My wife's interview is scheduled for second week of July. Our case was completed on May 6th. I just hope that she doesn't have to go throug AP now.

My case at NVC was completed on 5/6/08. Can someone in similar situation please comment on when I can expect the interview to be scheduled. My case will be sent to an Appoint Post consulate so NVC will schedule the interview not the consulate.

NVC reps keep saying that they schedule interviews in 2nd week of the month and mine may not be included, my case was completed on a Tuesday so I think it should be included.

How long has it taken for interviews to be scheduled recently?

ISL doesn't set interviews. Maybe they did in the past but ISL is now an Appointment Post meaning NVC sets up the interview and sends your file to ISL. I believe this process is faster as far as scheduling the interview goes.

My file at NVC was just completed, I will let you know when my interview is scheduled.

Hey Salaam to all the fellow Islamabad filers. I've read through some of the thread (can't read all of the 369 pages). But anyway...I'm an Islamabad filer obviously. Right now my case is still at the Cali Service Center. Submitted it in Feb 2008. Just been reading about how slow Islamabad is to get the packets out and set interview dates.

Basically, I'm going through the K-1 visa. Planning on bringing my fiancee here in March or April of 2009 (Insha'Allah). Hopefully by then she'll have her visa and everything.

Is everyone pretty much going through the admin. processing/name check. I am a USC and my wife is in Pak. What are the chances she would be selected for name check? Her interview hasn't been scheduled yet but probably be in July.

I am sooo happy my case at NVC has been completed. Now I am wondering when the the interview would be scheduled? My case will be sent to the Islamabad consulate which is not considered a standard consulate for visa processing. I think they call it appointment post or something like that.

I knwo NVC will schedule my wife's interview and send the file to ISL.

I spoke with NVC rep today, she said they schedule interviews in second week of the month for the following month and I would not be able to get on June list but we are still in the second week and my case was completed on 5/6.

Any idea when the interview could be scheduled? I really don't want to wait until June for it to be scheduled.

A lot of times NVC reps give you standard answers, so I am hoping that my wife's interview could be scheduled for June.

Could someone post a link to Islamabad forum if there is one.

I had the same problem. You are probably using internet explorer, security settings could cause the issue. You can use Mozilla Firefox browser and I think it should be ok.

One other solution I discovered recently, you can also use Microsoft Word. Just type in your case number and change the font. Font is called Barcode

Hi All i am trying to create a barcode with James Shortcut but when i click on create barcode it does open a new window but the barcode does not appear. Can please someone walk me through this if they are having any luck using the barcode.

Can someone please let me know when they are able to get through today. I have never had a problem before, I always call early in the morning and can talk to an operator or just check automated system.

I have been calling since 6 am. I keep getting the message that all of their lines are busy but when it rings it tries to go to the operator but then just disconnects me.

Are you guys experiencing the same thing?

Phone is not evein going to the automated system. I don't really need to talk to an operator, just want to check status in automated system.

Mononoke28, I will wait for the automated system to be updated. I will wait unitl it says that my DS-230 has been generted.

But my question is should I wait at all to send my docs using James' shortcuts after automated system has been updated?

So lets say if tomorrow 4/29, NVC's automated system says my DS-230 was generted on 4/28 should I mail my docs same day or wait it out for couple of days?

Thank you, I'm suprised myself...everything generated for me in less than a weeks time...before I was crying to my hubby saying that this is taking sooo long...now I'm laughing with my hubby saying I can't believe this is moving so fast...now i am just waiting to receive his documents for the DS230 part that he mailed to me...oh i just can't wait until this done...

Does NVC care what envelope you send DS-230 docs? I know NVC sends an envelope with DS-230 packet and they want you to return everything to them in that envelope.

Since I will be using James' shortcuts so does it matter what envelope I send my stuff in?

I just want to make sure I am using the right cover sheet from James' shortcuts. I know for AOS packet, the coversheet doesnt' really have much on it and its a separate page from what's sent to me from NVC.

But for DS-230, in James' shortcuts I found that coversheet that would be sent back to NVC is also the address page NVC sends me. Is that the correct sheet.

I found an old DS-230 coversheet in old instructions of James shortcuts which was exactly the same as AOS packet, only the form names were different.

So the correct coversheet for DS-230 is the one with NVC logo on top left?

I have all the docs, pictures and everything. I was just wondering how long should I wait after NVC's IVR systems says my DS-230 is generated? Should I just mail it the very next day, wait a week or so?

I am glad there are more people now with IIN. My IV was mailed on 3/24, I got it on 4/7 but just waiting for few days, maybe online system would be available soon. I hope waiting pays off.

I think I will wait until 4/13 Monday, if its not up I will have to mail payment b/c dont want to delay processing, you guys agree?

It seems like they are really close, b/c they are giving out IIN over the phone now.

I called last night, they can't give a date when the system would be activated.

No its not on the payment stub at all. Atleast not on the one I got. My guess is that they would be sending new payment stubs with the invoice number very soon but since its available I wanted to the online feature right away.

I keep trying to pay online, still haven't been successful. I spoke with NVC reps couple of times, they keep saying its not activated yet but don't know when it would be.

I think I m gonna wait until Monday, hopefully payment system is activated by then.

Can you confirm if the Invoice Number they gave you on the phone is also the number in the extended barcode area on the IV fee bill.

That's what I expect it to be... If NVC is giving it out over the phone now (that we know what to call it), that would be just great!

I am able to login and see the outstanding IV payment, I was able to enter my bank info but when I click submit, I get a message that online payment system is not available.

If this system will do what they say it would, it may reduce the timing by 2-3 weeks. We won't have to wait for money order to clear and wait for the DS-230 title page to be mailed. We should be able to print out the DS-230 page from the website.

I am still waiting for someone to say they have sucessfully paid online. This is very new from NVC so some reps don't know that this system is available. I think they still maybe working on the bugs of this system.

I am gonna hold on to my IV bill for couple of days and if its not up and running then I ll just mail the payment.

NVC is now accepting IV fee bill and AOS bills online. I tried to pay IV but keep getting an error that payment system is not available.

Just wanted to know if anybody has been successful in paying their bill online. I believe this is something new that NVC introduced not too long ago. I just found out about it today.

Some NVC operators are still saying that the system is not available yet.

If payment goes through, you are able to print bar-code page for DS-230 from the website. Has anybody been able to do this?

NVC's IVR system says that my IV (immigrant visa fee bill) was generated on 3/24, it has been 2 weeks I still haven't received it. Does anybody know of any techniques that would allow me to mail just the money order without NVC letter?

I don't want to delay my process but I am also very upset that I haven't received it in 2 weeks. They won't re-send it to me unless it has been 4 weeks.

Have you guys ever seen anybody's fee bill taking this long?

Hi guys, I am filling out I-864 and wanted to know how to count my wife to figure out the household size. I am the petitioner so I would count her as a beneficiary but there is a box for spouse also.

So should I just count her as a beneficiary and leave the spouse box blank because I shouldn't count anybody twice?

I don't have any dependents so should it just be me and my wife as a beneficiary? If I count her as a beneficiary and a spouse I would be counting her twice.
