Had my oath taking this morning and finally an official citizen of the USA!
I arrived 2 minutes before my scheduled time and thought they were about to start, turned out they waited 45 minutes longer for all applicants to fill all the seats before starting the ceremony. I was surprised, one of the applicant that was seated beside me said she applied only 3 months earlier. I thought the time-frame would be the same since we were in the same state. The ceremony should be 45 minutes only but it took about an hour and 15 minutes because everyone wanted to take pictures while receiving their certificate It was a nice day and one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Thanks Visa Journey and for all the helpful members! We'll keep in touch! -
So you still got an update "after" being qued for oath? So you're saying between the interview and oath, I'll be expecting 2 updates right? One for que and one for the sent notice of the oath schedule? Correct?

Got a quick question for those who had their oath taking already and who gotten their oath sched letter...
Did you guys get an update that the oath sched has been sent or just the update that you're in que for oath taking? THANKS!
I got my notice in the mail four days after they updated my status that they sent the notice for oath ceremony.

Got my Notice in the mail for my Oath Ceremony yesterday and it will be on the 5th of Sept.

Just completed my naturalization ceremony! Got there about half an hour before the scheduled time, there is paid parking close by, so didnt have much hassle. First step once we are all in the actual courtroom, they briefed us on what the ceremony would be like, then they took our appointment notice and greencard and was given a welcome packet which also had the number marked on it in the order we would be seated. After that we were given about an half hour break to use the bathroom,grab something from the cafeteria etc. After we all got back, we were properly seated based on the number we were given earlier, was addressed by the district attorney and shortly afterwards the ceremony was on the way. The ceremony itself was about an hour, but overall, we were there about three hours. we were all individually called by name and introduced to the judge, then we were given the oath of allegiance by the USCIS rep, followed by us going up to individually collect the certificate,greet the judge etc, next we pledged allegiance to the flag, judge congratulated us once again and left and court was adjourned. It was a long road getting to this day, but Thank God it finally came! Goodluck to everyone still waiting, Your day will come as well.

My interview is a week from today eeehhh.... so so nervous and stressed out!
let me know if this is good enough..
I plan on brining a binder with some of the papers requested on the list to bring that came with my appointment letter, Copies of 3 years taxes
passport and green card. marriage certificate.
Also I've been studying the little citizenship booklet i got at the fingerprint appointment like crazy thats good enough right?
I feel like once the IO starts the test Im going to go blank and forget everything.
Take it easy
I was nervous too while waiting for my name to called. Once you're in the room the IO will go directly on your paperwork then probably just ask for you passport and green card. If you give them everything they need they won't ask for the originals. But then better to bring and be prepared. For the civic test, I learned better by listening to the CD. Goodluck! -

A formal outfit that fit to an interview is good. But they wanted to be more formal at the Oath Taking. No shorts, jeans or flip flopsCongrats to everyone who is through with the whole process.
I have my interview on Monday. I just had a quick question. Did you guys dress up for the interview like a suit?

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my interview today that went really well. Got there 20 minutes earlier but they called me 20 minutes late for the time scheduled for my interview. Parking was terrible and my husband have to find quarters because we didn't expect the parking was on the side of the road. Applicants are waiting for people to pull out the road before they can park. So I have to bring my little girl during my interview while my husband was away. Good thing she was sleeping
The Immigration Officer was kinda serious and asked my passports (old and new), driver's license and greencard. On top of her table were all my bulk files and the N400 form which she went through all the details and questions one by one while checking it on her red pen. Good thing I reviewed my copy of the N400 form the night before my interview When she was all done she handed me the two forms to sign for it. For the civic test, she asked me only 6 questions since I answered all of them correctly. Next, she asked me to write and then read "Washington is on the dollar bill" Then she put back my all files in the bulk folder and gave me the Letter for the result of my interview and said "Congratulations you passed! You will need to go back here again though at the 1st Floor for the Oath Ceremony". She said they will mail me a notice for the schedule of the Oath Taking. Funny that as soon as I was done my little girl was up and the officer walked me out the door. The interview lasted for 20 minutes. I was so happy and told the officer that it was worth the waiting and the trip and she said "you're very welcome! -
Congratulations!! And thank you for being helpful in this forum.Completed my oath today, officially a USC! Ceremony was quick and easy, and very memorable and solemn. Feeling very happy and accomplished- goodluck everyone on your interviews and oaths! Will stay in touch, hoping to see an all red list soon for all April filers

Got my Interview letter today for Aug. 06,2014
Just have one question though, does it all says on your letter: "Request for Applicant to Appear for Naturalization Initial interview?". Just confused with the word "Initial". There should only be one interview right? Sorry for my ignorance -
Congrats! Just got an update today that I'm scheduled for interview tooPassed my interview today.. Will post a summary later. They didn't give me an oath date, they just said they will send me a letter in the mail. Hopefully soon! Goodluck to all other April filers!
