Hello everyone. My fiancee will try to go to SLMEC the first week of June. Is there a good day of the week to show up or will any day work? Also, should she be at the entrance very early? Does anyone know when they open? Thanks for the help.

You must call the USE Manila to schedule an interview date. They will give you a date or let you pick from a few open dates. You could try calling now, but from my experience it might be better to wait at least until the end of the week. Seems the Manila USE has to review/file the documents once they receive them. You might try calling at the end of the week. I had to call a couple times before they gave me a date.

Hi everyone, so I just want to make sure I have it right before I send my fiancee to Metrobank.....The DOC verification fee is P650 right? And since she is outside metro Manila the bank will charge a separate P50 for processing, but this P50 is not included in the deposit to Delbros... right? This is just a fee the bank will charge for the deposit....Ok...hope I got it right....bye bye

Hi VJ'rs! Well I was able to get my fiancee her interview date by calling USEM!! I just hope they did not forget to tell me about a medical exam date. They only stated it should be done one week before, but gave me no specific date for the medical. I guess its just a walk in? I hope.
Thanks for any info everyone! B)

Hello everyone...So once I receive a date for my fiancees embassy interview in Manila how will we go about getting a date for the medical exam?? Can you just walk into St. Lukes and get the medical once you get an embassy interview date? Thanks for any info

Hi everyone!! My fiancee and I are trying to schedule her embassy interview
Has anyone tried using the online sysytem "VisaPoint" to schedule? I wonder if I would have any better luck online then calling the cell center. So far when I call I'm told we can't yet schedule a date.
Has anyone recently gotten an interview date??
Thanks for any info

Well, I was told my fiancee's K1 left NVC for Manila on May 5th. I called today to the USEM May 12(Manila time). I was told they had the papers but what I think the operator said was "no qualifying dates yet" or something like that. He was a bit hard to understand. He said to call back in two weeks...
From what I have read from other people, I could try calling again in a couple days?? So frustrating, I was really hoping to get a date set today. Anyone ran into this recently? Thanks.....

Hi everyone...Just curious...
Our K1 is on its way from NVC to Manila now. Once Manila receives it, how long is it taking them to schedule an interview/medical date? Also, how far out are they scheduling them now? Should we expect to get a date in late May or sometime June? Thanks...

Hi all. There is some slight confusion with my fiancee's BC. Her NSO Authenticated Birth Certificate is not in great shape. The printed letters of her name are blurred. She also has the original live BC from her local civil registry that is clear. The problem is...We tried to get a new copy from the NSO and the new copies came back with the exact same blurring/bad type print. So it seems the master that they are making these copies from on security paper is bad. We have heard that it originates from ####### microFiche used to archive her BC at the NSO. So...she has a good copy of her local civil registry BC and a blurry NSO BC. I think our only option is to try to get a copy of her local civil registry BC "athenticated" by the NSO. Problem is....she lives in Cebu and the NSO there no longer athenticates BC's. She will have to go to Manila.
Has anyone experienced this problem of blurred NSO BC? Does anyone know if the blurry NSO BC will cause problems at her interview? Should we go through the trouble of trying to get a copy of her local civil registry BC "athenticated"? Thanks for any advice!!!

Hi thanks for the advice, yes I think she will fly. Also, she wants to take her Mom or sister for company at the hotel since she has never been to Big Manila
shes a bit scared, and I don't blame her. I wish I could attend, but hopefully I can make it for her interview a week or two after the medical. It all depends on how soon we can get dates scheduled. Her Mom has no passport and I think just a Voter ID. Not sure if the airlines in the Philippines are strict on ID for inta-phil travel. Thanks again for the advice.

Hi everyone! I'm trying to plan how my fiancee should get to Manila from her home in Cebu for her medical and then interview. I know there is a ferry that takes about one day, and of course there is always a plane. My question is if she does take the ferry does anyone know how far away St. Lukes is from the ferry dock in Manila? Is it just a short ride on a taxi? Thanks for any advice!

Hi all...I want to travel back to the Philippines to be with my fiancee when she has her interview in Manila. Does anyone know if I, the petitioner, can attend the interview with her? Thanks

Well, I’m just curious. We will file our AOS for our K1 this summer. If for some reason my income (I’m the sponsor) is not adequate will the whole AOS be denied or will we be allowed to find a co-sponsor and continue the process or will we have to re-file the whole AOS? Thanks

Hello everyone...Can anyone tell me if it matters how long I have been at my current employer, as far as the AOS process is concerned.
(I'm the petitioner) Here's the deal; I'm thinking of changing employers for a better position in a different town. I'm thinking of doing this once my fiancee arrives, but then when we file the paperwork for the AOS my current length of employement at my current employer will be very short. Will that be a problem? I still have tax returns showing enough income for the last 3 years. I'm just not sure if it will look bad, or cause a problem if I switch employers right before my fiancee and I file the AOS....Thanks in advance for any advice..

So sorry for the other post, yes I'm the petitioner....And I'm wondering if I change my employment just before we file the AOS for our K1 will it affect us?? I know they want a letter from my employer stating how long I have been employed, is it a permanent position, ect... I have my tax statements that show I have made enough money for the past 3 years, so will it matter if I have a new employer just before the AOS filing? I'm just worried that it might matter, maybe I should stick with my present employer of 2.5 years until the AOS is complete?? Thanks for any advice.

I'm thinkning about changing my present employer just before we file our AOS for out K1. I, the beneficiary, know they will want a statement from my employer, and they ask how long I have been employed, if the job is perm, ect.... Will it matter if I have just started this new job. I will still have my last few tax statements showing I have made enough income for the last 3 years, but it worries me to change employers just before the AOS application...Will I be ok, or should I stick with my present employer until the AOS is complete? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Ok, so I understand the basics of why you need to get a medical exam at the embassy as part of the visa approval. What I don't understand is why the Beneficiary needs to sometimes undergo such tests as ECG, breast exam, ect.....Very strange. What is the reason behind such tests, since I thought the exam was to check for infectious diseases that could be transmitted to others, such as TB, ect...
good time to show up at SLMEC?
