  1. Hey Nesah we didn’t have to give any reasoning. The fact that the embassy is backlogged is enough and NVC will know that. You need to have residency at the state for the embassy you want to transfer to. You need certain documents. Once you have those to prove residency in the state you just go to NVC inquiry form and submit a request to transfer and upload the supporting documents. Lawyers will tell you to also contact the embassy to transfer that but that’s not true. I only submitted the request to NVC and they easily transferred him within 5 days. You will just have to decide where you want to transfer to and then get the proper documentation. Also research an embassy that does not have backlog. I heard Benin also has interviews available sooner
  2. Hi House my husbands case just got transferred to Sierra Leone this morning. I’m very happy about this as he was originally at Lagos Nigeria which is backlogged by a year. does anyone know what the wait time is for an interview at Freetown Sierra Leone? I was at first hearing it was 6-8 weeks to get an interview letter but recently now I’m hearing 3-4 months wait time for an interview letter. Honestly coming from the Lagos embassy I am so grateful and both sound so wonderful compared to 12-14 month wait. But I am curious. let me know if you have any information about wait times for interviews at Sierra Leone! thank you and God bless
  3. Update! My husband and I got him transferred for Freetown Sierra Leone embassy. Praise God! Does anyone know how long it is taking for an interview to be scheduled there? We literally got the approval for his transfer today and our portal now says Freetown for his embassy instead of Lagos.
  4. No interview scheduled yet. The embassy he is assigned to is backlogged a yeary which is why we are transferring. I will request through NVC - thank you!
  5. Yes, he has residency in Sierra Leone. we are transferring case there. Do you know how we requests it? Do we make the requests through NVC
  6. Okay - yes it seems we are just in it for the long haul again but at least we are half way through. Thank you for your response. We will bid our time. Yes not worth it. We will pray and wait and he will be here in one more year then
  7. Hi my husband and I are DQ as of May 5 2023 and I understand it is 1 year turn around to receive IL from NVC. I’ve heard some people have transferred this case to a different region and have been able to schedule an interview a lot sooner there. What is the process for this? Can anyone advice? Would this be an option for us? I am a native US citizen and he is native Nigerian. any response is helpful thank you
  8. Do you know the process to transfer the case to another country to get an interview sooner? I’ve heard Cameroon or Togu. What does this process look like?
  9. Hi, my husband and I have completed everything without any problems. We have an attorney and all of our documents have been accepted so now we are just waiting to get his interview letter. I’m curious how long it typically takes for an immigration interview to be scheduled through NVC with the Lagos embassy. Does anyone have any clue? I can only find info about non immigration visas We are very excited and very blessed. I appreciate any response to this thanks
