  1. We got the GC early, came in the mail today 😄 It's a relief that this leg of the immigration journey is over, now my wife's life here can really begin haha. It's been almost exactly a year since I filed the I-129F, and I really appreciate all the help I've received from this community! See y'all around in 2 years for ROC! Also how long does the SSN take to get delivered after EAD and/or AOS approval? I saw on Reddit that approved AOS applicants are still getting their SSNs, so I'm wondering how long we should wait until we make an appointment at the SSN office in case it doesn't end up getting sent to us.
  2. Yeah, I just got an email from USPS with the tracking number. In transit and expected delivery by the 14th, so your guess was right. We also got notified that our I-765 case was closed due to another benefit (AOS approval). Not gonna complain that we kinda wasted $260 on nothing since we got the GC so fast but it still sucks 😅 At least we didn't apply for AP, I guess lol
  3. Card was produced 😃 We got the notification pretty late, almost midnight lol, weird. No tracking number available though. I expect we'll get it delivered this or next week.
  4. Case status is marked approved! Less than 2 months from receipt date, we are so happy and still in disbelief how lucky we got... Just in time before 4th of July too, how fitting lol. Our interview was yesterday, we went on a nice long stroll in the city afterwards since the weather was nice, I recommend doing that for anyone coming in for their interviews from the 'burbs. Stop by a bar for some beers to celebrate too 😁 Appt was at 9:45 AM at Chicago FO, there weren't many people ahead of us, maybe like 3-4 people were called until it was our turn, I'd say we waited like 10-15 minutes, which is much faster than I expected. The interviewer was a nice young lady, glad we didn't get a grumpy one. We were sworn in and asked to produce our IDs and passports (I had both and my wife only had her foreign passport, interviewer said that was OK), the interview notice, and the certified marriage certificate (which we were given back.) We also mentioned that we got an updated medical since the overseas was missing some vaccines so the sealed envelope was opened and scanned in. Those were the only documents we had to provide physically, the rest was uploaded online (of course, we still brought physical copies to the interview just in case). The interviewer said that since we already did a K1 interview we won't have to go through bona-fide marriage evidence stuff, and just asked us how and when we met. Then we moved on to the I-485 review, asking the standard Qs, like were you in any orgs, are you a terrorist, etc. The only one of note was that my wife was denied a tourist visa (it was just a standard denial) so she was asked the details on that and it was updated to include the reason, and the update was signed by my wife. We did mark it as "yes" on the application, but the system wants details at the interview apparently. We were also asked who the joint sponsor was. And that was it I think, we were told that the case was approved, that we'd get the GC within a month, and mentioned the removal of conditions process. My wife asked some questions (I don't remember what her Qs were exactly) but interestingly I remember the interviewer checked and responded that the case was not being held for review (we were not given the sheet either) and that we can expect an approval status that day or the next day. And that was it, interview lasted like 20 minutes maybe. So we were in an out within 30 or 40 minutes. The craziest thing was that when we were escorted out by the interview, she asked if I had a sister (I do) and that she used to work with my sister somewhere many years ago, small world! 😂
  5. Interview is tomorrow morning, we're prepared and hoping for the best. What is appropriate attire for these, business casual? I doubt we wanna be wearing too formally or too casually.
  6. They still do it for I-485 applications though, right?
  7. The packet I submitted only had the DS-3025. But then I found out vaccinations weren't correct so we went to a CS for a I-693 to avoid a medical RFE at the interview.
  8. Nice. We got the I-693 sealed envelope today, everything looked good. We did get a copy as well, not sure if I should upload the copy as evidence on the USCIS site.
  9. Also I got two duplicate interview notices in the mail.. Not sure what's up with that. One envelope said it was from the National Benefits Center and I don't remember if the other one was as well.. The receipt, dates and content are the same and there wasn't anything new on the USCIS website.
  10. I paid with separate money orders ($1440 for I-485 and $260 for I-765) and it processed the cases successfully, I think that USCIS expects three separate G-1450 forms for each application instead of one. Someone else might know for sure though. If the I-765 doesn't get processed but the others do you can file it online later at least. I guess you'll find out what happens soon.
  11. Yeah I looked around on Reddit for civil surgeon recommendations around Chicago and one of them was near us so we picked it, def a reasonable price considering they don't accept insurance. We didn't bother asking around for partial examinations cuz they probably all follow standard procedures and don't wanna mess around with not doing the full thing (even though they can) and probably just want the full fee lol.
  12. Did the medical today, not only did my wife not get the Polio vaccine at the overseas medical for the K1 like she was supposed to, she also didn't get the right tetanus shot there (needed t-d-p but only got t-d) SMH... Really dumb that this wasn't taken care of at the overseas but we didn't know at the time. But whatever, we're getting the sealed I-693 in a few days and now we won't have to worry about a medical RFE at the interview at least. Fee ended up being $270 plus vaccines (we did them at the exam) were $130 at the clinic we went to.
  13. Awesome! I think we got really lucky lol. Will we even get an EAD at this point? We concurrently filed the I-765 but idk if they'll bother doing the work auth with an interview pending...
  14. Ugh that's so lame. Is the partial I-693 enough or should we just do the full medical? Also once we do it should we upload it to the USCIS site as well as bring it to the interview?
  15. Wasn't expecting this so soon, we only got married like over a month ago so I won't have a huge amount of evidence. Also, I'm uncertain if we'll need to do a medical exam here, my wife did hers overseas before the embassy interview and has the completed vaccination sheet which we submitted with the I-485 but I know there's some weird thing with Polio which was marked "not age appropriate" on her vaccination sheet. So idk if we should schedule a medical appointment now or if we're good with just the vaccination record for the AOS interview
