  1. Yes, send it back. Do not unstaple. Keep the same order. Place green slip on top. You can also add a note, in addition to the correct form.
  2. 4+ months is nothing for the Boston area, although I very much hope they will call you in soon
  3. Thank you! That's great to hear. I am planning to do a personal check this time around. How long did it take them to process it, after you re-sent it, if I may ask?
  4. For those of you whose filings were returned due to rejected credit card charges (triggered by credit card ''security'' features), did you refile using the exact same application package that was returned to you or did you print out your application materials anew? The green slip we received does mention that if the application is refiled, the green slip should be placed on the top, which makes me wonder if I can literally send back my original package (which now has the markups from the USCIS staff that has already sorted through it) and just add a new payment option. Thoughts?
  5. Congrats! That's a big deal! Hope you will celebrate accordingly! Curious what type of name change did she do? Is she getting a name change document? If yes, you may want to wait until you file for her passport
  6. Yes, my bad for using the wrong terminology--I meant the concurrent filing, of course!
  7. Just wanted it to pay it forward--and give a public shoutout to @igoyougoduke, who has shared his advice with me back in the day: if you are filing a mandamus and have any questions (especially, as related to argument development), feel free to reach out. I am not a lawyer, but am happy to be of help, given my personal experience.
  8. Hi knowledgeable community: For those of you who filed a JOINT I130/I485 in the recent past, did you file both on paper or did you file I130 electronically and I485 on paper? Looks like things have changed since I did that for myself years ago (there was no electronic option available for I130 back then). It feels tempting to go down the electronic route, but given the infamous incompetence of USCIS, I am not sure if this is giving them fodder to fail to link the two to each other. Thoughts?
  9. But if you get the one who had no experience with i751, that would be mine. What time is your interview?
  10. No iPad. He read the questions and I gave him the answers. It wasn't a multiple choice test, as they do on the app.
  11. Congratulations! You are almost done! Actually had a very different experience in February. I waited for almost an hour for an interview. The interviewer was really nice and we just chatted the entire time. We bonded over some tri-state experiences and he picked my brain about a couple of career related issues. I was surprised that he didn't ask me to use an iPad to take the civics test
  12. Let me know if you have any questions! Mine happened very recently.
  13. No, I don't think you need to worry about the i-751 interview. I do think it's wise for your husband to come along, and, just in case I think you can take the initiative and mention to the interviewer that there seems to have been a glitch with the notice.
  14. Yup! That--and a lawsuit from several of us. I am also hopeful that all the pressure that has been put on the senator by people in this group paid off
  15. This is fantastic! And yay for such a quick turnaround for the oath (I realized that none of us were scheduled for a day that has an oath ceremony baked in. Oh well. But maybe that means that some of us will overlap at the oath ceremony?)
  16. Great news! They touched your file--my hunch is that you will hear a lot sooner than 7 months!
  17. WoM is an effective solution (in fact, I have successfully filed one) but is not always the fastest/plus the startup costs are steep--hard to say, of course, what creates a bottleneck in the OP's case. Maybe WOM would work for them, but maybe something else would be more optimal tool
  18. Yes, I have--I think I tried virtually every tool available to me to make it happen. I don't know what are the details of your filing are, but feel free to reach out if I can be of help
  19. Ok, folks, here goes the rant (with a question towards the end): Background: filed N400 in March 2022, Boston field office (very comprehensive submission). 3 year rule (i751 filed in March 2021--again, a pretty impeccable submission, if I dare say so myself). I751 transferred within 4 days since the N400 submission. Currently, I am at 12.5 months mark for N400 and 24.5 for i751. I would have anticipated a combo interview by now--instead, a delightful radio silence. I did FOIA at 8 months mark (the result suggests my files have not been touched). I reached out to the senator and the district representative (at 9months mark and 10 months mark respectively). USCIS response to all these inquiries --nada. Just restating the summary of my cases (which of course I already know...). I reached out via senator's office once again at 12.5 months--same response. I did point out to the senator's office rep that my case is outside of the 12 months mark (current processing time for Boston office). I checked previous USCIS field specific reports, all confirming that the majority of cases should have been processed by now. Any suggestions for my next steps? At this point, I expect this process to take at least 15-16 months and I am hoping to do whatever I can to not make it even longer. Thoughts?
