of course,yes.
Our interview was scheduled for 8:00 AM at the USCIS office in San Jose, CA. We arrived about 20 minutes early, but it's worth noting that if you come too early, the security guard may not let you in right away.
We first showed our appointment letter to the guard, then went through a security screening similar to what you experience at an airport. A quick tip: wear socks with your shoes. Everyone is required to take off their shoes during screening, and the woman ahead of us had to walk barefoot because she didn’t have socks.
After security, we went to a second desk where we submitted our passports and the appointment letter again. They gave us a number and asked us to wait in the lobby. We waited for about 15 minutes. An officer called my name and asked my husband to wait outside — the interview was going to be conducted with just me. I was informed of my right to have an attorney present and confirmed that I was okay proceeding without one. The interview itself lasted about 20 minutes. Most of the questions were standard security-related questions. Toward the end, the officer asked for my phone number and current address. Then she asked how we met. Again, I was not required to show any documents even tho I brought a big bag of papers and pictures with me.
At the end of the interview, the officer told me I was approved. However, she handed me a paper saying my case was under review. She explained that even if you’re approved, they need to give you something in writing before you leave.
Then I went home, relieved that it went well overall!
