Bring in some photos with your family members or your husband's family members in it...or photos with friends...or even letter from a relative or friend stating that your relationship is real.
Starburst is right, even a joint gym membership or a costco card will do...good luck..

We just got back from our interview in San Francisco..it was very easy and quick...The interviewer asked for our passport ,my husband's ID, and my EAD. He asked my name, my husband's name and our address..He then asked when and where did we meet and asked me the same questions in I-485 about terrorism and stuff which I all anwered "NO".He then asked for our proof of documents together, I gave him joint bank accounts and credit cards, my husband's paystub for 2 months and had me sign a paper...He asked a little bit about our families, about my mom and dad, and my husband's parents,he asked for pictures and we're done...He approved me right away...he even forgot to get my AP which I asked if he needs, and he said " Oh yeah,,I need that".. He said that I should be receiving my GC in about 2 to 3 weeks...
The whole interview process only lasted about 10 minutes...He didn't asked for my husband's W2's and income tax return..we brought so much papers with us but fortunately, he only asked for few...
To all the beautiful people of Visa Journey....THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I think he needs a professional help...You don't have to have sex with him if you don't want to...and the thing that he's telling you that he's the one bringing the bread in the house is not right...!!

Hi,
How old was your son when you and your husband got married?
If he was under 18, your husband as a USC can file for him as a stepchild and your son won't have to wait for a visa number.
Really? so it will be a fast processing then? My son is under 18...thank you for the information..

Thanks guys for the comfort...made me feel better...

Hi Haole, wish we could but it's tough time..by the way, if you don't mind my asking, how did you go through stepchildrens adoption?Kababayan tayo..just want to have an idea..thanks
The adoption here in Hawaii was VERY easy. I hired a lawyer and he did it all for $1,000. I guess I could have done it myself but I was burned out on paperwork from the immigration process. It only took 1 1/2 months from start to finish.
Anak was eligible for her US citizenship a few months later and I applied for her US Passport and she got it.
That's nice...I guess we'll do the same once my son gets here..thank you..

Thanks SDW..glad to know...I was just worried that if he doesn't come now on his K2 visa, we will be having a hard time sponsoring him when his K2 expires...such a relief to know..

Hi guys..I am currently waitng for my AOS, I came here in the US under K1 visa, I have a son back home. He is supposed to follow me this summer but with this kind of economy looks like it is not just a good time for us..And my son told me he still want to stay back home. I dont have my EAD yet so I still don't work, and my husband is working but he doesnt make a lot and he is doing a little bit of schooling..
My question is, will my husband be able to sponsor my son under the I-130 or does it have to be me to be the sponsor? I will only be a conditional resident by then. Thanks for any input....

Congratulations!!! You know I noticed too that whether they are government employees or not, they're not so very friendly....I am not a canadian but l lived in Canada for almost 5 years and I gotta say I love Canadians...if it's not for my husband, I wouldn't leave Canada ...sigh.....
Anyway, happy for you....

LOL!! I watched it too... it was funny when Susan told Jackson that he shouldn't worry to much because Canada is just like US with free healthcare....
it's like she's saying it's even better in Canada...

i forgot what was the airport closest to the embassy..but it sure is still far compared to if you're going to take the train...When I had my interview I was going to take the plane but I found out that the train station was just 10 minutes walk to the embassy...saves me money from taking the taxi...and train is cheaper too.. although it's about 4 1/2 hours from toronto but it's all worth it.

I stayed at La Tour Centreville for the reason that it is so close to the US embassy and like Misty said, a lot of people having there interviews stays here too..It is ok if your just looking for place to sleep.I like the mini kitchen...

thanks for the fast reply ... I think he wants to stay for one or one and a half year back home

yap ..you gotta include it..like barron said,it's just a piece of paper and it wouldn't hurt to include it...it's better to have more than they ask for than not having enough..you will get an RFE and it's going to delay your processing time

i just want to say sorry..I felt like I watched a movie after reading your post....I hope you'll be fine..just be strong

Hello folks, just want to ask, I came in the U.S on K1 visa and now in the process of waiting for my AOS, I have a son back home..he is suppose to have interview (K2) in June..but it looks like he is not ready yet to come here...I think he wants to spend more time with my family back home...what's going to happen if he doesnt attend on his interview? or if he does and he gets his Visa but fails to come to U.S and his visa expires, what's gonna happen? will I or my husband (or both of us) still be able to sponsor him?..thanks for any info...
what forms to use for k2
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted · Edited by angie007
hi everybody,I am a little bit confused right now about what forms should I use for my son for his AOS. I came here as a K1 holder 10 months ago, had my conditional green card and everything. My son just got here this month (January 2010), on a k2 visa. Do i use the same forms i used when I filed for my aos (I-485)? or does he have to use different forms? Please a little info would help a lot...thanks in advance
