If you don't want to deal with it. Consider getting married in Georgia. Single status is not required from either party.

That's correct.  Yes, tourists can easily extend their tourist stay in the Philippines for up to 3 years for most countries and 2 years for others.  However, those with one way tickets, do need an ongoing ticket for departure within 29 days.  Onward ticket is one way to do that inexpensively.  I just buy a one way ticket to anywhere from Orbitz/Expedia on my day of departure TO the Philippines, then utilize the 24 hour free cancel feature, once I have the confirmation email.  The email is good for the airlines, and may or may not be asked for in Manila or Cebu.  However, you won't get ON the plane without it.

According to https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html under the section for police certificates, you only need to submit police certificates from your current country of residence if you've lived there for more than 6 months (if different from you nationality) and other countries you lived in for more than 12 months however, if you were arrested in any of those countries, you will need to provide a police certificate irregardless of how long you were there

    Hey everyone!
I'm a bit confused about some of the wording for the police certificate requirements, particularly the residence part. My husband (Russian) and I (American) have been essentially traveling around since we got engaged and now married, while we await this immigration process. We've been in Egypt (husband worked/had residence for 5 months), Turkey (tourist visa/visa-free and overstay for 4-5 months [only overstayed because of unsuccessful residence applications]), Armenia (visa-free 6 months), and now we're going to the Philippines because of the seemingly perpetual tourist visa extensions.

The only country my husband had official residence was Egypt. Will we eventually need to get police certificates for Armenia, Philippines, (maybe Turkey?)? Anyone who has had a similar experience, would love to hear what you had to do!
