  1. Valerie - that's too funny. Their email system and response time aren't working the best are they?

So it took 3 days to get the RFE email? Did you already send in the requested item or did you wait for the email? And if you did send it in already, did you get an auto-response?

  2. Grrrrr, RFE's. And no email or request or anything from the NVC. Only found out because my hubby called in this morning and spoke to a supervisor. I hadn't done my 2009 taxes when I sent in the I-864 package so I sent in my W-2 for the year with tax transcripts for the previous 2 years. Now they want my 2009 tax transcript. And my hubby was in the South African Navy and they want his military record, not just the military certificate. So that may take a while to get.

So question: if the tax transcript is for the I-864 package and the military record is for the DS-230 package, can we just send them in together in the same email stating they are the request for evidence?

Darn it, just want to cry....

  3. Zenaxe, you sure got approved fast - congratulations! My hubby apparentley called in at some point after I did last week and the NVC moved our documents received date from 4-13 to 4-16. Ugh. But am hoping that means they have all the documents now even they were all sent on the same day. No approval by Monday and I will have to call in and talk to a supervisor to make sure.

  4. Most annoying co-worker is definitely my boss.

First of all, I have a bowl of M&M's sitting on my desk for all to enjoy. He likes to go to the bathroom, not wash his hands (he's not in there long enough to do so, he's in and out of there in 30 seconds) then grab a handful of M&M's on his way back to his office. Gross. Needless to say, I do not eat from the bowl - ever. And in fact have taken it down.

Secondly, he's married, two kids (his daughter used to work here until just a few months ago), an elder at his church, and does marital counseling 2 nights a week for couples in the church who are having problems. What does he spend 1/2 his day doing while at work? Chatting with women on yahoo messenger. My desk is about 20 feet from his door and all I hear all afternoon is: type type type...pause...type type type...pause, etc.... I only know this because he forgot to log off of it one evening and then left. I went in to turn the monitor off and there it was - him talking about the big O with one of them. Double Gross.

Love the rest of my co-workers and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't still be here!

  5. We re-sent the I-864 and for the first time sent in the DS-230 on the 12th (in two seperate emails), and on the 13th the AVR said it had received documents. I have never received an auto-response email or any emails asking for either of those documents. We are giving it until this Thurs or Fri then will call in and ask for a supervisor to find out what they have received. All this uncertainity is driving me nuts!!

  6. No kidding...although ours has taken slightly longer because we were waiting for a police clearance certificate. We've sent everything in now but the lack of communication is very frustrating, and unless you ask for a supervisor, the operators are no help.

  7. Yes, I can still log into the payment portal. And we only just sent in the DS-230 on Monday. I was hoping to confirm whether or not they received the I-864 this time, since we originally sent it in middle of March and they never got it. We sent that in again on Monday as well.

  8. Wow...I just read this entire post for the first time and couldn't stop reading it until the end. And I just sent an email to my hubby asking him to write the tracking number down now! I really hope this gets resolved for you both soon. I think you can quickly request a new passport, I think my husband got his in 10 days or so. Then send it to Montreal, they take their 5-7 days to send it out again and you can still get married in June! Best of luck and let us know what happens....

  9. My AVR yesterday said that they had received documents as of 4-13 but not what those documents were. I talked to an operator and she said she couldn't tell me if that included the I-864 and/or the DS-230, just that documents had been received. She said to wait 2-4 weeks and check back, which of course I will not do! Checking again every other day to see if the AVR message changes.....

  10. I sent my I-864 on 3/18 and they still haven't found it or logged it or whatever. We talked to an operator this a.m. and they said send it again, so I did today. We also sent in the completed DS-230 today as well. But no auto-response email to either of them (sent to both email addresses this time). Hopefully it all goes thru this time!

  11. Interestingly enough, we called in to the NVC this morning to see if they had the AOS package I emailed over two weeks and they said no (going to research it). We had emailed it to nvcmontreal@state.gov and they confirmed on the phone this morning that is the correct email addr to send it to.

Wish they'd make up their minds!!

  12. We sent in our OPTIN and DS-3032 before receiving the packages in the mail as well. No, you didn't need to wait. As long as you got the auto-response back you are fine! And it may take up to two weeks to get the OPTIN approval - ours did, but some are much faster.

Next step I believe, is logging on to the NVC site and the online payment portal to watch for your AOS $70 bill to be ready to pay. http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4354.html You will need your case # and IIN number to log in.

  13. So after talking to a supervisor, we sent in the OPTIN and DS-3032 again, together and seperately (total of 2 additional emails) and within 24 hours received 3 responses from the NVC approving all our emails including the one sent on 3/9. The only one I'm not sure they have rec'd/approved is the I-864 stuff, but I will check on that early next week. And the IV bill has now been invoiced to pay. It seems our phone call to a supervisor worked!

  14. I applied for my Canadian husband for the I-130 and we are currently at the NVC stage. His son, who is 14, now wants to live with his Dad which means filing an I-130 for him as well. So our questions are these:

    1. Do we file for him now or after we have completed the interview for my husband?

I am figuring by the time we get the son's I-130 approved and on to the NVC, we should already have our interview date with Montreal. Would there be any reason they would put a hold on our file to catch his up with ours or maybe if we already have an interview date and the son's file gets completed at the NVC by then, they might expedite his to we can take care of both at the same time in Montreal?

    2. If you file an I-130 for a minor, does someone still have to fly to Montreal to do an interview? Parent only or does the child also go if the petition is only for the child?

    Thanks you guys!

  15. The email address NVC is using when replying is: nvcelectronic@state.gov

I'm starting to get pretty confused about which email to send stuff to, but my hubby talked to a supervisor yesterday at the NVC and they told him which one to send the DS-3032 to. We had to resend that and I will be re-sending the I-864 info as well because they never got either of them. We had sent the OPTIN to NVCelectronic@state.gov with the DS-3032 attached (no reply rec'd - I think they registered the OPTIN but not the DS 3032 because they had already corrected his email addr before we called on it) and sent the I-864 to nvcmontreal@state.gov (I did get a reply email on that but the supervisor yesterday said they hadn't received it on the file yet).

  16. The only reply I have gotten is an automatic reply when I sent in the AOS stuff. Will have my hubby call in today and talk to a supervisor (he seems to get thru much faster than me when calling from Canada) and if that doesn't work, I will send in the inquiry email.

Thanks again for your help Darnell - really appreciate it!

  17. I feel like I'm doing something wrong here....

My husband emailed in the DS3032 on 3-9 and we haven't received anything from the NVC confirming it or accepting it...he did call in to make sure they had our correct email addresses (I gave the wrong one earlier) and they said they did already (which means they must have gottent his correct email off the 3032).

I paid the $70 AOS bill on 3-16 and emailed the AOS package on 3-18 and have heard nothing at all. Also, the IV bill has not yet been invoiced?.

I know it hasn't been all that long, but looking at other people's timelines, they've paid both bills on the same day or within a couple days. Should I wait or make a call?

    Thanks!

  18. So I gave the wrong email address to the NVC operator when I called in. Will try to get thru again tonight, but should we re-send in the OPTIN email or will they figure it out with the case number on it?

  19. We have just started the Electronic Process. We sent in the OPTIN email on 3/9 with the Choice of Agent scanned and attached. And I called in last night and gave them our email addressess over the phone. The operator said the packet had been sent via the regular mail.

How do I get into the payment portal to pay the first bill? Or do I wait for the packet to arrive first? I was noticing someone earlier said they paid it the same day they did the OPTIN email?
