  1.  One of my friends came to Canada as a student and applied for the US visitor visa for which he was granted during the interview from a US consulate in Canada. He went back to his home country (India) for some days to visit and went directly to the US to seek asylum. My question is that is he eligible for seeking asylum in the US regardless of the treaty signed between two countries (US and Canada).

Seems like he only went back to India to then fly to the US and try and claim asylum, which is rather odd, as if he is so unsafe in India that he needs asylum, why did he even return there and not just claim asylum in Canada? Not sure how he thinks he'll convince anybody he's a genuine asylum seeker with that travel history.

  2. How much is the current fee for paper mailing the US naturalization Citizenship fee? Does it include the Biometric fee? Or is it combine now?

  3. Hello, I am in the same condition with you

The person you've asked visited the forums for a long time so is unlikely to see this. I'd suggest you start your own thread with any questions. Good luck.

The person you've asked hasn't been on the forum for a year - I would suggest you start your own thread with any queries as they're unlikely to see this. Good luck.

  5. My minor child (9 years old) has an unexpired Green Card and valid foreign passport. He has no re-entry permit and has been out of the country for more than 2 years.

Can he enter the country with these documents? Or does he need a returning resident visa?

Can't imagine any airline would let him board a plane with an expired green card, but ask in the main forums (this is on your profile so not many will see it). Good luck.

  6.  Please when is it  likely i get an interview date for FB1 category, I have received 60days  notice/letter for three times now making it about 180days . My DQ date was August 2020. Responses will be appreciated

Ok, so your PD became current in August, that’s the point you’ll have been added to the queue for an interview. I think Lagos is at least a years wait for an interview, possibly 2 years, but check on the forum.  Good luck.

Your Priority Date isn't current yet, you won't be added to the queue for an interview until it is. Which date in June?

I'd suggest you ask your question again on the forums as not many people are likely to see it just on your profile. Good luck.

  11. Hey guys i have one question, if my mom is a primary applicant, i can’t change her address from USCIS. When i change it it is rejecting it. I changed for other family members and it worked but my mom as primary applicant didn’t. Is this a rule or it can be fixed?

You've posted this on your profile, not in the forums. So would suggest you ask again on the forums, giving full details (what stage you're at, is it a US address or foreign one, what kind of application, etc) and no doubt somebody will help.

  13. I came to the US in 2017 on a J1 visa, but in 2020, I was granted a T visa due to being a victim of labor trafficking. In 2022, I faced challenges as I gave birth to my baby, who had health complications, and I personally battled sepsis. I've submitted medical and psychological evaluations, along with supporting documents highlighting my trafficking victim status and collaboration with law enforcement on the case. Do you think this makes a strong case for my hardship waiver?

    Thanks for your insights.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. The person you've messaged hadn't been on the forum for years, so isn't likely to see your question. I'd suggest you ask in the forums where those with experience of waivers can help you. Good luck.

  14. Hello,

Can someone please help me to go to the right direction?

I am filing the following forms: I-130, I-130a, I-131, I-485, I-765, and I-864. I live in Corpus Christi, Texas, and I was looking for a direct filing address to be able to send these forms to. But, when I was looking I came across this address that is only for Texas: \

    U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

    USCIS
    Attn: AOS
    P.O. Box 650288
    Dallas, TX 75265-0288

    FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

    USCIS
    Attn: AOS (Box 650288)
    2501 S. State Hwy. 121 Business
    Suite 400
    Lewisville, TX 75067-8003

I also, have a friend that lives here in the same city, but when she sent her documents, she sent them to the Chicago address. I know that the website tells me to send to the Dallas address, but I just don't want to send there and wait longer than I need to, if that makes any sense.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hope to hear something soon!

I would suggest you take your phone number off this post - VJ is a public forum! Most people won't give out their personal phone numbers to strangers on the internet, best to PM people via the site instead.

  16. Does anyone go through "after entering America with K1, but marriage don't happen for some reason. but still keeping the relationship with the partner"?

After I got to the US, almost one month passed, me and my fiance got in to huge argument. We made up with each other. but he is saying he is not sure if he's ready for the marriage now. He's not thinking about breakup and 100% sure that he wants to keep this relationship.

We still have 50days to decide, but he doesn't know if he can make up his mind.

    My question is ..

    1. if I leave America, K1 visa is gone. in that case, next time I come to the US with ESTA, is it possible?

    2. when we decide to get married for example like 6 month later, Do I have to wait 2years to apply visa no matter what?

If there are anyone who gone through similar situation, please give me some advise or share the detail. thank you.

You should post this in the forums for advice rather than just on your profile. But if you have't met in person in the past 2 years you're not eligible for the visa and will need to apply again when you are. If you can't travel then your fiancé must travel to you. HTH.

  20. I am a European Citizen and i entered the US with Esta visa approval, At the point of entry the home security didn’t give me I 90 form to fill up at the point of entry. Will it affect me in anyway? Or do i need to apply online now that am in US

    1. appleblossom

      appleblossom

I'm confused. I-90 is a form to replace your green card but you say you've entered under the VWP? So that form wouldn't apply to you, did you mean something else maybe? You would be better off asking any questions in the forums rather than on your profile BTW.

  21. Hello

My name is Sheena from the USA. My fiance is from Nigeria🇳🇬 but currently living in Dubai. We receive our welcome email from Lagos back in August 17,2023 we have been trying to schedule an interview. May I ask how where you able to schedule an interview. We paid our Visa fee and completed our DS-160 . PLEASE help on how you were able to schedule your interview. Thanks for your help. God bless you. Sheena and Christian 🙏

You might want to post this in the K1 forum or the Nigeria forum rather than on your profile to get proper responses. But I believe there's a long wait for an interview at Lagos (and it sounds like that's the consulate you're going through rather than Dubai??), this recent thread may help - https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/812109-k1-visa-lagos-interviews-2023/

      Good luck.
