  1. I'm stuck just like you! My NOA2 was approved from CSC on June 19th and it has been 7 weeks tomorrow and still has not made it to the NVC. I did call CSC yesterday and spoke with someone. They told me they had a good idea what happened to my file and that they will have to "order it" I'm thinking my stuff got sent directly to a storage building instead of being shipped out. The man said that it will take about a week before they will get it back from the order and that it could take up to 30 days to reach the NVC which is still less than the 90 days the NVC people where telling me.

When I called the csc I went through the menu options that say "if your petition was approved but you have not received notices" I got put through to a live person after about 20 minutes.

  2. Okay so I was finally able to make some phone calls today, First was my congressman, who I had to leave a voice message with, then I called CSC to see if i could get a live person. After waiting over 20 minutes the guy answered. I told him my situation about being over 6 weeks and my case hasn't made it to the NVC. He said he has an idea where my file is, but will have to order it which could take about a week, and then have it mailed to the NVC which he said I should allow 30 days for.

Has anyone else heard of this, them having to "order" a file. I asked him what happened and he wasn't very clear on it. Just saying he was ordering it right now and that I should wait.

So, in the mean time I am waiting for a call back from the congressmans office. I'll keep updating when I can.:unsure:

  3. I understand your situation better now.....it's not so easy for you to have contact with your Congressman's or Senator's office. If you can afford tp take a day off to see them, it might be worth your while....at least make you feel better. BTW, I finally received a reply to one of my NVC email inquiries.......yesterday....now that my petition is already in Moscow.

I can certainly relate to and understand your frustration. Hope that you get some good news soon!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to take a day off. My rotations are 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off with the boat being in seattle and I living in Denver. I won't be home again until August 20th. I do have the addresses/numbers for my congressman, though his page said I need to mail or fax the privacy release form to his office before he will do anything. I'm going to try sending it as a PDF file to his office.

At least they wrote back, did you send your inquiry from a yahoo address by chance? I have read other places on here that sometimes they don't hear back if they use a yahoo address.

    Thanks for the encouragement Don.

  4. I'm sorry to know that your petition still isn't at the NVC, and I'm in agreement that it's just ridiculous. Your frustration, however, should be (and I think really that it is) directed at the USCIS and not at the other filers who have had their petitions get from CSC to NVC much quicker. Also, there are more constructive ways to channel your energy rather than just posting here. I believe that you've already received some good advice here. Have you spoken with your Congressman's or Senator's office yet? I hope that you get some good news soon!

You are exactly right, my frustrations are not directed at anyone here. I have e-mailed NVC at their inquiry address, and am working on the congressman/ senator side. I have difficulties being able to call their offices as the vessel I work on spends most of the day outside of cell range at sea only to return to the dock at night.

  5. Good morning everyone, just got back from 17days with my SO in Germany and thought i would give an update. Well since receiveing the NOA2 in June , I haven't gotta anything else!!! I just called the NVC this morning (which took mutiple times to get through) and the lady on the phone told me I have to wait up to 90 days for them to get it from CSC. I have to go back to work tomorrow so that means 3 weeks without seeing whats coming in the mail because I won't be home. :ranting::ranting:

That is odd because I think the NOA2 actually says it should take no more than 4 weeks. I do not have mine to look at right now, but I am pretty sure I read that yesterday. hmmmmm

Yeah it does say 4 weeks thats why i called them and told them. But they told me that it could take as long as 90 days to reach them. So o just have to wait.

  7. NOA2 BABY!!!!!!!!!!:dance: I got home from work about Midnight last night so i had to wait until today to get my mail from my neighbor, and there it was!!!!! A nice little envelope from the Gub'ment!! The NOA2 was dated July 19th, so the touch I had on the 20th was it. So much for signing up for e-mail alerts and the USCIS website. your better off just waiting.

And the even better news is I leave tomorrow for Germany to spend our 1 year engagment together!! WAAAHOOOO, hang in there Feb filers, your day is coming!!!

YEA BABY!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! We just got touched 2 days in a row, this gives me hope!!!! It took 3 weeks to get it by snail mail???? It could already be through NVC and at the embassy by now. You better call NVC real quick

Congrats to nginear2 on the NOA2!!!!!

That is kind of depressing to see that it took 20 days for the NOA2 hard copy to arrive. It's really depressing to think that those touches over the last couple of days might have indicated approvals, but it could be weeks before anyone finds out? One thing is perfectly clear.....you can't trust what you see on the online case status site. Let's hope that the 20 day gap from NOA2 to arrival in the mailbox was an anomaly.

Yeah I had ment to say June 19th, i was a little excited when I was typing. As for the exact date it came in I do not know because I travel a lot for my job and I had been gone since June 18th.

  9. I called and talked to a very nice lady at USCIS yesterday, and all she could tell me was that we are still within the normal processing time. She said "I know it is frustrating, but just give us some time". I really wanted to go off, but she was very courteous, so I couldn't. It just gets me, that my friend filed last year before the fee increase(which was to pay for more help) and got NOA2 in 100 days. We payed three times the price ($455) and are very realistically looking at 150+ days. Where is this so-called help? I think they all must have went to VSC, because CSC processing times are at least 33% slower than last year at this time. I honestly thought we feb filers were going to "OWN" the month of June, now it's almost gone, and we have the 4th of July looming, which will probably mean people using it as a jump start to an extended vacation. I just dont want to get stuck like the last few approvals from mid-jan and God forbid early Dec. I don't want to make it to the 180 day mark, but I warned my SO that it could very well happen so just be prepared. I told her that they cant keep us apart forever. Aug 12 is our 180 days from NOA1, and I WILL rattle the cage hard if I make it to that date. I would think a background check on me would be easy, I help a secret security clearance when I was in the Marine Corps, lived in the same place since I got out, and only got in trouble with the law once in 42 years. Even then I was found not guilty. Gotta love trouble making ex-in laws. Anyway, there's my somewhat subdued rant.

I hear ya! I have a secret clearence too, plus mutiple background checks because I hold a USCG engineers license. you think it would be a no brainer for them when checking me out. I'm just happy I got a touch last week, that means someone in CSC has looked at it or maybe spilled their coffe on it!!!

  10. Filling out the forms by yourself is not bad. The major things with the forms are

    1. make sure you have the most up to date version of the form.

    2. make sure you signed and filled out forms completely

I thought about getting a lawyer as well when I first started the process back in January and found that most of them want like 600 bucks just to basically verify the forms are filled out correctly. So i would suggest researching here and then do it yourself.

  11. ok.now this is probably a silly question after all this time, but how do I know if my case has been "touched"? I have my WAC case number, and when I go to http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis and enter it in, it always shows the same thing: "Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On February 19, 2008, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register"

I have signed up for email notifications of changes, and have yet to receive one. Is there some place else to check to see the magical word "touched"?

When you log in to the gub'ment page to check you application there should be a last updated date. If that date changes that means you got "touched". if it is still the same as since you first started then no "touch"

  12. Craig tried it last week on the Autobahn on the way back from Denmark (visiting my Dad, the first time they met), and we ended up in 27 km not moving traffic and a closed Autobahn... so we switched seats, because he got bored by moving 2 km in 1 hour

Lol thats funny. When I was in Germany for x-mas and new years Tina and I got stuck in two traffic jams. One on the way to Berlin (someones truck caught fire) for over an hour. I drove on that one and had her dad's Opel pegged when ever I could. When we got back that night he asked if how fast i got it. Then the day I was suppose to fly out we got stuck in a 7 hour traffic jam, I ended up missing my flight and getting an extra day there. But 7 hours in stop and go traffic in a standard was killing my leg!
