  1. Anyone know if we are meant to receive a notification when the passports have left the embassy?
  2. It is now Tuesday PM and the status says administrative processing so I am guessing we won’t have the passports back before Thursday 😢
  3. Yes it would be sooo much simpler you could just walk out with your passport in hand 😅
  4. Hi all, We had our interview Friday morning (15th March) and were approved 🎉 But of course the anxious wait is still not over as we are waiting to see if our passports will be ready to be collected before we fly out on Thursday 😅 Judging from other people’s stories on here, passports are usually ready within 3 working days…but I realize we’re cutting it extremely fine. The reason why we decided to risk it and book the flight for Thursday is because the ticket prices were going up massively from Friday. We booked flexible tickets so it’s possible to change it in the worst case scenario but there are other consequences like car rental and hotel bookings so I really want to be able to fly out on Thursday…! I know there is nothing anyone can do about this so I’m not looking for an advice or anything but what do you guys think? Will we get the passports back by the end of Wednesday??
  5. FYI. we got our IL this month (on Feb 9) so it might be that the next batch of ILs win’t go out until early March now.
  6. Thanks @appleblossom! I hope so - we are all a part of the same case and have the same appointment so should be ok. The worst thing that could happen is perhaps my husband’s passport and the rest of our passports arrive in separate shipments… still I wonder if I should enquire the embassy. Anyone know how easy it is to contact them with a question?
  7. So, I proceeded to register my husband’s details and left it at that…and then realized that I really should have registered all of us. so I then added the kids and myself, but now my husband is in one group and the rest of us are in a separate group…would this be an issue in any way at a later date? We are all listed with the same Case ID and the same intervew date/time, so hopefully registering the same appointment in two gos won’t matter…? (Now I’m worried 😩)
  8. We received our IL last week and are trying to register the appointment and passport collection. After entering all the details for my husband who is the main applicant, we were asked if we wanted to register any other applicants - do we need to do this for myself and the children? (My guess is no, since we are dependents) Perhaps @appleblossom can shed some light on this?
  9. @KevL You must have woken up to an IL this morning because I also did!! We are having our interview on March 15 🙂 My visa status on CEAC is still ‘At NVC’ though.
  10. Finally got my IL 🎉😭 DQ: Jan 3 Interview: March 15 Medical is already done so just have to sit patiently for another 5 weeks😅
  11. WOW congrats! So it probably means the Feb ILs are going out tomorrow??! What is your DQ date? We got DQ on Jan 3 and CEAC still says ‘At NVC’ 😅 It’s been a month since DQ so I was hoping we’d made the cutoff for Feb…
  12. Anyone else anticipating their IL this month? We were DQ on Jan 3, so hoping to get our IL very soon! I believe the ILs went out on the 13th last month, so hopefully in the next couple of weeks...
  13. No one seems to be reporting on the UK regional boards that they've received their ILs so they probably haven't gone out yet. Last month was Dec 13, so you might get your IL in the next coupe of days 🙂
  14. I thought your prediction was only for ILs for the London embassy! 😂 In any case, did you receive yours this morning? I hope you did!
  15. Oh wow, you definitely deserve an IL tomorrow morning then (unlike me who only got DQ on 2nd January 😅) - let's hope it happens tomorrow!
  16. We are yet to book our medical appointment but have just got the summary care records from the GP. Like you, we also have info from years ago listed as if it's ongoing - for example, my 14-year old son suffered from acid reflux as a baby and that's still listed as an ongoing condition! I haven't done anything to get that updated as 1) it's such a pain to request anything from our GP and 2) I'm kind of assuming that visa medicals have the common sense to not worry about this... but should I at least try and get it updated?
  17. @snm2212 Are you waiting for an IL yourself? If so, when did you get DQ?
  18. @Laulau I'd recommend a visit to the regional board: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/
  19. Do you want to bet money on it? 😂
  20. Yes I guess the holiday season has a lot to do with the irregular pattern - but with the last batch going out on Dec 13, they probably won't wait until the end of January particularly if there is a backlog that built up over the holiday period... I know i'm being inpatient - after all, it's only been 2 days since we got DQ 😂
  21. Oh I see, so you were expecting to get your IL at the end of November based on the past trend but no ILs were sent until Dec 13... either the trend has changed or it's all random but I guess no one can predict when the next batch will be sent out (I'm tired of this endless guessing game 😅) I really hope they will send out the next batch at the end of Jan - if it ends up going out in mid-Jan, we probably won't have made it...
  22. What a relief... thatnks @dabursot2 !! BTW, I thought it was really strange that the DQ letter is in a .rtf format 😂
  23. Happy New Year everyone - I hope that 2024 brings you everything your heart desires (including those Green Cards!). So, I think we have finally been DQ'd... only the latter from the NVC does not explicitly state that our documents have been approved. Is this normal? It says: The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to scheduling your immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy overseas. NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in London, Great Britain And Northern Ireland to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner, and attorney (if applicable). ...etc They are clearly referring our case to the embassy so I know that we are moving in the right direction, but I feel slightly anxious because I'm sure I've seen other people on here receiving letters with phrases along the lines of 'your documents have been approved'. We are EB1 - I'm wondering if DQ letters for EB cases are worded differently than those for other (i.e. family-based) cases? Also, assuming that this is a legit DQ letter, and considering it was sent on January 3, do you think we have missed a cut-off? Last year, there seemed to be a cut-off at the end of December, and people who got DQ at the beginning of January didn't get their ILs until February. Do you think we are looking at an IL in Feb and an interview date in March? Many thanks in advance!
  24. Thanks you guys! Either way, I’m glad we won’t have to pay a fortune for one-way flights. I’ll definitely look into refundable return flights!
  25. Hi everyone, I’m sorry if this has already been discussed but I’m wondering if people usually buy one-way tickets or return tickets when they permanently move to the US. I am only asking because one-way tickets are so much more expensive than return tickets! Are you allowed to buy return tickets, fly to the US and simply not show up for the return flight? Or would that amount to some kind of violation of T&Cs?
