I hope you got the answer , you don’t need an appointment letter go to the next stage, when your case is ready you can go ahead and as you schedule for an interview.

How do you schedule an interview? I thought the embassy had to do that for you. Or is that embassy dependent? The embassy we're going through said we have to submit the ds-160, i-134, and other forms first before we can schedule an interview.

Well I was hoping if we got approved, I could move out and be ready for him to move in to an apartment. I will only do this if I get a full time job though. I live in WA where our minimum wage is decently high so if i get a full time job I will make well over the required income. Does this sound okay?

Have you been on any government assistance before? If not, then you are likely fine. The i-134 is much less strict. The I-864 is much more strict about income, which you fill out after you get married.

Congratulations ☺️ It might just be a late "in transit" CEAC update? This forum is my only source on the Tuesday/Wednesday bi-monthly shipping pattern so no idea whether it's still accurate...

I don't think so. I did the "shipping hack" and there is nothing. I checked the website tracking ever day and it only updated today. The email they sent me had a document dated for today.

My concerns and hers are due to the escalating tensions between countries in the region and the possibility of a war. There's also the morality police who may target her due to her social media presence which is pretty high.

You'd have to demonstrate that its more than just a concern and show its highly likely she'd face danger.

The k1 process only takes around 10 to 13 months currently.

  5. Do you plan to continue to live with your parents? If so, then you will probably be fine if your mom helps sponsoring. They look at household income in addition to personal income.

If you plan to move out soon on your own, you'll definitely want to boost your income, even with a sponsor. There are some cases where people are denied even with a sponsor since they have low income and have previously been on welfare.

Assets contribute to income too, so remember to add up any savings you may have too.

  6. I just got this email from the NVC, saying its been 60 days and

Where local conditions and restrictions allow, some embassies and consulates have resumed processing a limited visa workload, including K-1 nonimmigrant visa applications. For embassies and consulates that were unable to resume processing their visa workload, NVC is holding your approved Form I-129F. We cannot predict when routine visa services will resume, and we cannot guarantee or predict when your case will be sent to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General in Kuala Lumpur. When NVC does forward your case, you will receive another notification.

Approved Forms I-129F have a 120-day expiration date from the date of approval by USCIS. Once your designated embassy or consulate resumes normal operations, a consular officer will revalidate your petition for another 120 days. You do not need to take any action for this revalidation to happen, though you may need to provide evidence that you still qualify for the K-1 nonimmigrant visa.

    Well, its something. Thats good?

  7. I think you're suppose to provide recent pay stubs too, to show your income/job is current. If you do that, then the W-2 wouldn't be necessary I wouldn't think.

Sounds like maybe it's time for another public inquiry. Also I have had quicker responses with the embassy who has confirmed that it was received there and she will receive an email with further instructions, but she still doesn't have an email. So we're still just waiting to submit the DS-160 and working on getting all of the documents lined up.

They replied but didn't tell me anything new.

Hey, from what I understand, it is different with each embassy. Forms are generally sent in batches once an embassy tells the NVC they are ready for more petitions. Have you done an NVC public inquiry or emailed the embassy yet? Those would be my next steps. And just wait and see. 😒

I did a public inquiry to get my case number, but thats it. What should I asked exactly?

The timeline stats say the average processing time is 17 days, but its been over 40 days for us..... Just feels like something must be wrong?

Also, inside the attached PDF below are a few tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so they have been very helpfully put together by senior VJ Member Greenbaum for you to refer to when necessary. If you are new to this thread, please read these first as these are the most asked questions.

This is so helpful! I know what date my case number was created now, so I can add that to my timeline. I know it was sent to NVC on Feb 29th and now I'm just waiting every day waiting for the next step. I'm learning now that I should be filling out the DS-160 asap. I didn't know about that form (its not mentioned anywhere in the k1 guides?)
I'm trying to learn everything I can while waiting!

  11. I'm confused by what it means by "Income Contribution to the Beneficiary Annually". Its in Part 2 and Part 3. I read somewhere on here that I should just list 0 in part 2 and list my annual income on part 3? The way its worded makes me unsure about it. Should I list an estimate of my expected income this year, or should I list last year's income? If my paycheck is $200 a week, I should include a receipt of that and just multiply that by 52 weeks and say thats my income from my employed job? And then just add that to my last year's self-employment income (which I expect to be similar this year)?

For this part, I can only select A OR B, but i'm employed AND self employed. Do I need to just print it and mark that in manually and explain it in part 8 additional information?

Thanks. I'm just wanting to make sure I do it right since my employment income is kinda on the edge of the 100% poverty line for a 3 person household. My assets are worth around $70k, not including the house, so money isn't too much an issue, but i'm worried low employment income might be problematic? With a large amount of cash + stock assets, it should be fine, right?
