Lady's and Gentlemen, I'm a U.S. Citizen.
It didn't go well at first and it was rather stressful because my name change request wasn't done (again). Calls where made and my request was quickly approved by the court right there. I was allowed to attend the ceremony and became a U.S. Citizen. After the ceremony I was asked to go with the IO from the court house to the federal building where my certificate of naturalization was written. I'm very glad this is over. Monday morning I have an appointment at the passport office in DC because I'm leaving this weekend on a trip.
What a ride!

Had the interview today @ 8AM in Baltimore. Interview lasted 20 minutes, and passed
Was told to come back @ 11:45AM for the oath ceremony, ceremony began @ 12:30PM and lasted about half-hour.
Glad it's over, finally!

msnoob - you aren't done yet either? What is your situation?
Nope, we are not done yet!! We were given the run around because we were originally told that my husband's fingerprints from ROC were still valid. Once the fingerprints expired, we had a hard time getting USCIS to issue another fingerprint notice. We contacted our Senator and finally got a fingerprint appointment. He's back in line for interview scheduling now. Hopefully we don't have much longer now...

We received a text message on October 20th that they were mailing out a fingerprinting notice. Until now we haven't received the notice and unfortunately, our mailman is notorious for placing mail in the wrong box. Does anyone know the process for having a duplicate notice sent out?

We went the K3/CR1 route in 2008. We actually did both and when we went for the interview, we had them process the CR1 instead of the K3 visa. For us, this was the better choice. When my husband arrived in the US, he was able to immediately begin looking for work, which was important to him. It also gave us a break from USCIS for 2 yrs instead of having to adjust status after he arrived. While we were apart, I was able to visit him regularly which helped as well.
I think it really depends on each couple's unique situation.

Did you only send one tax year transcript? I think you need to send 2008 and 2009 transcripts. Other than that, I cannot think of anything missing based on your list given.

We're currently still waiting for our bio appointment. Apparently our local office is quite busy and they can't schedule us.
Is the whole process going to be held up by this? Will they wait for the biometrics to be done to even address our evidence? I just want it over with.

We had a late biometrics appointment (we filed in October; biometrics in January), but it did not affect our approval time when we look at other October filers.

I don't think there is a difference... Vermont is just terribly slow. I'm sure all of the winter storms didn't help matters either. It was the same way when we went through the CR1 process 2 years ago. Vermont was so slow that they began to transfer Vermont petitions to California.

We were in the same boat. We filed in October and received our bio appointment letter this past Saturday. We live in Maryland as well. Baltimore is our local office, however, the biometrics appointment is for Glenmont.

You can also change a few of those over to your name rather than adding your name to the existing account. Therefore, you will have some utilities in one name and some in the other... but showing the same address.

I filed Two weeks after we were married (only because I was waitin on a document I needed) We had no problems. I agree that I would get the process started immediately.

I wish I knew why Baltimore took so long... We had three October filers and we all were naturalized in May/June. Our case didn't begin any movement until we contacted our Senator. And it was less than two months from contact with our Senator to his oath ceremony... after 6 months of nothing. I'm just so glad that it's over now
