spouse 3 years? Mine was on 5 years and I did not request any name change.

Mine was 5 years based....I sent my application april 14. finger printed may 13 and now, I am in line for an interview ever since.

I havent heard anything from them.....I sent my application April,14 );

In Some places, they will allow approved applicants to take the oath in the same day as the interview date, so I would recommend to dress up just in case...

A formal outfit that fit to an interview is good. But they wanted to be more formal at the Oath Taking. No shorts, jeans or flip flops

I am close to 90 days of waiting since they had me in line for an interview!!!! Atlanta is the slowest office in the nation...smh.

I received a yellow letter in the mail from USCIS saying that I need to bring my state issued ID along with all my passports ( including the expired ones).This letter said that it was not an interview notice. my status online still says in line for interview!!! Atlanta office is super slow...Why did I get this yellow letter telling me to bring in my id and passport and I dont even know my interview date yet???

I have been placed in line for interview since May 15. I checked my local field office processing time ( Atlanta,Ga) and they are working on cases from October 2013. This is ridiculously slow!!!!!!!!!!!!! They need to hire more people or do something about it!

Online first then, you get a letter in the mail with more details ( date and time ) regarding your interview!

Wish my interview date would be 06/16 which is my bday! Atlanta field office do interview and ceremony on the same day so, I would be citizen on my birthday (-;

Updating for Moe1985. Had my fingerprints taken yesterday, I was in and out within 30 minutes. I was also given study materials ( booklet and CD) to prepare for the civic and history test. Pretty excited!

This is so random but,that aggravates me about USCIS is that we, the applicants, pay $680.00 fee for the process of getting the citizenship, furthermore, We send our packets with priority mail and pay lots of money to make sure it gets there without getting lost and QUICK(Overnight delivery). However, When USCIS sends out NOA's or important letters to respond to applicants regarding interviews or appointments....etc. They send it through snail mail which applicants get it in FOREVER! what I am saying is that we pay alot of money for this application and we should expect a decent/Premium service! At least, send our important notices and appointment letters via FedEx or Ups so we can get it the next day because we wait impatiently to hear something about our cases. Geeez

Don't worry....They won't take the green card from you! You will more likely be denied because you filed N-400 on marriage basis and you do not meet the requirements for naturalization path through marriage since you two are not living with each other anymore. Wait couple more years and file on 5 years rule, at that point, it doesn't matter whats your marital status as long as you have a clean record and meet the requirements. Relax and life is too short....

N-400: April 2014 Applicants

Hello everyone,

I really need your advice and suggestions? I applying for the naturalization very soon and I am little worry about Part 11 Item 23 in N-400:

"Have you ever been cited by any law enforcement officer including immigration officials for any reason"

I remember 3 years ago that I got a citation for carrying undeclared seeds and cigarettes in the airport and charges have been applied at that time.

My question: Do I need to worry about this and do I really need to mention that in my application.

If your fine is under 500$ , You dont need to mention it. Hope this help.

I would like to visit my girlfriend in Amman, Jordan.

I would like to know about the visa and passport. I never been outside the USA. How easy is it to get them? How quickly can I get them? Do I have to have any ties to the USA or is it much easier than that for a USA citizen?

Where do I get the visa and passport or how do I apply for it?

Is it safe in Amman, Jordan for me? Also what can I expect? I'm a little worried about going there because my girlfriend is not allowed to pick me up from the airport so my biggest concern is getting lost.

1-She should be able to pick you up from the airport with no problem at all!! 2- you will get your Jordanian visa when arrive at the airport . 3- You could hold hands and even make out with no one would get in ur business!!! If you wanna make love then, you need to be away from the main rd at least 30 ft. lol
