  1. Hi! I’m not sure if I can actually help you but are your parents names etc on your birth certificate as well? And I can assume it’s in English next to being in Japanese? sorry if that’s not helpful at all but these were my thoughts why it could be unaccepted
  2. They were really nice! And yes! I waited like an hour to get to the first counter and was super nervous… but as soon as I was called I just had my “mission” ahead and I got calmer 😄 the second counter (the actual interview) was really just like 10 minutes long and they were nice too! Long waiting time but all in all nice staff and good experience!
  3. Hi I was in Frankfurt as well they asked for my fiancés recent W-2 and the IRS tax return they didn’t need any bank statement, employment verification or any other tax documents. I think it’s good to have them but all they asked about are the mentioned above documents and the I-134, my birth certificate, my police certificate, and asked if I had a visa already and if it’s still valid. I believe that’s it 😄 it’s always good to have more but it’s really important to have what they request good luck 🍀
  4. I’m “ready” since June 6th but thanks again that was super helpful!
  5. Oh i actually haven’t received anything from the consulate yet… I was wondering if I’d ever hear from them 😅🥲 but I guess I’ll be patient and since i already did the DS-160 plus payed the visa fee I’ll just wait! Thank you so much!
  6. I had to enter all the details of the DS-160 on the ustraveldocs website and then they told me they’d received my request and would contact me… I heard from another woman in Germany who had to wait 3 weeks until she heard from them… is that normal procedure?
  7. Hi everyone! I hope you can help me out. I was told through the case tracker app that my case is ready at the German consulate and I went ahead and filed the DS-160 and tried to schedule an appointment for my visa interview. After paying I had to wait until I got a confirmation number. After a couple of days I didn’t receive any email so I just tried checking the website again and suddenly there the number was and I could go ahead. Then I was given a notification that my request for an appointment was sent and I’d receive a message. I haven’t gotten any messages yet and I was wondering if this happened to you as well?! after a few days I could continue on the ustraveldocs website and there I could choose between some options (but only if I had gotten a message from the consulate) now I’m wondering if the “ready” status in the app is the message or if the consulate will literally send me a message? I thought I could just make an appointment after paying or did I miss a step?! I’m having my medical scheduled for tomorrow so I’m packing everything I have since I don’t have a interview letter yet (I read that it works without it as well) Thanks in advance!
  8. I’m very sorry! I didn’t know but I’ll keep that in mind and that wasn’t intentional at all. thank you very much! That helps me a lot!
  9. Hi! After collecting the answers about police reports from other countries I've lived in since I was 16 in a different post, I wonder about another question. I found a post from 2014 that someone who lived in the US for about 13 months as an AuPair was told they didn't need a police report for that specific time since the US government would do their checks already. Is that still true in 2024? I was an AuPair for about 2 years in the US and I read so many different opinions that I don't want to make a mistake in not collecting it. Thanks! I hope you can help me
  10. Yeah I was just confused about the photo they need for the application… but I agree I’ll definitely apply ASAP 😄
  11. Ohh okay so UK passport style photo for the police report? ☺️
  12. Thank you! Making a possible mistake made me push it but knowing it will take some time to arrive... I really want this to get going and be with me when I need it so it won't take too much time in the future.
  13. Thank you for your quick response! Do you perhaps mean the UK photo standards or really the US standards?
  14. Hello I'm hoping someone can help me with this regard! I have to order a police report from the UK since I have lived there for more than 6 months a few years ago. They need me to attach a passport-style photo. I am from Germany and saw that the requirements for a passport-style photo are slightly different from the biometric ones here in Germany. I don't want to make mistakes but is it essential that I get new photos taken or can I take the ones I used for my German passport? I hope someone has experienced this before and can help me out Best regards Pauline
  15. Just to clarify… the link about the „immigrant visa process“ is not for the K1 visa… I got really confused again 🫣
  16. Thank you so much! I was aware that I’ll have to bring the police certificates to the embassy in my country just wanted to mention the nvc phase so it makes sense and thank you so much for the information! Does that mean that I’ll just need the one from England?
  17. Hi! I hope I can find some smart answers here because I’m very confused 😅 I saw that I (as the foreign fiancée, German) have to provide police certificates from the countries that I have lived in for 6+ months since I was 16 years old. I did a school year in England when I was 18-19 and lived in the US as an aupair from the age of 23-25. Has anyone of you experienced similar circumstances and could help me out how they did it? Do I really have to send the police certificate from England and the us to the consulate next to my german one?
