    Being a citizen isn't relevant to your interview location, only residency is. But as long as you provided evidence of that London should have accepted your case and I can't see any reason why you haven't had an IL yet. Do you have citizenship of any other countries?

    You can search timelines, although that does rely on people having filled theirs in (please do yours!!). I can only find 4 other EB2 applicants in Australia and 3 of those are old cases. It'll certainly be a lot quicker than Islamabad though, so you might want to transfer back again if you wish to delay!

    OK, fab. Which consulate did you transfer from? If you are resident in the UK (and provided evidence of that), your PD is definitely current, etc, then I'd definitely chase it up again with an NVC enquiry.

    Good luck with it all, it will be fine I'm sure. The medical and interview were super easy and far less stressful than I expected! Hopefully it will be the same for you.

    Yes, Direct Consular Filing. As he has a job offer he should be eligible for it, and it'll mean the process is much quicker than the standard 18 months to 2 years. Has he filed his taxes as mentioned in your previous thread?

    Again, why do you think he has to move ahead of you? That's not correct. You can't 'convert from a visitor visa', that's visa fraud and illegal. However you do it (via normal consular processing, or DCF) then you can apply from the UK, and you both move together once you have your visa in hand.

    We used Fragomen for my O visa, although I was O1A. They also did my EB1A app. But your sponsor should be proving the lawyer, so check with them first as they may have a specific one they like to use. Good luck.

    Yes, I did, and I'm on an expat assignment so get housing, car, school fees etc paid for. Even so it's crazy expensive, so just bring plenty of cash to set yourselves up and live ok. Good luck.

    Might be worth having another read of your previous thread, as domicile was mentioned in that - Has he caught up on his missing tax returns?

    If you're both in the UK then why do you think you have to be apart? He can petition you from the UK and you then move together. He has to show his intent to move as part of the process, but confirmation of a job waiting for him in the US and email exchanges with realtors or similar would do that. If he has a job offer, you may also want to look in to DCF which would be quicker, if you're in any hurry to move. Good luck.

    Yes, they don't all come at the same time. So you may still get one. What does your online status say?

    Yes, until you get an interview. I think they’re sent out every 60 days. Islamabad has a long wait for interviews, so if that’s your consulate you’ll probably get that email quite a few times. Good luck.

    They are expensive but a drop in the ocean when it comes to the cost of immigrating - as somebody that moved a year ago (almost to the day, it was our ‘Americaversary’ yesterday), my top tip would be to bring much more money than you think you’ll need. Cost of living here is insane, most things are 3 times as expensive as the UK, then add in healthcare premiums if you have to pay them yourself ($2k ish a month for a family) and it’s a pricey place to be. Admittedly I’m in Boston so a very expensive area (recent study says salary of $320k a year needed for a family of four to ‘live comfortably’ here, which I’d say is actually a bit low! https://smartasset.com/data-studies/salary-needed-live-comfortably-2024), but still bring plenty of savings wherever you’re going, even if you have a job to go to. Ok, was just checking you didn’t come under another country for your PD. Hopefully it will turn up today then. Good luck all.

    Yep, this is the best idea - or just return in the April as the OP mentioned, if that's an option. I think they're pretty strict on the 3 month requirement so wouldn't risk it personally.

    Then way too early to expect an interview if you were only DQ'ed in March. Unfortunately Lagos is very backlogged as above, it seems that backlog is coming down, but priority will be given to other cases (spouses etc). Here is another VJ member who is also F3 and waiting for an interview in Lagos, he was DQ'ed nearly 4 years ago and in April was still waiting for his interview date - https://www.visajourney.com/profile/446906-walewale/ Might be worth asking if he's had his IL yet.     That's sped up a lot then, it wasn't long ago that it was a couple of years wait. Seems they're getting through the backlog which is good.
