  1. It's 11 am now and we just got back from the interview. We were scheduled at 7 am but we arrived at the Embassy at 5 30 am. It was pouring rain. We didn't bring any umbrella so my daughter, fiance, and I went straight to the gate. The guards were really rude. We practically begged them if they can allow my daughter to go to the waiting area for shelter but they refused it and told us in a rude manner that we're not allowed to go inside (not even my daughter) and that we should step out coz we were blocking the way. My fiance was really pissed off coz they were so rude and inconsiderate of the kids who got wet coz of the rain. We ended up buying 2 umbrellas from vendors outside the Embassy (cost P150 each). We walked to the waiting shed where we met Jomay (MrsArtis). She was so kind to put some of my stuff on her bag as we were carrying a lot and we are so wet from the rain. Around 6 10 am, we decided to proceed to the gate but was told that they still won't let us go inside. We met Relyn, her son, and Patrick who were waiting outside too. The guards keep telling us to go further and just wait to be called.

Finally, they all allowed us to go inside at 6 30 am. We got our number and waited for finger print scanning. K2 don't need to be scanned. They just ask you to show them your son/daughter. Mely was with Jomay and Relyn. During the pre-screening interview...the lady asked me a lot of questions and what happened to my previous K-1 visa application. She took some of the money remittances, chatlogs, emails, pictures, and took my fiance's W2 form, ITR, and affidavit of support. After 15 minutes, my number was flashed again for the interview with the Consul. The female blonde Consul was really nice. She speaks tagalog and was really friendly. The interview lasted for just 5 minutes but most of it was just to talk to my daughter. She's enjoying talking to my daughter and they were all laughing at her. Then she said, "Well, everything seems good now. All we need to do is to verify if you're not really married. Just wait for your name to be called."

Once my name was called, the guy gave me a pink slip and asked me to pay at Delbros. (P310 each applicant)

It was really a nice experience. It didn't took us long to wait for the Interview. I got to meet other members of VJ too. They're all very nice. I wish we spent a little more time with them but my fiance's still pissed at how we were treated by the guard. Haaayyy!!! They don't have sympathy for all the kids who got wet due to the heavy rain.

REMINDER: Make sure you pay your visa fee prior to your interview date. The lady in front of me didn't pay her visa fee so she was instructed to go to the bank to pay for it and if she's not back before 10 am. They will re-schedule her interview after 3 months.:wacko::blink:

Good to hear that your VISA Journey is about to end with the coming of your VISAS!!!

    Congratulations!!!

    Happy trip soon!!!!!!!

Hello nimfa. Thanks a lot :) At last nakahinga na ako ng maluwag :)

I am sorry to hear about the rude guards. They should be considerate of your child getting wet. Also about your reminder, there are really a lot of applicants specially those who are not member of forums like VJ who don't know the "what-to-dos." It's sad she's re-scheduled.

You deserve the biggest CONGRATULATIONS! You did your best and quite glad everything went well inside USEM

Thanks a lot Ryan/Riza. Yes, it's sad to know that our fellow kababayans are really rude. A lot of kids are already wet and they don't care about them at all. VJ has helped a lot. I'm glad someone has told me about this site.

    Take care

Lady and Pink thanks talaga :) y'all are really nice

  9. hmm,.,. there price is cheap ,., i think we will use them na rin :D kasi my husband wants to bring ALL our wedding gifts that we received nun wedding namin ,., eh ang dami nun so makakatipid kami dito hehe :D

Oo sis sobrang mura dun. kaya nga nag thread ako nito kasi baka kako may ibang VJ members na nagpadala na through manila forwarder. nung tumawag kasi ako sa kanila noon ilang beses ko sila ask kung talagang ganun lang charge nila at yung weight ba may limit. meron daw silang jumbo box at wala daw limit. try ko ulit tawagan sila

thanks for this sis ,., i'll call them later din and ask if they accept fragile stuff kasi husband ko gusto dalhin yung mga plato and glasses na regalo sa amin . sabi ko nga iwan na lang dito pro ayawa nya kasi may sentimental value daw yun hehe.

  10. I just called Manila Forwarder today. Their jumbo box is from 35 to 40 kls lang. So if you're stuff is more than 40 kls....compute na lang daw nila yung excess weight. I also asked if they can give me an estimated or exact amount on how much I'll pay for my stuff (assuming it's 40 kls) from Manila to Fort Myers,FL.

Manila to LA (by sea 1 month) = $109

LA to Fort Myers (via fedex) = $68

    -------

    $177

They'll keep reminding you that food, any liquids (shampoo, lotion, perfume, conditioner, etc), and A LOT of cd/dvd/vcd are not allowed. Also, they told me they'll give DISCOUNT kung sabay-sabay magpapadala. but they wont give discount if magkaka-iba ng date sa pagpapadala.

  12. Hello Cranky. I am a client at Reeves and Associates too. My interview is on June 23. Look for Attorney Flomy Diza. He's a filipino lawyer based in SF. He is very accommodating and will help you and your fiance with her visa. I had problem with RFE and we were past the due date. The lawyer was able to fix it and USCIS continued to process the application. Tell them you got referred to by client M-1205. They will really help you. Please tell your fianc ethat they have an office in Makati.

  13. Thank you so much sis, I'll call them tomorrow, one more thing na lng, forgive me for my ignorance, saan tayo bibili ng box sa kanila ba?...thanks ha

Sunday bukas. Not sure kung makakatawag ka. Try mo din. Meron silang Jumbo box.

Siguro kahit saan ganun ginagawa.

Hehehe. Sana may discount tayo sa kanila pag VJ member. LOL. :thu  mbs:

  15. Hi! Probably some of us would want to send our stuff prior to our departure date coz we have a lot of things to bring and would want to take them with us when we go to US. :) Others will send their balikbayan box through FEDEX or DHL (which we all know are way too expensive). Others will send it through POST OFFICE. Has any of you sent balikbayan box or has anyone of you heard about MANILA FORWARDER? So far that's the cheapest and they have no limit with the weight. I called them and they told me that food and any liquids are not allowed to be included in the box.

Yan nga din problem ko 'cause I have to send a lot of stuff since I'll be leaving na this June, may I know the number of that Manila Forwarder? Thank you very much.

  16. I am also considering Manila Forwarder kasi dalawang cabinet ng libro ipapadala ko and for sure mamumulubi ako if I'd send it via FEDEX.

I hope people who have tried it could share their experience sa Manila forwarders.

Sabi nga po sa akin they don't have a limit with regards to the weight as long as you won't include any liquid (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, perfume, etc.), dvd/vcd/cd. Maliit lang ang charge preo you have to call in advance so they can schedule when to go to your place. It would take a month daw po bago ma-deliver sa US. Also, kelangan taga US talaga yung padadalhan mo. I-deliver nila yun sa bahay sa US mismo. Hindi daw pick-up sa office nila. Also, no charge daw once na ma-deliver.
