  1. Just for curiosity's sake... What about those people who are ahead of us in Igor's list? Do we know for sure if they are still waiting for NOAs, or if they just have dropped off the radar? We are now # 39 on the list, but it seems there are still a number of February filers waiting, not to mention March filers.

I am #19 and still very active, also I can see at least 3 before me also active. But the list is by no means 100% accurate as to when you will be up next. But if you take a look at the spots where people are dropping off the list, I.E. people currently at about #35, then take the number of people between you and #35 multiply by 0.8 (20% dirty data) and then divide by the average NOA2's per day , you can get a fair estimate of when your turn will be.

  2. Hey Guys and Gals quick question.

All my papers that were sent to the VSC state me and my fiancée will live at my Oakland drive location (my parents house were I live now) I recently bought a house and settlement is august 5th. on my I-134 I put I currently reside at my parents house (assuming I get my noa2 by august 5th) I am also putting that I own real estate with a mortgage of 170,000 (my soon to be new house). Not sure if it matters but my current salary is 42,000.

My question is should me and my fiancée just keep going with the story that we will still live at my parents house since my parents aren’t moving? Or during the interview should my fiancée tell them that I just purchased a house? And update the address of my new house on any documents she brings for the interview?

    thanks

    Congratulations.

  3. Talked to a real person today, and my have got a possible expedite on my case. For the past 1.5 months I have been trying to get an answer if they would move my petition back to the original receipt date of when they lost the original.

I finally found the menu extension that took the request, and they will make a decision with in 5 days.

It felt really good to have something to be active with.

  4. Under normal processing if Vermont was processing K-1s as fast as they were receiving them, it would be expected to process about 22% of marches visa's each week.

When Vermont started processing early march visas in April. It is now almost 3 months later and they are still processing march visas.

Yesterday I think they decided to Psyche us with no visas after 6 being completed Monday.

March visas completed on a weekly basis.

Today I am trying to decided if I will make one more trip to the Ukraine next week. Because unless things change,I believe it is at least 1 month before we get to April 7's.

  5. HiTech does that mean have them all registered on USCIS ?? To be honest I would feel really uncomfortable if I thought someone had done that with our receipt number. I know there is no personal info but its a little close to the line. I'd hate to think that my NOA2 had been broadcast on here before Alan and I had even had chance to open the email.

No one could broadcast this unless you posted your receipt number. All the information disclosed on the USCIS is 100% public information, and you could receive this information threw the freedom of information act simply by writing a request for it. With out any information about who the visa is for, the receipt number is completely arbitrary.

  6. Boy, you guys are quiet today. Trying to maintain your sanity I suppose. ;)

I thought this was interesting... for a break tonight I went over the first 20 filers on Igor's list...

    Your list is slight incorrect.

    #20 should read.

20 becoming insane waiting as he does calculation and realizes the estimated number of days to arrival is exactly the same as the day he sent in the 129F.

Also just noticed my time line in my signature reads 3 , 3 , 3. I really hope it never reads 4,4,4

  7. Hi tech...I can see what you are trying to do now....lol

Must admit it took me a while.... :)

i guess if it makes you pass the time it is good for you...but in my opinion the USCIS process is just about people working with people... And it is very difficult to put everything into mathematic formulas... Each case is different... and each case is handled by a human being...which we call Adjudicators... Sometimes we do wish they were machines and we could predict their work...But they are not...

We have all noticed that lately (don't know about months ago...) USCIS is shooting out the NOA2 in more or less a chronological order which can only be good news for all of us...

Your NOA1 is early april...so according to "my calculations" your NOA2 will come in a couple weeks ;)

see if i'm right about that...:D

i agree that Igor's list algorythm should use the NOA1 date and not the day you send out or they receive petition...

if you can develop a software that can take into consideration all the petitions filed and not only those that voluntarily subscribe...that would be interesting...

Yet...i see Igor's list like a sort of election exit poll. Even if you only took a very small percentage of all voters....from different regions, social and age groups...your result would still be only plus/minus 0.5 - 1 % different than after the final count...

so what we see on Igor's list is pretty much realistic...

Just a couple things i would change.... NOA1 date in stead of petition sent...and also profiles that are not active for about 30 days should be excluded......

Am i making any sense???? lol

Aleena, Igors list is nothing but a simple query generated from VJ. I find his stats page to be most useful in predicting when visas would be finished.

If you look at this query from VJ.

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...ll&dfile=No

Vermont seems to be on about 3-17 NOA1.

Count the number of open visas between there and 4-7 (my date) aproximately 35.

Now with igors stats you can estimate that currently they are processing between 5 - 10 visas per week. So a fair estimate would be 3.5 - 7 weeks.

You are correct that you can not 100% predict each case, and I have been studding the complete process including reading all the Adjudicators manual. But there are methods to have predictions change much more rapidly and hence give a better overall picture.

  8. Hi Tech. Your time will come very soon. Probably in a week to 10 days. If you would modify your timeline to the day you sent the second petition, then your dates would be a little more accurate. You're skewing Capt Ewok's algorithm. I think yours would probably say something like June 26-July 4. His statistical model is designed (I believe) predicting that 65% of the cases will be approved by the first date and 85% by the second date.

Since the Feb one was lost, it's like it didn't really happen (except in your heart and brain) but you know what I mean...to the USCIS it was a new petition at the very end of March. So sorry you had to wait that month wondering where your NOA1 was and then effectively start over.

Nick, from what I can see of Capt Ewoks projection model, it makes the assumption of constancy in uscis, I.E. today the average wait time is 90 days, so add 90 days to you date and this is your projected date. (I over simplify because computing the average date includes many filters.) While this method of computation has good and bad aspects. But when USCIS changes what they currently are working on, it is not very accurate.

Another method can be used to compute the time, it looks at how many are in the queue before you and how many are processed per day. The advantage of this method is that it reacts more quickly to changes of the USCIS. Using this method, I think NOA2 date of April 7 is about 4 - 5 weeks out. Of course this assumes Vermont continues to process at the given rate but when they change , this method will react very quickly to the change.

As to my time line screwing the numbers, not really, it is the accurate time of being sent. But because Capt Ewok is using Send date to project instead of NOA1 date, the projection is not accurate in my case.

  9. where are those codes from? what website??

Looks like he's hacking into the USCIS online tracking of your individual case numbers by entering a sequence of numbers. Well, not hacking in exactly, because anybody could do it, but that's kinda getting into peoples privacy areas. The timelines here are voluntary reporting, but I wonder if you should be doing that? That's created by the government for people to check their own cases as a convenience. Just my opinion.

It's not going to get us approved any faster. We file....we wait....we celebrate

It is not hacking, nor is it getting into private information. The information on the USCIS is all public domain information (per there sight information). There is nothing private about it, because the case numbers do not disclose anything about the person, only the type of case and if it is complete or not.

You are correct the information does not directly help get a visa any faster, but the biggest frustration I have had with this process is not having any idea when the visa would be complete. Also the complete lack of real information from the USCIS.

With the database I have been building I can see like what set of files are in the same box. We will be able to see when the USCIS switches from one type of forum to the other.

For instance right now I show about 33 K1's at Vermont with an NOA1 date of Aprox March 17. 5 are approved (2 were yesterday) 1 denied and 27 pending.

    And on a side note.

It really sucks being number 20 on Igors list. To all with a number less than mine, I feel your pain.

  10. I have been working on some software to give us much better tracking information from the USCIS.

the following are very close to all the K-1s with a NOA1 date of about March 16 this year from the vermont office, they all have the Receipt number EAC08118XXXXX

For a feeling of scale , on this day Vermont processed about 2300 request of all types.

As things advanced further, I will have much more detailed for every day with all receipts filed.

  11. The April person probably had some special reason why it had to be expedited. They have done so before for very serious circumstances and such. Or maybe they really filed a year ago and it got lost and found and lost, so the VSC gave them a break and sped it up. You never know, but it was probably for a good reason. They haven't forgotten you guys . This time is probably the hardest, when you are getting real close and the waiting and checking USCIS for updates has lost it's excitement and gotten too disappointing. I got the the point where I totally quit checking it for about 3 weeks. It was making me too gloomy. :(

Powerless (the two minute word)--good job Ana. Just think how all the waiting and chatting in English is giving you lots of practice. We'll have to throw some big words at you to challenge you. I truly admire those of you that speak mulitple languages. You know what's funny? As I read your posts, I imagine your voices in my Texas accent. It would be a riot to hear everybody speak. I'm used to Nick's British accent, but when he would message about his kids, I was imagining them differently. The first time I heard them talk, it was "OMG your kids are British!" Duh!

    (L) I miss Erin (L) and I hope she's working her way back to happy smiles.

Nich-Nick: I filed to Vermont 12 days before you sent yours, right now it still feels about 1 month out in processing time.

  12. This is most of the K-1s submitted to Vermont on April 3 with an NOA1 date of April 6.

  13. From what you state, you lack proof of a relationship , not lack of proof of having met. These are different items, while photos can show you have met, photos can not normally show, unless they are from drastically different times over a lengthy perode, proof of a relationship.

For this things like phone bills , emails show better then pictures a relationship. Or visa stamps from a number of trips. Copies of yahoo conversation. Any thing that shows you have a ongoing communication and a relationship.
