Congratulations Phil, finally your waiting time is over, mine is still stuck with CV only requested. My interview was also held first week of November, 2023. Now from last week my case start getting updates as follows: Updated on April 30, May 2, May 3. Not sure its a good sign or not? how often your case was updating in last 3 months? can you please share the dates if you have saved the dates for updates.

Thank you! During this long AP process, do we will have to inform USCIS, NVC OR Montreal consulate that we just got Canadian citizenship? or it doesnt matter at all for them?

I have one question: If case is in AP after interview, at the time of Interview applicant was Permanent Resident of Canada, and during this long AP processing time, if applicant apply for Canadian citizenship if qualified and then get Canadian citizenship before passport request or re-medical for IR1, will this cause an any issue in current ongoing IR1 process if one become Canadian? I mean in this scenario, do we will have to inform USCIS, NVC OR Montreal consulate that we just got Canadian citizenship. I just checked I-130 form and DS-260 forms, it was not asked any where which citizenship you hold. Can we do this like if we get Canadian citizenship then just hold Canadian Citizenship certificate but dont apply for Canadian passport and then migrate to US once IR1 visa approved. Sorry if its out of way question, but i thought you guys have great knowledge so someone of them will reply here. thank you

yes its like AP with CV. When I was requested CV it was clearly mention in the email from CO that my case is now in AP and I need to send my updated CV. But the question is how long it will take when its only a CV, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months. I feel like sending passport again when requested and remedical is also a headache if no clear instruction is given.

yeah I didnt request for the passport, we just made an inquiry about the case status and requested if they can finalize process.

I hope so, we sent inquiry 12 days ago, First earlier this morning we got reply from consulate that case is currently pending review by a consular officer and then received an email of courier tracking number. I dont know why I feel like our inquiry made trigger and they just sending back passport without a visa.

Hello everyone, My case (IR1) was in AP for last 2.8 months, they only requested CV after my interview which was sent the next day but they kept my passport. Today just few minutes ago I received an email from U.S. DoS Visa system and Purolator with the tracking number, seem like they are sending back my passport? my visa status still showing Refused but last updated date change to "today" with the same status "Refused" My question is that are they sending back the passport with visa or without visa, as status didnt changed to Ready or issued. I am really nervous.

in the 221 g paper they gave me, CO crossed check on “supplemental question” line and asked me to wait for the email, in interview upon my asking, CO didnt even tell me anything what to submit that it will be resume or ds5535 form she only said just wait for the email and after you will send what we actually required your case will be resolved within few weeks or months and kept my passport. I was wondering, what if they actually needed Ds5535 and resume both, but accidentally forgot to type for DS5535 in the email, and they were waiting for DS5535 which I didnt send as not requested? In that way my case will be hanging in there without progress, however after sending my CV case status got updated twice two consecutive days. I checked email i received several times up and down there is no link or even mentioned about ds5535 form. I am really worrier now.

Masters degree in Electronics Engineering and experience with Telecom companies. How would I know if case is at Consulate level or DC? In my CEAS profile still its showing interview will be schedule and not saying that case is AP, However in visa status check it says refused and updated twice. Also, when they gave me 221 g form it was written as “supplemental questions will be sent to you by email” but in the email they said case is AP now and only requested for updated resume only. The word “supplemental questions” refer to DS5535?? Or resume only can also be consider as “supplemental question” ?? I replied and sent my resume to the same email address from which I received an email, is it enough or do I need to send through courier as well?

How long it could take when they just asked for updated Resume only and not DS5535? Any idea, I noticed for IR1/CR1 they ask for DS5535. However, they ask for Resume only for those applied for B1/B2 or K1 visa.

Do you mean to say, first they asked for Resume and you sent it, and later on after few days they communicate again and asked for DS-5535 form as well? When was your interview and for how long you are waiting for?

Hi, my interview was last week for IR1. everything went well, at the end they gave 221 g paper and the next day they send an email saying the case is in under AP and asked for my updated CV with all the start and end dates of my all education and work experiences. I sent my CV the same day through email. Good thing is that they kept my passport and didnt ask for form DS5535. How long they take to clear AP when they ask for only CV?? Any recent case similar to like mine???
