  1. flying to Thailand this week. I have a question for the group. Anybody have recent experience entering DFW point of entry for K1 visa? Just curious how long it took, and what is the best strategy. What I mean by this is I am concerned about my fiance' getting lost. Also concerned about baggage if things run long.
  2. The DHL package arrived this morning, Saturday, 6/28 at 1130am Bangkok time. We have our visa and the immigration package. That is amazing considering we had our interview on 6/24, so that is really only a few days to get the Visa issued and sent by courier. Thank you everyone here for helping our dream come true. I already booked my flight for July 23 and she will enter the USA on August 1. Feeling very blessed. So happy.
  3. you were correct, if you were the petitioner filling out the form on behalf of your beneficiary, you only need to sign and verify you are fluent in english. Page 4 can stay blank, no need to write anything. One page 1 at the top, the latest version of the form tells you to skip Part 4. It sort of threw me as well at first. We completed our interview and it was approved.
  4. again, experience can vary. If I were in this situation, I would renew as just because you get your NOA2 in the mail saying that your petition is approved and will be sent the DOS/NVC - it can take weeks before they receive it in and enter into the system and create your case number which will be based on the embassy at which you will file. For example mine was BNK2025XXXX. I kept sending inquiries every other week after waiting a few weeks, did the email update suggestion as well, then I think it was around 5 weeks or so, I got the case number, the packet 3 and 4, and the K1FTP which listed the embassy, the original petition receipt number (WAC) and instructions on next steps. Then I was able to create the profile in USAtraveldocs, pay the fee, schedule the appointment, and start putting together the timeline for getting the police background check and medical. these all took time and I had to do them in order as she needed to start her vaccines, then go get the police check, we paid an expedite fee and got it in about 5 days, then once you have this we were able to schedule the medical. The police in Thailand will not start the paperwork for you until they see you have an appointment and case number and the confirmation of appointment, and the medical exam will not allow you to schedule until you have your case number and police report. So there are many timings that you need to factor in. Hopefully there are some folks with recent Japan experience.
  5. status changed to issued, hooray
  6. CEAC status today, Approved...I think the next step is Issued. Then soon she will have her passport and Visa.
  7. I would let the masters weight in, but while you are waiting for your NOA2 I think you would be ok to renew your passport. You can also communicate to NVC once you get your new passport number, and send a note to inquiry while inquiring about your case number. At that time you can also tell them to update your email, and inform them of the passport renewal and change. I would think you would want all of this done before you get your case number assigned, and start creating your next package that you will send to your beneficiaryfinace' My fiance had to renew her passport, we just brought both into the interview and had copied of the old and new and mine. You would use updated information as you still need to file your DS160, pay your visa fee, schedule your appointment, get your affidavit of support together, etc etc, Lots to do.
  8. Interview occurred last night due to time zones, at just before 9pm we received the good news. congratulations, your visa is approved. the interviewing officer was very nice. They liked how we organized everything and created packets with cover pages that conveyed what was in each package. We are very excited. CEAC has now moved to application received, so now waiting for the status changes and the passport to make it back to her in 1 to 2 weeks, the sooner the better. Since I have to go and pick her up, this is going to be expensive airfare.
  9. Medical exam is complete, she was able to pick up her sealed package on Saturday, the process only took less than 4 days. She did need 1 more MMR shot, which I thought was odd as she had just had one from the clinic, but could be due to all the measles stuff that is going on in USA now. The hospital also let her know that she was good to go and that there were no issues with medical. So another step is complete. We just have the interview next Tuesday to get through, but this should be fine as she has been prepping and have all of the paperwork in order. This will be a long week as we are eagerly waiting the words, "you are approved, congratulations" Good luck to everyone else who is going through the process.
  10. we continue to make progress, vaccination appointment was today and medical exam tomorrow. still on target for embassy interview on June 24 and all documentation has been reviewed and put in order fingers crossed!!
  11. So it took some time (about 4 or 5 weeks) before the NVC gave us our case number after the NOA2 was issued. Once we got the case number, I went online, paid the fee, did the DS160 and got the appointment confirmation. The medical exam in Thailand requires the Case Number and a Police Clearance for background check before they will accept your appointment. So we needed these. My Fiance' also did not have records of her vaccination, so she needed to essentially start over. She was able to go to a travel clinic that was familiar with what is required by the CDC, got a first round of shots, then went back a week later, then again 1 month later. This will leave her with 1 more shot to get at 6months, but she can do it here in the USA. We have booked the medical exam a few weeks in advance and have the appointment scheduled for next month on June 11, our interview is June 24, so should be plenty of time to get the results. She will have her vaccination third round the day before her exam, so should all be good to go there. Just make sure you check the requirements of what is needed to schedule the exam.
  12. Still waiting for our interview but here is what I provided. Tax Transcript Company Offer Letter with Position and Salary Last Couple of Months of Pay stubs Print of statements from both Fidelity 401K/IRA and Charles Schwab investment account Summary of Account statement from Chase that showed account open date, average balance, current balance. Signed by bank officer.
  13. With the 2K THB expedite fee, we were able to get the Police Clearance in less than 7 days, she recieved a message yesterday with a copy of the document saying it was ready for pickup. I think that was about 5 days, which is great for those who are up against a time crunch to get all their steps in place before the interview.
  14. thanks for the above, I have the english and thai version saved, and I printed the Thai version that explains the process and contains the checklist and sent it in the package. It arrived actually a bit early, so she was able to go to the police station today and file for the clearance. Also, she was able to pay an expedite fee of 2K THB to ensure that she gets the document back within 7 days. That was a good bit of news this morning. Still a bit unhappy that the vaccine doctor will not administer the next in the series so she can schedule the medical exam, but I did read that the hospital is open for those appoints on the weeked as well, so maybe it will not take too many days to get the medical exam back before June 24. She cannot get her next series of vaccines until June 10th, and I have asked her to call ahead of this date and request an appointment for medical on June 11 in the morning. This will give us about 8 working days. I have also asked her to emphasize that she needs the results and sealed envelope back before the appointment date, ideally by the 20th in case I have to reschedule which would be terrible. We are so ready for all of this to be done and our approval granted, but today was a win.
  15. we just included photos of each other, we had many, i included about 4 screenhsots of conversations from Messenger, two letters of intent to Marry within 90 days that were both original signed, passport stamps from our passports showing entry into the country and when we took trips to Laos and Vietnam. I included a short narrative of how we met. Our application was accepted
  16. oh and yes the plan will be to use Bumrungrad hospital. I am curious if they still do processing over the weekends and maybe we can get some days back this way. Sincerely crossing my fingers here and praying for good luck and somewhat swift processing.
  17. Yes, Big Buddha holiday over the weekend and into Monday. Today she went in for her second round of shots, which included the first round of the HEP shots. She tried calling the police station today and sending email, but no one was picking up the phone so she will go in tomorrow when they first open and get the process started. I will let her know about possibly asking to pick it up in person to expedite. We tried to also see if the doctor would give her third vaccine a few days early but he said no, and now she has to wait until 10 to get this vaccine. I have asked her to call the hospital and set her medical exam for the 11th. This only gives us 8 working days for her to go and pick up the completed packet as her interview date is the 24th. I am trying to decide if I should just go ahead and send a note to visabkk@state.gov to see if there is another interview slot available may in the next week after June 24, maybe first week in July. I read that you need to send this 2 to 3 days early for reply, This is all turning into a mess. I really do not know what to do.
  18. this is a great thread and lots of information shared. I updated on my thread as well, but figured I would mention that for some reason today when she went for her second round of vaccinations, the hospital was closed, so she has to come back on Tuesday of next week. She will call on Monday to try and get an appointment at the Royal Thai Police on next Thursday. I am hoping that we can get this back in 10 to 15 days as it puts us dangerously close to the medical exam needed date and giving time to get the packet from the hospital. I read before that BrandonJT was able to pick up the packet within 3 days, I am trying to leave 10 working days for worse case. The delays in processing are concerning. Is there any expedite fee that you can pay for the police report? Hopefully it comes within 15 days and then she can go to the hospital and show them the interview date and request that her packet be ready before that date. fingers crossed big time. I am already starting to bite my nails.
  19. Documents have been sent to her via fedex and will arrive on Tuesday of next week, 13th. 300 Bucks to ship them and get them by Tuesday, crazy expensive. She went for her second round of vaccinations, but the clnic was closed for 4 days and nobody called her, typical. So she will try to also get that done on Tuesday. Got all the translations done, now just waiting for the package to arrive so she can then go to the police station ASAP to get the police background check an report started ASAP. I am hoping that this can be done in less than 15 days, not sure if they allow for an expedite fee. Last question, is the police report required for the medical exam or just the vaccinations, identification, and the confirmation of appoinment and DS160? Any advice?
  20. answering my above question, what I have found that as long as she has started the series for all her required vaccines, then she should be ok for the medical exam. Others have been very helpful on the forum, I am just concerned about timings on getting items back that are required for the interview. So again, I need to lean on the experience of the group in Thailand. 1. Learned that it is taking up to 15 days to get the Police Report back after filing. 2. Advice online is to book medical exam 10 to 14 days from the interview date to ensure that the results are received in time I was under the impression that the doctor would give the sealed envelope at the completion of the blood test, exam and review of immunizations, so I need some advice here. I am sending all of the documents to her this week and she will go and get passport photos done likely on Friday, the day of her next set of shots. As soon as she gets her DS160 and Interview confirmation, she will have what she needs to go and schedule the police background check. Should she try and just schedule this ASAP? And it is June 24 that is her interview date, the NOA2 expires on June 25, but I am not worried about that considering how much time it takes to process and the Embassy is aware of this.
  21. thanks for the great information. I am still not very clear on this part...copy of the passport. What I am not sure of is the copy, just a copy of the information page with photo, or does it need to have pages with stamps? I pictures of her old and new passport information page so i can print that in color for her and send, else she will need to go and make copies before her appointment with the Royal Thai police.
  22. I scheduled my appoint for June 24, but there were slots available late May and early June, it is just not enough time to get everything done while she is working. Her boss is actually a friend of mine, so I let him know that she will need a number of days off this month and next month and would likely need to go back to part time. He is very understanding and pretty much said we would work through it all together. Thanks for the advice above.
  23. oh and I grew up in Montgomery AL...went to Lanier High School, haha. They closed it recently.
  24. i was told that she can go to any district amphur, like the one in Asoke (i think) and they can provide an english translation of her birth certificate. Her single status, she already has the thai and english versions. worse case, I retain a lawyer service in Thailand and can have her go there and get it done the same day she takes her updated passport photos. Thanks for the update on getting the police report back, we will adjust when she goes to give her more time to receive it. For passport copies, is this just simply a scan of the first page of the passport? I can do this, or does she need to have all pages or pages wtih stamps. will keep you posted.
  25. Not sure if you saw on my other thread, we got our case number, it is a BNK number. I was able to get the DS160 done, get my AA number and confirmation page. Then go into US Travel Docs and create a profile for Yui, enter her information, pay the fee and I was able to schedule the interview for June 24 so she has enough time to get everything ready. We are using the thai clinic you recommeded and she will be able to go in and get 3 out of 4 rounds of vaccines before her medical exam and interview. About the police report, I am looking at what you need to bring, passports, 2 photos, the confirmation of appointment with embassy and case information paper work. What I am not sure of is the copy, just a copy of the information page with photo, or does it need to have pages with stamps? I pictures of her old and new passport information page so i can print that in color for her and send, else she will need to go and make copies before her appointment with the Royal Thai police. Any experience on the forum?
