  1. I believe NVC automated messages are updated on Tuesday and Saturday.

    Hello,

Does NVC update the messages on the recording once the status changings for the case through out the day? If not, when do they usually update the message? Every night or morning?

I know that the USCIS updates the status of the case, once it changes on the website through out the day.

    Thanks

  2. Congrats! I think you are okay. If they were going to put her in AP, they would have said something about 6 weeks and they wouldn't have given her a date of 7/10. I have seen people take either 1 or 2 weeks if they are not in AP. There is nothing in-between. When did she have her interview? You can count two weeks from that date and she should have her passport.

My wife's interview is on 7/10, I would appreciate if you can share your finance's experience at the embassy.

Was she given an option to pick up the passport in person?

If she is in AP, it should also be indicated on the pink slip.

Please share as much details as possible, there are several people on this forum with July interview dates.

    Thanks and Congrats again!

  3. Aisha,

My wife's police cert was good for only 90 days as well. I have asked her to get a new one. If your husband has a copy of the first cert it shouldn't be difficult to get a new one.

I would strong recommend getting it because by the time of the interview his cert is no longer valid.

My wife tells me I worry too much also but better safe than sorry.

I really don't see a reason for getting another copy of police certificate. Embassy has all the original which were submitted to NVC, and embassy would return all the original on interview day to the applicant. So, I don't see going through the hassle of get the duplicate of police certificate. Police certificate is valid for 6 months if it's more than that then I see a need for a police certificate.

I understand that but my husbands was only good for 90 days!!!!

He will be calling embassy to see if that would be good enough, he said I am worrying to much

  4. Aisha,

Your husband should get the P.C again just in case, they may not ask for it but he should have it with him at the time of the interview.

He should also get another original B.C. It should be easy if he has the registration/B.C number. He should be able to go to the local municipality or NADRA's office and provide them with B.C number.

Under 'interview preparation' section of state dept's website, they do want the applicants to have AOS docs ready so yeah I would send him the AOS docs.

    thanks for the feedback,

I know my husband's P.C. expires this month, so should he get a new one ( just in case asked for it)? He told me how difficult it can be to get this police certificate. I hate that for him and all the other husband/wives, but what can we do?

Also is it possible for him to get another orignal B.C?

Honestly speaking.......it is a bunch of ####### that they would have to take anything else with them to interview. Due to that we have sent them everything and it should be in front of them at the time of the interview, but who are we.........We have to do as they ask of us or that will prolong us being away from our families :(

One more thing..........since I already sent in our AOS papers and everything along with co-sponsor info, should I go ahead and get that to Qasim as well??

What else do they want from us???????

    Thanks again

    Aisha

  5. I don't think July 17th is too early because they won't give him the report until a week later so he should have it few days before his interview 7/31.

I did have my wife get another copy of original B.C. We also had another original of M.C. If his police certificate has expired, he should get another one.

My wife got her police cert. on 3/13 and it was valid for 3 months so it would be expired by the time of her interview 7/11.

According to state dept's website the only thing he should need from you is the AOS docs and the interview letter in case he never receives his copy. He should be able to get everything else on his own from Pak.

    Hope this helps!

    Salaam

I asked my husband to call and make an appt for his medical. He has it set for July 17th. ( I hope that is not tooo early)

So, we got that taken care of, but now I am wondering about something else.....?????

I got our interview letter in the mail yesterday and it has the list of documents that were sent to them, but it also says >>>> even if we sent NVC orignal documents, they also need to be brought to interview :o WTH?? What should I tell my husband to do??

Please tell me what I should do now?? Does he need to try and get another orignal copy of B.C and what about a fresh police report.......everything else we had another set of orignals like our marriage certificate, so help please!!!???

What do you think I should be sending to him??? Other than pics and stuff.........NVC has everything else that was asked from us......please any advice or help.......thanks

  6. Visit this link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html.

As far as civil docs go, I submitted the following:

    * Birth Certificate

    * Marriage Certificate

    * Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

    * Police Certificate(s)

On state dept's website it says that if your documents are not in English they could be in the native language of the country you are applying in so I didn't submit marriage cert. in English and the birth cert. was already in English.

So don't worry about getting your docs translated in English and getting them verified. They want all original docs.

If you are not sure if something should be translated call them, the reps will tell you.

    Hope this helps!

  7. Have you tried talking to an operator? Their automated messages are only updated on Monday and Sat I believe so they may have processed your paperwork already.

Congratulations Aisha on ur husband's interview!

rest of the ppl, how long does it take for an rfe to be entered into the system and for the automated msg to change? nvc received my missing documents previous week on tuesday and there is still no change in the automated msg.

    thanks

  8. Thank you so much!

    Hi guys,

Can someone who has gone through the interview process at ISL explain how it works. My wife's interview is scheduled for 2nd week of July.

Whats in the interview package that NVC sends to the petitioner and applicant?

How long would it take for me to receive my copy here in the US?

Do they send you a list of approved doctors for physical?

What questions were asked during the interview?

I have already paid the visa fee here so would my wife have to pay anything at the embassy?

Has anybody been issued a visa on the same day as the interview, assuming no AP?

I am really hoping that she would not be put on AP, hopefully they are easy on females, she has never traveled outside of the country either so I hope that helps.

    Thank you so much!

You can check this link for information concerning the embassy: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...p;cty=Islamabad

As for the information concerning the doctors, please check the attachement. Also, check NVC's website for information concerning the preparation for the interview etc.

You can also browse through this page: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Pakistan for reviews on how others had their interview and some of the posts are descriptive and helpful.

I hope she goes through the interview smoothly and is issued the visa right away. Keep us posted please.

hope this will help you and others,

    Sara.

  9. My wife's medical will be in Lahore, I called on 6/3 and they gave me an appointment for 6/17 so he should make the appointment soon. They also said that they will take 1 week to prepare the report. He may have to pick it up in person or have have it sent through TCS or some other courier service.

He should call the clinic where he wants to go and get an appointment, who knows how many they have scheduled already. They will tell him what he should bring. My wife was told to bring interview letter, passport, copies of passport, 2 passport size pics and

    any vaccination documents she has.

I don't think he needs to worry about vaccination records if he doesn't have any, they just charge extra and do the vaccination at that time. My wife doesn't have any records of vaccination as it is the case for most people in Pak. Total cost is probably about Rs. 10,000.

I sent my wife the interview letter, copy of DS-230 and AOS docs. I didn't send her cards or I-130 papers etc.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  10. I heard a while ago on NPR (maybe) that most of the people with CR1 should not go through the name check/AP process becasue they are conditional residents and would go through more thorough background check when they apply for 10 year green card after being in the country for 2 years.

I have also noticed on VJ that most of the people who are going through AP are not I-130 but 129F when they apply for perm. status in the States.

Is it also true that applicants who have traveled outside of PAK before are more likely to be selected for AP?

    Thanks for your input!

  11. I don't think they will accept the certified copy. Problem is that what you consider 'proper authority' may not be acceptable by NVC. Its always a good idea to submit originals, there should be two copies of the marriage certificate. If you don't have both, you can get another one easily by talking to nikah registrar or whoever keeps the records for your city.

Did you use Jame's shortcuts to send DS230? If yes, you can do the same to send the marriage certificate. Checklist only takes about a week to week and a half to come so it won't take as long as your original package did.

    Hope this helps!

    hello everyone

v finally submitted our ds 230 a few days back and was hoping to hear 'case complete' but instead got the RFE on the automated messaging, so i talked to an operator and found out that the original marriage certificate is missing...

i submitted a certified copy of the marriage certificate issued by the proper authority as per the guidelines on nvc's website...so i am confused why i got the rfe??? did this happen to anyone else?...wud i HAVE to wait for the checklist letter to send the original (if so how long will this delay the case?) or should i again talk to the operator and tell them its a certified copy and that it shud be ok according to their rules!

    plz help...thanks :)
