People including myself are always saying that people that come to the US on a tourist visa with intent to marry and stay are committing fraud and are subject to being deported and banned.
Anyone have a link showing this actually having occured and were deported or banned?
I don't have a link but I know a family friend's daughter had a deportation order for committing fraud. She married the son of also a family friend for immigration purpose. They were both 19. They messed it up during the AOS interview.

Oh, my! I didn't know that my opinion would generate such a strong reaction from some! Thanks, B&Gie for defending my silent husband, hahaha!
I've lost track of what has been posted here so for now, I will zipppp it! Goodnight, peeps!
Goodnight attorney! I bet you miss working already. They probably don't know that you are a lawyer and had helped many Filipinas that's why you are being quoted because you talk like a well...a lawyer. HAHAHA! That's why I know where you are coming from. Hey! Im here in Florida already. I got here January 12th. Yesterday was the most amazing moment cuz I couldnt believe that Im finally with my fiancee. Today, we were trying to open a joint account and they wouldnt let us cuz I dont have SSN yet. When I got home, I just bursted out crying, my fiancee was so worried. Yeah, Im so disoriented right now. But Im all ok now. I dont know why i cried, probably because Im used to being a donya and it suddenly hit me...no more Yaya Arlyn... no more Mang Lito (my driver). I remembered your post that's why I visited your profile and that's how I came across this thread. So now, Im all better now and Im ready to drop the spoiled brat attitude. My son is adjusting pretty quickly. He impressed two people today. One was the lady from the bank who told me that he was so well behaved and he speaks english fluently. The other was the salesman from the mattress store when he heard him reading the prices like $799, $899 etc. and was amazed when we told him that he is only three years old. How are you doing? There's work already waiting for me and I feel so fortunate. But for now, I will enjoy the months that I wont be working.

Thank you Bheng! Hugs and kisses from Tampa to Nampa! Hanggang ngayon, damayan pa rin tayo a! Thank you my dearest friend! Mwah!

THANK YOU ALMIGHTY GOD
This afternoon, while cooking for dinner, I received the magic text from DELBROS:
"Delbros delivers! Please be inform that we are now preparing for dispatch of the visa for MNL 2008 XXX XXX XX.
To track the visa, log in to www.delbros.com. Thank u."
I was in shock for a couple of hours, I think I am still in shock... Now I understand how it feels to be stuck somewhere counting countless days and after those painful days, there is this day that I thought will never come, but my day today became so magical, now I can say, the waiting is all worth it...
I'LL SEE YOU SOON MY JEFF... I AM SUPER EXCITED...
Thanks VJ friends and this thread for keeping me company during the painful waiting days... God bless you all...
CONGRATS jeffcloe!!! Lika na! Buy ka na ticket! Alis na tayo sa Jan 12! Dali!!! COngrats again!

Hi, Steven!!! Belated Merry X-mas and a Happy New Year to you, Jinky, Job and Josh.Question 1 - for American men: Did you seek out Filipinas through a dating agency or marriage broker, and if so, why?
My hubby had a profile in an international dating service but we did not meet there as he was not even looking for a Filipina but his dad encouraged him to look for a Filipina wife. Dad (my father-in-law) worked in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for several years and the Filipinas he met there that were married to Americans impressed him very much.
Question 2 - for the Filipinas: Did you ever place an ad or set up a profile with any international dating agency or marriage broker, and if so, why?No, because I was not interested in meeting a guy, local or foreign. Husband and I met by chance on a Northwest flight. Talk about love made in heaven. He was flying back to the US from his third trip to the Philippines while I was flying to Florida for a short holiday.
Question 3 - for the American men: What are the differences (including physical) between your Filipina spouse and your ex-wife?Doug was never married before he met me.
Question 5 - for the Filipinas: What are the differences (including physical, age) between your kano spouse and your last boyfriend or ex-husband?My ex was extremely jealous and possessive. Hubby is the exact opposite.
Our 2nd X-mas together
Ate Cora! That was so romantic... meeting someone on your flight. Hahaha! So you and your husband were seatmates? I bet you didn't mind the long flight! I always fly Northwest but no luck with my seatmate. Hey, Im heading to Florida this January 12.
Happy New Year Ate COra!

Gusto ko lang i share althoug this is kinda late... I was in the US New Year 2007 and my gosh...the most boring new year ever! I was alone in the house... my uncle went around New York to check on his stores, my cousin was working in his store, my aunt was in florida to check their stores... me? I walked around the neighborhood (Forest Hills) and went to this street full of shops. But the shops were closed and the ones open were Rite-Aid, CVS pharmacy. So I contented myself with window shopping in those stores... like reading and discovering moisturizers, shampoo, make ups and even diet pills. Then my new year dinner was at Mc Donald's (other restaurants were closed). I ordered my new year meal and the girl behind the counter gave me that stern look when I handed a $100 bill. Hey, its new year I want to have a hundred dollar bill in my pocket. Hehehe! Anyway, I used my credit card instead cuz I dont have a smaller bill. Then after that, I went inside the church and stayed there for three hours, praying to all saints (St Jude, St Anthony, St. Therese )lighted all the candles and just sat there in silence. Yep, that's new year in the US... when you go out, its like ghost town. So my fiancee understood my decision to spend the holidays here. Im leaving on January 12. I will be spending the next holidays in the US but I think it will be better cuz this time, I won't be alone. My son and fiancee will be with me. Now, that's an improvment.

I used to be a jewelry designer so it was my call. I had our rings made here in Philippines. When my fiancee brought it back to the US, the custom official almost charged him tax cuz he said it looked like its worth a lot (which really were not).

I am trying to cram too much into my brain and have been reading conflicting things:
#1 I read somewhere that DOCUMENT VERIFICATION is no longer needed.
When I look at the K-1 Visa guide it says you need it
Call US Embassy at (02) 301-2000 and press 0 for operator. Ask the operator to connect you to DELBROS then ask them if you want to be sure. They are the company that forwards your documents to NSO for verification.
#2 My finance has to fill out DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157. DS-156 has to been done electronically? Can she print copies after it is done? I am worried whether or not she can find a place that will open this form. My computer won't even do it and it is better than the ones in the Internet Cafes over there.
YES
#3 Packet 4 is only available online? The links in the guide don't take me to packet 4. Where is it located?
I never had any packets. I think someone posted here the links.
#4 Also when she schedules an interview do they give her a date or can she choose a soon one? If they give her a date how far away is the interview from when she call to schedule it. We would like it ASAP.
The call center will give you or your fiancee available dates for interview. You can choose whatever date you think is best for you.
#5 Does she absolutely need the letter that the USE sends her? She no longer lives at her address and we do not want to mess with changing it. Her sister still lives there but does she have to be present to accept it?
No, she doesnt have to be at your sister's house to accept the letter. She needs that letter to present at SLEC for medical. Also in the letter is your case number which you will be needing to schedule an interview.
Thank you very much- You are welcome.

2 thru 6 is fine.
I don't know what #1 is
I suggest you go to China town and pick up some "Coach" luggage for luggage and purses and bring them to USA
Woman in USA love those things.
AHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

1. No.
2. Yes. I joined www.match.com, just because I wanted to meet friends in my area when I stayed in New York. The best way to go around a new place is with a local. Didn't meet my fiancee thru that though. Instead, I had a stalker.
3. No ex-wife but my Filipina fiancee has a good heart- very loving and fun to be with.
5. My USC fiancee is very responsible and the most secure person Ive ever known. He trusts me 100%. He lets me be me. My ex is the exact opposite.

I would say there are plenty of US Citizens, born and raised, if you weeded them out, who have eaten some pretty disgusting things. I also saw that post as an insult.
I once offended my wife by stereotyping and refering to "you asians...". Never again.... It was an innocent mistake on my part, but a thoughtless and insensitive mistake as well.

As Ive said, the pic is really cute! I laughed when I saw it but coming from an American, saying that HOTDOG is Filipinos' favorite food...well uhm you really can't help but read between the lines. HOTDOG is not an original Filipino food... the title is so wrong. Why didn't he say Americans' favorite food? But then again, Im so used to tallcoolone being so insensitive or trying to start something...like an outrage! lol!

The pic is cute but the title is very wrong.
To other Vjers (not Filipinos)- this is not Filipinos' favorite food. It was just a joke...but a bad joke indeed.

CONGRATS Jaser!!!
Cloe and tedjen, konting tiis na lang!
Eto na, I bought our ticket na. This is non-refundable and change will cost me $150 each so I have a date na. My son and I are leaving on JANUARY 9, 2009 via Northwest Airlines, my POE will be LA. Anyone with the same flight?

Me too, I find it strange that its a no no to mention kids and work during interview. You are applying for fiancee visa for heaven's sake. Don't you talk about future plans like having kids and money matters before getting married??? I dont believe the consul doesnt want to hear your fiancee wants to work. The consul wants to hear from your fiancee that worse comes to worst, your fiancee will help you with financial matters and not just sit and watch you kill yourself by working for the family or be a public burden. That's all. Just give what they want.
By the way, I put yes on the question if I intend to work on DS156.

Getting divorced ad remarrying is no major issue, very American
And new hubbie can file to adjust your status, might be an interesting interview. But how it would go is anybodys guess
Divorce and remarry -A lot of people went through that without greencard involved.
