i wish they'd just hire more people or relocate existing workers from other departments. 256 days and counting just for the last CEAC update... our lives have been so disrupted by this process...

It’s very frustrating .are you also in Jerusalem ? Everything is expensive here and not sure how long our AP will take .we are thinking to return to Russia and wait till they ask for the passports .even though not sure then how to send them her passport from Russia after AP process .

@K1visak2 it has been about a month and a half for us. from previous advice i got from others on the forum, it seems like us embassy in poland is doing this to almost every russian fiancee.

the polish website https://pl.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas-fiancee-visa/case-status/?_ga=2.259673613.648768127.1712750814-153925293.1710862596 says that most cases take 60 days for administrative processing, but based on what @rikko has experienced it could be much much longer.

Now they are asking us to do a second interview by phone .we are still in ap since April 8th .not sure how long it will take .but at wondering if it takes too long then maybe we should fly back home and wait for answers .everything is very expensive in Israel .and rent alone is costing us $2500 a month not mentioning the high cost of food ,and transportation .can we send our passports in the mail once they approve us ?

My fiancé's K1 fiancé visa is currently undergoing administrative processing, his interview was in Beirut Lebanon on March 19th, 2024. I'm sure everyone knows the unfortunate conflict that is taking place in Lebanon currently and my fiance and his family had escaped and fled from southern Lebanon since beginning of October to find safety. We were obviously extremely upset once we found out the visa had to go through administrative processing because #1 we want to finally be with each other and start our lives together and 2 which is so important I want to get my fiancé to safety and bring him over to me. He has been impacted heavily during this conflict with him fleeing from his home and his family's home getting damaged due to the bombardments around it. It has been such a traumatizing hard time recently and not knowing when we will hear back from them about his visa is absolutely heart shattering. I searched it up what reasons could possibly be counted to expediate his process or hear something back and I saw somewhere where they mentioned a humanitarian reason could be a good reason to have your case expedited. He is suffering from this conflict tremendously wouldn't this be considered a "humanitarian reason"?? I know it has only been a month but the conflict is still going on and were living with extreme anxiety and depression due to it and due to the wait..  Please any advice could help.

Good luck and best wishes for you .please keep us updated .we are the in the situation as you

I'm not even sure the CO's at the embassy have any idea how long it can take. Based on this post, it sounds like it goes on behind closed doors among other staff, and thus total AP time may not be known to the CO's:

Thus I would take whatever estimated time they give with a grain of salt. They may just me giving random estimates based on hearsay. 😕

I’m in the situation also , my Russian fiancé just got her 221G I’m not sure how long it will take after we submit the requested documents. in our case they requested more documents

This is correct.  Sorry, but the rules are firm.  You'll need to start from the beginning with an I-130 petition.

That marriage thing at the mosque was recently done a couple of months ago. we didn’t even take that paper with us to the interview so maybe now I’m guessing that we don’t even need to send that as a proof of relationship as it might be more problem for her and us.

Okay.   Well, you need to get a certified copy of the decree from the court, which will have the raised seal.

Such documents can be falsified, which is why they require originals.   (“Certified copy” is the same as original).

    Are there other red flags?

I went to the court and I asked them they told me you have the original divorce decree. And the court has the same original degree that I have .I live in Texas. I think they asked her about the original and she told him that I have them and they probably got confused but she had to scan and print the documents of divorce decree I sent to her email

    What!?!   You got married already???

Well, she won’t be getting a fiancé visa.   Getting married made her inimitable for that visa.   You need to petition her for a spousal visa.

I got married to her a couple of months ago on my last visit to Moscow. When the documents were actually being transferred from Poland to Jerusalem, so now I feel that we don’t need to submit that paper from the mask with the proof of relationship documents. It’s not a marriage certificate from court. It’s just from the mosque. I’m not sure if it’s still a big deal to them.

It's best to take all originals to the interview for the consul to inspect.  The consul can make copies there, if you need or want the originals back.

Sincere sympathies.  Provide what they need, and this should end the 221g status.

I’m just wondering what else proof of relationship she needs to stay with her or we need to send again. I just took photos of chats and call logs. I did a new intent to Marry and also got married in the mosque and I have a paper saying that me and her got married at the Mosque in Moscow. Would this would be a good proof too?

But your divorce decree should have been submitted with the petition.   Was it?

Yes, it was actually submitted with the petition as USCIS asked for the original divorce decree. But to mention that she is Russian and we had to request a visa transfer from Warsaw Poland to Jerusalem so I’m not sure if I got lost but they did ask for the divorce decree again.

These are very basic items.   Did you file a petition without evidence of being legally able to marry, IE termination of prior marriages?

AP is a black hole, and there is no set timeline for it.   She may or may not have to attend another interview.   I’m sure it is annoying since it requires travel, but it seems you left out some required documentation.

She took 10 photos with her and a copy of my Russian Visa showing I traveled to Russia 3 times the past 3 years . She also took plane  tickets and boarding passes . she took my divorce decree with her. I think the only mistake she did about that she scanned and printed the paper and instead of taking the original documents. but the printed papers looks exactly like the original. we actually thought we went prepared.
