Hello members!
I am trying to get information on how to proceed.
The foreign spouse was issued a J1 visa in 2020 and expired in 2022 (with covid extension) and seeks to file the AOS packet. Will she need to file the J1 waiver form and/or the I-601 forms? There is a note written on the visa that mentioned the 2 year residency requirement that was not fulfilled due to being an overstay.
Thanks for you guidance 🙏
I-612 can be filed bc on the I 485 application that’s one of the questions and uscis will look for that wavier.

If you did not pay the delivery fee, then you have to pick it up in Kingston.
Yeah starting to wonder if that was the better option because the Montego Bay location is closed Fridays and Mondays. So all now it hasn’t reached there yet! Plus it’s holiday in Jamaica.

You cannot call DHL without the tracking number
We were sent the email from the DOS after two days from when the visa was issued. Then it goes to DHL and we are awaiting for the next instructions if we have to pick it up or they going to delivery it to Westmoreland address or pickup from Montego Bay location. I guess it takes three days for it to arrive.

Hello everyone i would like to share the goods with you all. I finally got my fiancé visa , i pick it up today.
status breakdown
READY February 28
Approved February 29 (change to non immigrant visa)
Issued March 1
Email sent today (March 4)
Just a question: who sent the email when your visa was ready for pick up, DHL or the Department of State? Did you do delivery service or went back to Kingston? I can't seem to figure out the next step

You wait for it to be delivered to office closest to your location 3 to 5 business days after embassy sends the passport
I would look into calling the nearest DHL office and asking 5 days to a week after visa issued / there are several offices thruout the country
Ok seems reasonable outlook thank you

when u registered for DHL did u list office for delivery or just your home address?
Does the CEAC site say issued as your 2nd interview was just 5 days ago (the 21st according to your timeline)?
it does take time to print out the visa to add to passport and DHL Jamacia delivery takes another 3 to 5 days.
I would check email to say sent out or delivered
DHL Jamacia also says
Does DHL deliver in Jamaica?DHL Express - Fast. Door-to-Door. Courier Delivered - Jamaica. The option for the visa website was not exact to a specific address but to the closest location to my community. The visa was approved but the date of issue was subsequently four days later. Once a visa is placed in administrative processing and all documents are received (including medical) that’s when the consular officer adjudicates the application. Then security checks are preformed then visa is issued. But VJ doesn’t have all those time slots to account for. So DHL is the presumed delivery service for the document delivery but I’m not sure because there’s no information explain after a certain point what is to be come. That’s why I posed the question on what is exactly the next step after issuance of a visa from the Kingston Embassy.

cant you call DHL there in your town
What would I ask of them exactly ?

Thank you in advance. The courier service is a bit confusing. In Jamaica they use DHL I believe but once it’s issued from the embassy what are the next steps? We choose to have it delivered but nothing on the website tells you where or if they come to the person or go to a pick up location. For persons living in Westmoreland it would be easier to do delivery instead of traveling to Kingston. Any current information?

My family and I have been waiting several years for my brother’s interview date and we finally got it! Unfortunately, we arr not able to get a medical appointment at Saint Andrews until after the interview date. I’ve been reading the threads and I see folks talking about expediting. I called Saint Andrews and they are giving no indication of how to expedite.
how can we expedite his case?I would check the website every day for an appointment https://amhosp.org/usmedical/ but just a heads up the medical won’t be ready until about 4 to 6 weeks. They say ten days but when my fiancé went to his interview the medical wasn’t there yet.

I am currently living in the US me and my husband and 3 kids. My sister is here visiting from jamaica on her visitors visa. I filed a I-130 for her from 2008 August and it got approved in 2010 September. Is it possible for me to submit a I-486 for a change of status?
You can watch the visa bulletin to see when you can file the 485 for her they are up to March 01 2008 so hopefully soon your priority will be here soon. You referring to an extension to stay ? If she doesn’t maintain lawful status up until the time she files her case or would be denied bc she has to maintain lawful status. So her best bet is to return and come back again bc it will mess up her geeen card application.

Good day,
i have an interview coming next week for March 28th. I attended my medical exam. At my exam they informed me that I needed a covid vaccine booster, yet they dont offer that at st andrews. Moreover, I was informed that the current covid vaccine thats in Jamaica is expired and that KSAC says that the expired vaccine is good until October of this year. I am very concern about this because I dont want an expired vaccine to enter my body.
Does anyone have an alternative to this?
My medical report is still at st andrews hospital and cant be sent to the US embassy until the vaccine has been taken.
You only need one vaccine to enter the U.S. per cdc rules.

I went to do my interview in February. However, no medical dates were available until February23. So, I ended up doing my interview before my medical. when i wnet to do my interview at the embassy they gave me a refusal paper stating that I submit my passport along with my DS260 . i think they made a mistake and put DS260 instead of medical. how do I correct that?
Jamaica embassy have an email maybe you can inquire for the correction. What kind of visa are you applying for ?

Great day,
Our refusal status language has changed. Our interview was in October 2023, we were requested to provide a police report, Impediment form, and Passport. We finally figured out how to go about obtaining the documents after the runaround for 3 months because Jamaica does not provide clear and concise information and instruction.
So, we turned in the information last month, and understandably our case remained in the same refused status since our interview in October 2023. Our status has changed about 4 times since February 20th. My question is; what is the difference in the refusal languages?
Thank you kindly.
These pictures are the same can you provide the new pic with the latest status updated in February

My fiancé did the interview at Kingston embassy after the medical was done. What’s the timeline after they receive the medical does it usually take for them to review to approve the visa?
timeline after the medical…
medical February 5
interview February 20
refused February 20
Status change February 28 (assuming receipt of medical)

Hello friends! Long time no see. And before you offer condolences, this isn't a sad story but a happy one! We received NOA2 on I-129F in February 2023, however before NVC contacted us she was approved for Humanitarian Parole (i-134a) and she has been in the states since April! Things are going great. She's enrolled full time in the local community college taking English classes and ESOL classes. Although she's fluent, she wanted to spend time with her grammar and pronunciation. She plans to get her dental education sent to the states, and work at becoming licensed here which requires decent English skills.
Here is the question - Since USCIS/NVC doens't make it easy to cancel an application, we just decided to let it resolve itself of it's on volition. However I've heard through the grapevine that when we go to apply for premiant residency (I-485) under Cuban Adjustment Act (CAA) that an open i-129F case could cause a denial or delays. Is this true? And does anyone have a nice form letter to sign and send to USCIS and NVC to cancel this case? Lastly I never even contacted NVC, is it easy to find their mailing address or can any of this be quickly resolved with a phone call? Thank you
Bonus pic : We claimed Mt Rainier up to Camp Meir last July. Not an easy hike, but we did it!
Submit a withdrawal letter of the petition so they can close it out and you can proceed.

Hello all! I received NOA1 1/19/23. I received NOA2 12/9/23. I haven’t received any correspondence since then. What should I expect next, correspondence stating that the case is at the NVC or that it’s at the embassy? Is it normal that I haven’t heard anything for over two months now?
I sent an inquiry to NVC in order to gather info on if my case was already received and if/when it was assigned a case number. I was told: “The NVC is unable to assist you with your inquiry. Please direct your inquiry to the US embassy or consulate processing your petition.”. What should I make of this?
Well you left out a few factors what service center approved you? Did you receive 797 notice yet? There’s no timeline, every situation is unique. My experience was pretty accurate to the timeline they provided. Did you file a I-130 or just a 129F petition ?

Has it been five years since you received your green card? If so if you have 4 years and 9 months just apply for your citizenship. 751 aren’t priority

It takes 10 days to get it by courier by DHL. You do have an option to pick it up in Kingston at the pick up window. It still will be 10 days to get it.
Oh wow thank you I thought it would be faster to pickup instead

Did anyone at Kingston embassy paid the courier fee or just went to pick up the visa? Just trying to see which option is worth it to drive or just have them bring it to sav la mar. Can’t find any feedback about it on here. How would it take for the courier to bring it ?

Seems like you may need more vaccines or a follow up on something or treatment. They took blood work and a X-ray so your results may need more. Hope all is well
