It took close to 2 hours from when we arrived to when we left. Does anyone know the process of reporting someone to the State Medical Board?

Update: Decided to just go to the clinic on Monday because we were getting nowhere with them on the phone. I brought printed pages off the CDC and USCIS websites and I highlighted all relevant parts, I even brought my laptop with me. When we got there I explained how we were told I needed 2 doses but the official guidelines and recommendations say I need 1, at which point I showed her all the papers I had. I asked if we could see the Civil Surgeon and she said he wasn't in at which point I mentioned that we were told on the phone that he would be in on Monday. I said we paid $300 and either we get our money back or we get the services we paid for done correctly, the woman at the front desk tried saying we already got services so there would be no money back. She wasn't having any of that until I mentioned filing a complaint with the State Medical Board. She took some of my papers and left. After a small wait the CEO came and talked to us. I pulled out my laptop and walked him through everything starting from the USCIS website to the CDC website to the ACIP recommendation that go back to the CDC website where it finally says in clear letters: 1 dose. He had no counter argument and just said he will have to talk to his team and the Civil Surgeon that actually was there, the woman at the front desk had lied to us. After an even longer wait the CEO came back and directed us to a room in which we waited until the Civil Surgeon joined us. He asked what the problem was as if he had no idea and I told him how I only need 1 shot instead of the 2 he asked for. The started saying how he knows the requirements and it's actually the ACIP who makes them and it's 2 doses. I pulled out my laptop in front of him and opened the ACIP recommendations website that clearly shows 1 dose for routine vaccinations and he refused to look at it. He just kept saying there's no need for me to show him and would not even look. He filled out my I693 and did not mark my MMR as complete but wrote "1 dose documented" which does nothing for me and was still incorrect. I forgot to write my A-number on the top of the pages and I asked if I could do that really quick, he left the room so I had time to write that and review the I693 form. When he came back I mentioned that he filled out the vaccination part wrong and asked to have the CEO present in the room with us. He quickly changed his tune, took the Vaccination portion of the form and left the room to redo it. He eventually came back with it done correctly. I reviewed everything to make sure there were no errors and then I handed it back to him to have it sealed. We got our sealed envelope and copies and went on our way. An absolutely exhausting process. Sorry for the really long post, we are just glad to finally have this whole thing behind us.

Small update: Called on Wednesday and asked to speak with the Civil Surgeon or the Nurse. Eventually the Nurse called back and we said that we were told we needed 2 shots by the Civil Surgeon and we checked the CDC Website and it said 1. She said she will talk to the Civil Surgeon because he knows the requirements and give us a call back. None of this actually makes any sense since we called to say that the Civil Surgeon actually DOESN'T know the requirements that he is supposed to follow. Thursday: no call back or anything. Didn't call them as we had plans. Called today, I mentioned the same thing. The woman at the front desk said that if the Civil Surgeon is requiring 2 shots then 2 shots are needed. I mentioned that the Civil Surgeon is working under USCIS guidelines and they point towards the CDC Vaccination Requirements which specify 1 shot. She told me the Civil Surgeon is actually not in today but he will be in on Monday and I should try calling then. I have a feeling they will be very difficult to deal with. Just to be 100% sure on everything I called the CDC info line before calling the clinic and I was told that only 1 dose is required unless the individual is at high risk. The high risk scenarios were the ones listed earlier in the thread regarding students, people that have HIV, immunocompromised people in the household, and international travelers 2 weeks prior to departure. None of which apply to me.

Already on the second Civil Surgeon. The first one was a disaster. Unfortunately it's 4 hours to the closest nearby Civil Surgeon so these trips are not easy to make. Will try to make it work with the current Civil Surgeon and see what happens, unfortunately I'm not very optimistic. The problem is doctors rarely like to be corrected, even when they're wrong. It's the principle of it that bothers me, if you say something that is wrong and I can point you to the official guidelines that have to be followed that show you're wrong, you should just admit it. Most doctors just double down. The USCIS and CDC websites clearly state that only 1 dose is required unless there are special circumstances, which don't apply here. Called the clinic today, told the nurse we were told we needed a second measles shot but the CDC website says only one is required, she said she will ask the doctor because he knows what's required. That makes literally no sense considering we just said he was wrong according to the CDC website.

The special situations are as follows: HIV, Students in postsecondary institutions, household or close contacts of immunocompromised people with no evidence of immunity to measles, mumps, or rubella; and international travelers. None of these apply to me. The definition for international travelers by the CDC is as follows: I couldn't leave the country even if wanted to, my K1 visa was only valid for 1 entry and I would not be able to return to the US. I don't plan on applying for advance parole since I have no plans on traveling anywhere in the near future.

What you quoted is not relevant at all to the question asked. The question asked was how many doses of Measles are needed for the purposes of immigration. It seems you don't actually have a clue.

At the time of my overseas medical I had every single vaccine except the last 2 doses of Hep B. The Panel Physician marked it as B Blanket Waiver for insufficient time interval but did not mark my DS-3025 as Complete for some reason. She marked it off as "K Visa applicant electing not to get vaccinated at this examination" despite me having all the required vaccines. From what I understood researching it online, as long as my DS-3025 does not have "Completed" marked off on it, it doesn't matter that I have all the vaccines required.

Just had my immigration medical today, everything went well except the civil surgeon mentioned needing a second dose of the Measles vaccine which I was unaware of. He didn't say MMR, he specifically mentioned Measles. The panel physician at my medical in my home country didn't mention anything and marked my one dose of MMR as complete on my DS-3025. Would appreciate it if someone could point me towards any official guidelines that show how many shots are needed for the Measles vaccine/MMR

Just got a bill in the mail from the clinic for $333 for blood tests. When I called to make the appointment nothing was mentioned about this. They said $250 for the medical and extra for any vaccines required. I even called again a week later just to double check the prices and that's all that was said, $250 for the medical exam and extra for required vaccines. When we were physically there nothing was said about this extra cost, they just gave us a paper and told us to go somewhere to get the blood tests done. Is there anything that can be done? The clinic has all calls recorded so my call to double check the prices should be easily proven.

Just got off the phone with the clinic, they claimed the envelope was sealed correctly when it was sent out. They refused to say anything about them not sealing correctly according to the instructions. They are saying that for a fee of $50 we can send back the envelope so they can reseal it. Incredible.

Called the Civil Surgeon clinic and they told me to e-mail them pictures of the medical envelope. I did as they asked and I am waiting to see what they see. Again, just to give context, the envelope containing the medical was not sealed properly according to the I-693 Instructions

I can only e-mail since I am in the U.S. right now but I do not think they would fix it. It was long ago and I do not think they would react positively to me contacting them after all this time to say they made a mistake. Even if they fixed it, USCIS has the original DS-3025 so I'm not sure how that would work out.

I have not called about the envelope as we got it late on Friday and it's still the weekend. Going to call on Monday but I do not expect any kind of help. I have called the clinic a dozen times since the medical and they have refused to help or do anything at all. I only got to talk to the people at the front desk and they seem uninformed about the procedures and instructions for the I-693 form. I was told to e-mail the assistant nurse all this information since she should know more but the only thing she did was call my wife and said "Your husband sent me a very long e-mail but there is nothing we can do since the envelope has already been sealed and sent out". It seems they are just refusing to help or even talk to me anymore so I am not expecting anything at all. I am in the process of AOS-ing, my DS-3025 was not marked complete even though it technically was so now I have to go through a civil surgeon. My DS-3025 has all the required vaccines with a B Waiver for the Hep B as there was no time for the last 2 doses, however the panel physician did not mark it as complete and told me to get them. I now have the last 2 doses of the Hep B, would it be possible to just send the DS-3025 in the AOS package with the proof of the 2 doses and a paper explaining the situation? I am just trying to find the best possible solution in order to AOS and not receive an RFE to further prolong the process.

The I-693 arrived in the mail along with the copy. The envelope for the I-693 is opened in a corner, is that normal? The I-693 instructions say USCIS will return the medical if it is altered in any way. And the doctor's initials are over the seal when the instructions say they have to be under it, is that correct? Also the Civil Surgeon wrote "No documentation for Mumps and Rubella provided" but my vaccination record from my K-1 medical is literally in the documentation at the back showing MMR. Is this not a HUGE mistake? If the Instructions say K-1 visa holders are eligible to do the vaccinations part only, are they not breaking the rules? I am not talking about the prices, I'm just simply saying that they have to follow the instructions and the instructions say K-1 holders can skip the full medical. Unfortunately there are only 6 or 7 civil surgeons in our location so the options are limited, would have to go out of state for anyone else. I don't mind paying for the full medical as long as everything is done correctly, which it was not.

Does anyone know what the official procedure is to file a complaint towards a civil surgeon? There are limited options regarding Civil Surgeons in our state and we picked the closest one to home but have had an awful and really stressful experience. As a K-1 I only needed the vaccine history transferred and I ticked the box on my I-693 form and told them but they had no idea what that was and made me have a new medical just so they can get more money. They refused to transfer the vaccine history from my DS-3025 saying the United States Government does not accept this document. They had no idea what it was at first and then they "called" someone and came up with this answer. I have pointed them to the Department of State and the CDC Websites as well as the I-693 form Instructions Guideline that make note of the DS-3025 document but they won't budge. They also managed to screw up my I-693 and not mark off MMR but only Measles because of a misunderstanding with my family doctor vaccine record after they refused my DS-3025. I got an updated vaccine form from my family in my home country and I called them before they sent out the form and let them know but they just sent it out anyway. Now they are refusing to redo the I-693 and correct their mistake. Have called multiple times trying to explain and resolve this but they are beyond unprofessional and incompetent and I do not use these words lightly. Just to be clear, we will most likely using another Civil Surgeon and getting a new I-693 but I still want to file a complaint. I have everything needed on my DS-3025, she waived the other 2 doses of the Hep B but I got them later, she just marked it wrong for some reason instead of saying it was complete. Wouldn't USCIS just see that I have everything needed for complete the requirements?
