  1. I'm putting all my ducks in a row for the move I'm about to make. My visa got approved so I'm now doing everything like cancelling insurances etc. The only thing I'm confused on is my retirement. I read that the belastingdienst(irs) would want to tax you for it, but I'm very confused on how it all works. Is there anyone who can give me some insight on how they did it?
  2. I survived the drive! Honestly, it wasn’t too bad. Started driving at 3:15 and took a 20min break, arrived at 7:45. Worst part was that my appointment was at 8:30 and my interview wasn’t until 12:15… I was so hungry LOL
  3. Yup! Currently (hopefully 2 months left) living in Apeldoorn, and then I’ll live in the Dallas area! and yeah, sadly I’ll have to go to Frankfurt. Gotta be there at 8:30am, so that’s ### HAHA. It’s 3,5-5 hours from apeldoorn
  4. I've printed it out and added it to my stack of papers, we should be good!!
  5. He just found the online thing and is trying to get in his id.me now. I’ll also tell him about the 1040, maybe that’s easier for him. The stress you removed from my soul cat.. thank you.
  6. Hi all! I'm not sure if this should go in the Consulate section or here, but my best guess is here. I have my interview friday and I'll have to drive 4-5h so I'm rechecking everything now. And sadly, I missed something. I read this sentence too fast regarding the evidence of support: 'A photocopy of the petitioner’s IRS tax transcripts and any relevant W-2s must be included.'. We included his W-2s from last year, but I totally missed the tax transcripts part. So dumb!! And it apparently takes 10-15 days for it to get to him, and my interview is in... 36h.. Yippie! Now I know that when you forget something you can send it to them and if everything is all good, THEN they'll approve/deny it. But I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a chance they might 'overlook' it or not care? I absolutely hate myself for not double checking earlier, even though I did but totally read over it, but at this point I can't do anything to fix it haha.
  7. Awesome, that gets some weight off my shoulders haha. Thanks for the help and the tip! ❤️
  8. Hi! I was reading through the AoS checklist/guide because my interview is next week and I always like to know what's ahead. I just saw the medical portion, the I-693. The issue is that I got my 2nd dose of hep shots a month ago, and the third dose needs to be 6 months after. However, my issue is that my plan is to move in november, which makes the date to file AoS before february, day depending on when I'd actually land/reach PoE. That means that there's a big possiblity that I can't get my third dose, unless they allow it to be done a few weeks early. Does anyone have any experience with this? My timeline currently looks like this: - Medical + shots received 6th of August - Visa interview 13th of September - Desired moving date 2nd of November
  9. Ours was approved 5th of june, and I think it got send to the NVC 2 weeks later? Not sure anymore. I send an inquiry on July 6th, which felt a bit soon, but I got a reply on the 8th with my NVC case number and then I could trace it easier!! It ended up arriving at the embassy mid/end of July. I just checked. The letter got sent from the NVC at the 16th of July. It arrived here last week, like the 4th of August.
  10. USCIS is, as far as I know, not country based. So your NOA1/NOA2 is just based on how fast USCIS is. And they've been VERY fast. We got our NOA2 after I believe 5-6 months after the NOA1.
  11. I love following along because you're one step ahead of me haha. Interview in september, so hope to follow your steps!!
  12. Awesome! I got mine scheduled for Sept 13th, trying to schedule my medical now
  13. Awesome, I'm a week before. Hoping all goes well!!
  14. I'm glad it got solved!! When's the interview?
  15. It's honestly weird, I used it last night to pay my fee, (last night UTC 1 am) and I could set my appointment just now. Is there a support you can email? EDIT: OH you just got in! YAY!
  16. Has she tried it on a different device/on her data yet?
  17. That’s amazing, thanks for the info!! Can I ask when your interview is?
  18. Hi my dear VJ friends! Hope you're all well. I am 10000% already worrying way too early. But because my consulate is outside of my country (Germany when I'm Dutch) I'm nervous something will go wrong with the mail. My case was marked ready 10 days ago, which is not a long time, so I'm not really worried yet. But I was wondering, is there a point where I should contact the consulate to check if something went wrong? I don't mind waiting, but I just want to know at what point I should worry.
  19. Thanks guys! You're all very right, it's worth the few hundred bucks to prevent any longer waiting times or headaches.
  20. Hi my dear VJ members! I should be receiving my packet 3 soon, so I'm preparing everything for my interview. I am Dutch, but the embassy in the Netherlands is no longer doing the interviews, so I have to go to Germany, Frankfurt to be exact. Normally, you don't have to translate any documents that are either in English or the language that your embassy location speaks. However, I speak Dutch, they speak German. I have my birth certificate, but it's in multiple languages. It'll say Staat (Dutch), État (French, Staat (German), Country (English) etc etc. Everything is listed in multiple languages that way. Would I still need to translate it? A member from VJ told me I'd have to, but I'd like to make sure as it's gonna cost 25 bucks per page, and if I can save those costs, I'd rather save them haha.
  21. I'm sure y'all's will be done soon, yours was sent not too long after ours!
  22. Yeah our NOA2 was 6/5 and they sent it I believe the 15th. But, I did do an inquiry and got our number through there. It's just still at the NVC currently.
  23. You need to have met once in the last two years. As long as that's the case, you should be good. Any extra can only help, but I'd make sure it's clear and valid evidence if I were you. Text messages, gift receipts, ring receipts, stuff like that also helps!
  24. TrackMyVisa is more accurate in my experience, but it costs money
  25. What experience are you specifically talking about? The validity of the I129F expiring before the interview or?
