  1. Is this gonna effect the visa process?

The guy's divorce is still on going and he met this girl online and they seem getting along well. The guy is now planning to go the Philippines to meet her, actually he is about to book his plane ticket soon. Is this going to be a problem that he is meeting his gf in the Philippines while his divorce is on going?

  2. He met this Filipina girl on Cherry Blossoms and was really ready to go the next level on their relationship. He hasn't meet her in person yet, but his planning to go visit next year. If everything goes well, then he will start the process. His main concern is his planning on filing bankruptcy too. Will this move affect the immigration process when his girlfriend over?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. ROC filed March 14, 2011. Approval notice September 15, 2011. GC was mailed October 13, 2011 according to USCIS and according to the tracking number it was delivered but I never received it. USCIS said that it may have been lost in the mail and I need to file an I-90 for the replacement of my GC with a filing fee of $450...Oh my! This is ridiculous. Anybody who encountered this problem?

  4. Hi everyone

I am leaving for the US soon and unfortunately I am not a very good cook. I know for sure that I will miss Filipino food and so I want to practice cooking it! I know I cannot survive on just pizza, burger, mashed potato and pasta, I need my rice and meats! Fortunately, my fiance also likes Filipino food (especially chicken dishes like adobo, afritada) but he wasn't a fan of sinigang which he found too sour, and also he doesn't eat cheese!

I was hoping we could use this thread to post tried and tested recipes, I know there are many online but I would to try a recipe that people can vouch for. And also, what filipino food does your USC husband enjoy?

    Thanks in advance! :)

Hubby loves lumpia, pancit bihon, bistek tagalog, fried rice, pork barbeque and pancit canton..lol..He never get sick and tired of this stuff. Like your hubby my husband loves Filipino food too. When I don't cook we normally go to a Chinese buffet and pretty much eating there is like dinning in the Philippines

  5. Hello All! I am here in US almost 4years now. I wanted to ask pertaining to my passport of which expiring soon and still "Green Passport". I got married in Vegas with which under the jurisdiction of Los Angeles Consulate, but I am residing since then in Florida with which under the jurisdiction of Washington Consulate. I wanted to report my marriage and amend it but i dont want to travel all the way to California just to do it. But the good news is, there is an outreach in Tampa in April 2011.

So please anyone gave me an idea what first thing to do? i ask so many filipina here in my area, but they can't give me definite answer since most of them are US Citizen already, and seems dont care

Should i report my marriage first, and then attend the outreach and amend at the outreach? am i correct?..pls help!

I am also a green passport holder and you should be able to renew it anything. Green passports are now obsolete but still valid til the expiration date. If consulates do an outreach, you should send your paperwork ahead of the scheduled outreach. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they wanted to have all your paperwork on hand. As some other members said, you do not need to amend your passport anymore since you are renewing it. You can check on their website though. Good Luck

  6. I doubt it makes any difference. My wife also had her mother as a beneficiary on the list, besides me. You should just look at it in a different way, what if you actually get into an accident together with your wife, then at least the money doesn't get lost as your dad gets the money. My wife, however, changed the life insurance form recently to add our daughter and I'm unsure if my mother-in-law is still a beneficiary.

No worries, as long as you're on there, you should be fine :)

Thanks so much. This is a great help.

  7. I will sending my packet by March for my removal of conditions. One of the evidence that I will submit is a plane ticket . We made a trip back to the Philippines this year but the name I used was based on my passport which is my single name to avoid hassle during the travel. My question is, would they wonder that I have used my single name than my married name. Has anyone tried submitting this kind of proof. Please help me guys.

  8. Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with my problem.

I am currently residing here in the states. Now my problem is, my dad's death benefits are in and checks are payable to me. Is there anyway my mother could in cash my checks in behalf of me? Should I execute a Special power of Attorney? Is a SPA from the states recognized by the bank in the Philippines? Please help me guys. Thanks in advance.

  11. thanks frosty and somedaysomehow... i noticed today and yesterday, i am so sensitive to my partner's tone and way of speaking. i didn't like how he said "Good night" last night and today, I just cried all of a sudden when I said "Huh" in the car. I didn't hear what he said. Sabi nga sa Pilipinas ay bingi ang buntis hehehe.. but when he repeated what he said by yelling, I just cried.

sana may kasabayan din ako dito na buntis din, or if not.. hingi hingi na lang ako sainyo ng advise mga mothers. thanks sa pag-welcome po sa akin. good night.

Naku ganyan din ako dati, yung level ng tapururot ko ay to the max. I was very sensitive sa lahat ng bagay buti nalang asawa ko eh hinahabaan niya pasensya niya sa akin nung buntis pa ako..hehehehe..Hopefully your hubby will understand your situation and if you can help it, iwasan mo nalang or divert your attention to something else..Pero ewan ko ba,kapag buntis talaga sala sa init sala sa lamig ang feeling..

Sana nga may kasabay ka kasi halos lahat ata ng buntis dito eh nanganak na...Good luck sa pagbubuntis mo.

  14. We are travelling back to PI next month and I have some questions too.

    1. If you don't have that "Tax Exemption Certificate" how much tax you need to pay?

    2. Does my husband and baby need to pay the tax too?

    3. At the same time we are also travelling around Philippines that means we also need to get that Tax Exemption Certificate at every airport?

Thank you guys, hope somebody can help me.

Sis Evelyn just got back from the Philippines today and for your questions:

    1. Travel tax is P1,650 but you can get a tax exemption certificate for only P200. Got it so quick and it was a very easy process. Just go to a travel tax booth, present your passport, gc, mc and the P200 and your done. Got it the day before our flight to the states.

    2. The husband and the baby need not to pay for the travel tax.

    3. Nope, this only applies on your flight going back to the US.

Hope it helps and happy trip and enjoy Philippines..

Btw..always request for your baby's bassinet on the plane, it does help a lot.

  15. @RR, meron pa. He needs to have Renal Ultrasound when he turns 6 months old and that is this coming 17th na. We are praying for negative result.

  17. May tanung ako, emergency yung pag-uwi namin ng Pinas kasi namatay ang Papa ko. Isasama namin ang baby namin who is 4 months old. May required ba na vaccination na kailangan niya upon entering to a foreign country. Kasi di namin naisip yung pero makukumpleto na ang kanyang vaccination bukas then ang flight namin is sa SUnday na so kulang na talaga kami sa oras. In need ko bang dalhin ang kanyang vaccination record and is there really a required vaccine sa baby bago magbyahe..Please :help: :help: :help: :help:

    Pink - salamat ng marami

    Happy - salamat
