relationship with her while she's being with her other bf. Waiting for her visa to be approved so she could escape from her other bf is not an excuse. If she really wants to leave his other lover....she should do it immediately. Why wait?!

  2. What's gonna happen after my NOA2? Can anyone please tell me? I'd appreciate it a lot.

  3. I just have to share this to y'all. I have such a great morning today. I checked my email and I got a mail from cris stating that my noa2 was approved yesterday!!! WOW!!! I can't believe it! I'm so happy I can't wait to tell my fiance (it's 9 30 am PH time... 4 30 am in Iraq) LOL he's still sleeping but dang! I'm so happy and excited. :D:lol::dance:

What's gonna happen after my NOA2? Can anyone please tell me? I'd appreciate it a lot.

    Good luck to other VJers.

  4. I'm sorry that this has happened to you. You just applied for a visa. What you should do is mail a letter to the Embassy with your case number on it (providing you already got your NOA1). Tell them you are withdrawing or that they should stop any action with regards to processing the k-1 visa. You will get a reply mail from the Embassy.

Cheer up. You'll find someone who'll love you unconditionally. Just be glad that you found out the truth. I know it hurts you a lot and right now you still have feelings for her. But you can't let yourself be fooled too.

Good luck and hope you find your true happiness real soon.

  5. Hi guys! I really need your help. Is anyone here who is a single parent but filed for a fiancee visa (I believe it's K-1 and K-2 visa) and is going to take her son/daughter to USA? My fiance applied a visa for me and my 4 year old daughter. Someone has told me that I should need to get an Affidavit of Consent coming from my daughter's biological father even though we're not married. I didn't know that I need it. I would appreciate a lot if any of you could give me an advice with regards to this matter that way I can get that affidavit before the schedule of my interview at the Embassy.

    Thanks!

I wondered the same thing with my Fiancee. My attorney didn't see any problem and from what is listed below the mother has absolute custody of the child. The following are quotes from DSWD's website's FAQ:

CAN A TRAVEL CLEARANCE BE ISSUED TO ILLEGITIMATE CHILDREN WHO ARE STILL APPLYING FOR THEIR VISA IN THE EMBASSY?

Illegitimate children are under the custody of the mother. If they will be traveling with the mother, they are not required to secure a travel clearance from the DSWD. If they are traveling with person other than the mother, they must secure a travel clearance.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ILLEGITIMATE CHILDREN ABANDONED BY THE MOTHER AND UNDER THE CUSTODY OF THE FATHER OR OTHER RELATIVES WHO WILL BE TRAVELING ALONE OR WITH THE FATHER OR OTHER RELATIVES?

Since the mother has the absolute parental authority over her illegitimate children the father would need to secure a Court Order vesting in him the parental authority over the illegitimate children. If a parental authority has been granted to the father, and the minor will be traveling with the father, he is not required to secure a travel clearance. If the minor will travel alone or with someone other than the father, he/she is required to secure a travel clearance.

Thank you for the reply, Jason. My lawyer had told me the same too that I dont need an affidavit of consent for my daughter. I feel so relieved. Thanks again for the info. It's much appreciated

  6. My tampo usually last for hours mainly coz we're too far from each other. At times my fiance and I would just laugh about my tampo coz it was really funny and stupid in the first place. And yes, it is a childish way but in reality tampo is a pinay's way of telling you that she is hurting. Most pinays are not used to confronting you if they feel hurt or when something is bothering them. Unlike most westerners who are very vocal...not many pinays are like that. It's one of the many cultural differences that you'll deal with. In due time, it's either you'll get used to it or she'll learn to be more vocal. My fiance knows if I have tampo or not. He says he can see it in my eyebrow which I am not aware of.

Nobody here knows the true reason why she had tampo to you. Honestly, I won't call it tampo if she has not answered your many attempts to call and leave messages and last for many days. If she won't answer your calls or messages, try to explain to her on email. Tampo don't last for more than 2 days. It would be best to stop your many attempts to call her. Try to give her her space. You have done your very best to talk to her and try to work the indifference. Resolving a problem is a two-way street. You can't resolve the problem on your own. She needs to communicate with you as well.

Good luck and hope you guys will be ok soon.

  7. We hired a lawyer too at Reeves and Associates (www.rreeves.com) charged us $3500 for k-1 and k-2 visa.

Sh*t thats alot of dosh. Hope there worth it at that price.

yeah, it is a lot of money. my fiance is currently working in iraq and he has no idea how to apply for a visa thus hiring a lawyer. now we regret doing it so we learned from our mistake. :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

  8. Thank you all for the responses. I do appreciate it a lot. I was really worried about this Affidavit of Consent.

Good Luck to all of us

This is the answer to your question. hope this helps.

    WHO NEEDS A TRAVEL CLEARANCE?

    * A minor traveling alone to a foreign country ;

    * A minor traveling to a foreign country accompanied by a person other than his or her parents.

WHO DOES NOT NEED TRAVEL CLEARANCE?

    * All minors other than those cited above, for example:

    o A minor traveling to a foreign country with either parent or with his or her solo parent or legal guardian;

o A minor traveling abroad whose parents are in the Foreign Service or living abroad or are immigrants, provided he/she is holding a valid pass such as a dependents visa/pass/identification card or permanent resident visa/pass/identification card which serves as proof that he/she is living with parents abroad and their travel does not constitute child trafficking.

Hi! It did helped me a lot. Thank you so much. It kinda lessen the worries in my mind about the visa.

    Have a great day!

  9. It all depends on whose name is on the birth certificate - if a father's name is there, then you may need such a letter - if there is no name, then either nothing is required or a document from a court is required depending on the country's requirements to leave. Post a little more details and someone can tell you exactly what you will need - many people have done the same. Good Luck

Thanks a lot for the reply. Yes, the father's name is on the birth certificate. The problem is I don't know how I could get a hold of him. I no longer have any contact with him. I dont know where he lives. Last time I heard from him was he is working in Malaysia. That's it. He never bothered to communicate with me.

  11. Kung saan ka nakuha ng birth certificate dun ka din makakakuha ng cenomar. Just make sure na yung sa cenomar ang form na fill-up mo. Check mo sa municipal hall nyo. You can get it ahead of time. Some says it's good for 6 months only. It would take 10-15 days before you can get your cenomar. Keep the receipt too kasi mahigpit ang US Embassy lately coz of fake documents.

  12. Hi. We have the same situation. Although my ex-fiance had told me he'd withdraw the petition. I did sent a mail to the Embassy in Manila stating that I want to withdraw my ex-fiance's visa. I got a letter from the Embassy telling me that the visa had been withdrawn. I don't know if there would be a problem with our present visa application. Keep in touch and Good Luck to us.

  13. haha Thanks, for now we have to wait until Friday, if they did not received our papers by Friday we will do it on our own and cancel the lawyer and we'll just think that we lost $500 (lawyer's fee), good thing I sent two copies of everything (it has a purpose hehehe)...

We'll keep you posted on the next episode of our funny yet frustrating I-129F filing with the lawyer...

What has the lawyer done for you so far? If he hasn't received your paperwork, maybe you can be issued a refund for part of what you paid. I paid $2000 for my attorney and regret that decision daily.

Did your attorney request that you pay the petition fee to him or did you make the check out to the USCIS? If the check was made out to the USCIS, I would cancel it and chalk the attorney up to a loss and continue this process on your own with the help of fellow VJ'ers. One thing I discovered during my wait for an approval is that I want full control of this process and due to hiring an attorney, I do not have any control.

Since your fiance has a copy of everything, I would file the petition yourselves.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you paid a whooping $2,000 for the lawyer. Philippine time, yesterday our lawyer e-mailed us and he finally received our documents and it was sent to CSC, and it made us feel good somehow because all the while we thought we lost all the documents we sent them because it took a week before they received it but the fact that we sent it in priority meaning 3 days. Check was payable to USCIS.

We were actually thinking of doing it on our own but since the lawyer already sent it yesterday, we'll just keep positive about this lawyer thing. In fairness with our lawyer, so far he has not done anything that made us feel mad yet just that the process became slower.

We'll update you more on our journey together with the Lawyer hehehe!

Best for all of us. God bless.

Hi Jeff and cloie. We hired a lawyer too. www.rreeves.com It's good that you paid only $500. We paid ours for $3,500 (that's for me and my daughter). That's for lawyer's fee only. We paid for delivery fees, fling fees, etc. They havent done much really.

    Good luck to us
