La verdad es que creo que ud. está haciendo el proceso más complicado y más difícil en su cabeza de lo que realmente es. El proceso es muy fácil y si se tiene bastante y buena evidencia para comprobar de que no se quieren casar o no se casaron por negocio, todo le saldrá bien. Como dijo alguien hace unos días, si quieren se pueden volver a ver en Panamá o en otro país por un fín de semana para tener un reencuentro más reciente. Pero sino, no se preocupe que lo más probable es que le den la visa sin ningún problema. Si de pronto el/la cónsul le dice que su novio tiene que ir, ahí es cuando debe de explicar lo que pasa.

Yo te aconsejo que te des la pela y te quedes unos dias mas en Bogota despues del 11 ya que si la recibes en Bogota se demora como 3 dias habiles, en cambio si te vienes pa Cali se te demora de 8 a 10 dias habiles...yo pienso hacer lo mismo para cuando vaya a la embajada y traerme el pasaporte con la visa en una caja fuerte acostado en las sillas de un coomotor o un bolivariano.

Si mi pana..mejor esperate unos dias mas en tabogo para que de una ves vengas a Cali con la visa y asi ya arreglen las maletas con karol.

Para aquellas personas que todavia no han ido a Bogota al examen fisico, les recomiendo mucho que escogan la doctora Gonzalez. Hoy mi novia tuvo su cita alla y me dijo que la doctora fue super culta y formal y nisiquiera le hizo quitar su ropa interior. Cosa que el viejo verde de Roa como que ignora y le gusta hacerle quitar TODA la ropa a las mujeres.

Para mi que es un abuso de poder y falta de profesionalismo de ese tipo. Aprovecha que es uno de los dos unicos doctores que la embajada acepta y hace empelotar a todas las mujeres que pasan por su consultorio. De verdad que me da rabia ese tipo de vainas. A parte de eso, tambien abusa con lo de las fechas de las vacunas y aprovecha para aplicar vacunas asi la paciente las tenga hace menos de un mes y al tiempo se embolsilla un monton de dinero por aplicar estas vacunas.

Bueno, solo queria compartir eso con aquellas personas que todavia no han pedido sus citas medicas.

Hola todos,

Primero quiro darles las gracias a todos por las energias positivas que me enviaron (Osita, Faith, Paulis, Florez, Andres y Jenifer, etc).

Ayer nos aprobaron la Visa. La espera fue larga pero la entrvesita duro muy poco tiempo. Nos hicieron preguntas a los dos, y despues el consul le informo a Johanna que todos los documentos estaban en orden y que la visa habia sido aprobada!!!!!!!!

Tan siquiera pidieron ver las evidencias. Bueno, como estamos en un hotel, tenemos que recoger la visa en la cede de Domesa en Bogota. Si todo transcurre sin problemas estaremos regresando jumtos a EU este proximo lunes o martes (no he comprado pasajes hasta que tengamos los pasaportes y visa en mano (segun Domesa dentro de los proximos 4 dias).

Felicitaciones a Paulis por su visa. En verdad me dio pena ver como a algunas personas le regresaban sus pasaportes y se iban tristes. Les deseo toda la suerte a aquellos que aun faltan para que llegue ese dia. La mayoria de las preguntas que hacen es para verificar que existe una relacion real y cuando el novio/novia acompanan pues parece acelar el tiempo de la entrevista aunque no creo que sea lo mas importante en la decision de la aprobacion.

Paola is leaving this Monday the 17th to return to Colombia for a month. We had the DNA test done, called for another interview date for her son. It is Monday March 31!!! Paola is going down to attend the intewrview with her son and bring him back to the US.

I am a bit worried that she will have problems re-entering the US, given all the hassels that can come up. She has her travel doc's and everything else needed to re-enter the US. There should not be a problem. I am going to miss her badly while she is gone. She will return on April 22.

I am glad that Paola will be finalizing the issue with her son. This must have been emotionally distressing for her. Carina and I have started to worry about her 19 year old son also because of your experience. We have our interview on the 31st as well, so I hope that we will run into Paola.

bueno les cuento que ya llegue de hacer la vuelta del pasdo judicial, fue super rapido la cita era a las 6:30 y a las 7:20 ya estaba en mi trabajito asi que super. me preguntaron si era para trabajar o para visado, les dije que para visado y aparentemente al entregarlo pareciera que es igual pero como fui con una compañerita de trabajo que tambien lo iba a sacar (ella para trabajo) al compararlos me di cuenta que cuando se saca pasado judicial para trabajo le hacen una señal en la esquina superior izquierda y en la parte de la firma y sello la firma del mio es diferente a la de mi compañerita, bueno no se si les sirva la informacion pero ahi se las cuento, les mando un abracito

tengo una preguntita, para la impresion de las fotos que se presentan como prueba de la relacion debe tener alguna medida especial? es que mañana voy a imprimir mis fotos con mi gordito en foto japon y las imprimen en diferentes tamaños 9 X 13 y 10 X 15, y no se cual sea la mas adecuada o si en la embajada pidan alguna medida especial. porfa quien sepa que me ayude.

otra cosita, hoy fui hacer la consignacion para el pasado judicial, aqui en cali se hace en el Banco GNB Sudameris, en una consignacion de recaudo empresarial del Fondo Rotatorio del DAS, por el valor de $28.900 pesos si alguno(a) de ustedes tiene el ultimo certificado electoral les dan un 10% de descuento, bueno mañana tengo mi cita para el pasado judicial a las 6:30AM asi que despues les contare como me fue con eso.

No creo que la embajada pida un tamaño especifico. Mi amor tiene todas las fotos 4x6 (medida en pulgadas) y las ultimas que voy a mandar tambien tienen la misma medida. Mira, cuando yo inicie este proceso, yo mande todas las fotos imprimidas en papel regular de carta y USCIS ni si quiera nos dio un RFE. Yo lo hice asi para poder escribir debajo de las fotos una descripcion del lugar y la situacion de cada foto. Asi que no te preocupes por el tamaño de las fotos.

Hi everyone,

In the packet 3 that was sent to Margarita (in spanish), it says that her birth certificate, baptismal certificate, and police report need to be recent. It also say that one should have all documents ready before sending packet 3 back to the embassy. We followed those instructions, and have our interview for April 11. How recent do these documents need to be? On the date of the interview, her documents will be in the range of 60 to 80 days old. People at the DAS office have Mrgarita worried that her documents will not be recent enough for the embassy. I don't know what to think. Any insight is appreciated

I do not think the age of Margarita's documents will be a problem. Bella's documents were all older than Margarita's. I would not be concerned about what DAS says about the age of the documents required for the interview.

On the other hand, DAS does dictate how recent the father's permission letter for the children to leave Colombia needs to be and if your letter does not meet that requirement you will have problems at the airport.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and thanks to everyone here, especially the Colombia club thread. I have saved a lot of time and learned quite a few tips.

I was wondering if someone here who has gone thru the K-3 route in Colombia could give me some advice.

I have been planning to send out my I-129F, after receiving the NOA1 on my I-130 petition, which I just received. But there still are a couple of things that I'm not sure about.

I am considering not filing the I-129F and just letting the I-130(CR-1) go thru on it's own (since it would save a few steps). In Colombia is this a good strategy? Or should I stick to the original plan and go ahead and file the I-129F ? My main goal is to be with my wife as soon as possible. I'm not worried about her getting her SS# right away, it would be nice, but definitely not worth an additional delay.

I made 1 mistake, I sent in scanned copies of my wife's G-325A's not the originals. I had an original set of her G-325A's when I left Colombia, but unfortunately after I arrived here, I realized that I had left out some info and her form wasn't filled out right, my mistake. The originals are on their way and should be here by the end of the week. I already received my NOA1, so am I in the clear now or should I still be expecting a RFE ?

I received my NOA1 but no transfer notice. Is this all I will need to file the I-129F or should I wait for the transfer notice, before I proceed?

I sent my I-130 petition out on 2/22/08 and my NOA1 date was 3/3/08, that's just over a week! I hope the other service centers don't hear about this, as I'm sure a reprimand will be handed out to the person who is working on my case, for being too efficient... (they must be new).

Para las personas que están esperando que la embajada reciba su caso, este es el número de guía DHL (9261242340) bajo el cual el 05/03/2008 fue enviado un sobre a Bogotá por el NVC.

El envío fue entregado el 04/03/05 pero solo ingresó al sistema hoy.

En el paquete 3, dice que el registro civil, fe de bautizo, y certificado judicial deben de estar reciente. Me podrian decir que es reciente? Es que tambien dice el paquete que uno tiene que tener todo listo antes que mandar las cosas a la embajada a pedir la entrevista. Entonces, mi Margara ya tiene su registro civil, fe de bautizo, y certificado judicial. Ella las saco en Febrero y nuestra cita en la embajada es el dia 11 de Abril. No se si Margara tiene que sacar otras mas reciente. Que opinan?

I don't want her to travel with such a large ammount of money on her. This trip will require much more money than previous trips, what with the doctor and visas and vaccinations. I would prefer to bring it myself. On previous trips, I noticed a currency exchange at the airport in Miami. Is anyone familiar with these airport currency exchanges? I have a feeling they might charge large fees. Worst case I will just send her the money and we can pick it up together in Bogota.

I suggest using an ATM machine in Bogota. The exchange rate is best here. The airport will not give you the current exchange rate, they make money on every transaction. The atm's are very convienent. Just be aware, your bank will most likely charge an "international transaction fee". Check with your bank ahead of time. Also it is best to inform them where you are traveling to and timeframe. Some credit / debit cards get shut off when used in other countries, as a security measure!!!!

Otra cosita, en el cuestionario DS-230 y en la pregunta 14 donde piden "Nombre del Cónyuge (Apellidos de soltera)" no sabemos que poner pues la pregunta es muy ambigua. Mi amor estuvo casada una vez y ahora esta divorciada. No creo que esten preguntando los datos del señor que estuvo casado con ella, pues mas estupidamente luego en la pregunta 21a, quieren saber si la personal mencionada en la pregunta 14 la va a acompañar a los EE.UU. De seguro les digo que NO nos va a acompañar. Jejeje! Tambien hacen similar pregunta en la 21b. ¿Alguien por aqui podria ayudar a aclarar estas preguntas? No creo que la embajada este disponible a hacer aclaraciones a preguntas tan ambiguas y fuera de sentido común come estas.

Voy a comprar los boletos para Margara y Dani de Avianca. Ellas tienen que viajar de Medellin a Bogota. Quiero comprar los por internet. Si los compro por internet, no tengo que perder lo que me cobran por el envio cuando mando plata a Margara. Margara no ha viajado mucho, y no sabe como lo hacen en Colombia. No he visto DS-230 en español, pero apenas lo tengo en ingles. Por lo que yo entiendo, ellos estan pediendo el nombre de su esposo de Patty. Entonces yo creo la respuesta es NA porque ella no tiene esposo. Tambien 21a y 21b deben de estar lomismo. Una persona casada no puede pedir visa K1.

Wow, estaba leyendo el foro en ingles y encontre un caso parecido a lo que queriamos hacer mi amor y yo. Primero que todo, dejeme decirles que la NOA2 esta aprovada por solo un periodo de tiempo y despues de este tiempo no sera VALIDA. En mi NOA2, este periodo es desde 2-22-2008 (Feb.22) hasta 6-21-2008 (Jun.21).

Yo tenia pensado demorar la entrega del paquete #3 para que asi la entrevista y la visa salga mas tarde pues ni mi amor ni YO estaremos listo para el viaje hasta Septiembre. Pero con la NOA2 caducando en Junio 21, no creo que esto sea muy bueno que digamos.

Ya le escribí a mi amor para aclarar esto, pero espero que alguien aqui me pueda aclarar hasta cuanto seria prudente demorar el paquete #3 y toda la documentacion para la visa. Yo se que todos queremos reunirnos lo mas pronto posible, pero en nuestro caso hay muchas cosas que dejar arregladas en Colombia y en los EE.UU. Ademas, YO no puedo salir de mi trabajo sin darle tiempo a mi jefe para decidir estas vacaciones que me voy a tomar para hacer todo esto.

Me gustaria saber las opiniones de Uds. y gracias.

El caso mio es como el tuyo. No quieremos que Margara y Dani llegan a US hasta Octubre o Noviembre. La fecha en NOA2 es cuando venca la oportunidad de tener la entrevista en la embajada. La Visa es valida por 180 dias . Entonces, si quieren hacer el viaje en Septiembre, la entrevista debe de estar despues que Marzo. Si tu novia manda paquete 3 de una vez, la entrevista no seria antes que Mayo, y la visa sera valido hasta que Noviembre.

Tuesday April 8 John flies to Bogota from US, and Margarita and Daniela fly to Bogota from Medellin. Meet at the airport and go to the apartment. Wednesday Margarita goes to the lab at 7 am. After the lab, go to DAS to pickup Migratorio report (she ordered it at the DAS office in Medellin and it is ready for pickup in Bogota). Lunch, and if time allows pay for the Visas at the bank. Both Margara and Dani go to doctor Gonzalez in the afternoon. Assuming no problems, Thursday is a day of fun. In the event of some unforeseen problem, Thursday is available to remedy the problem. Friday morning the interview. Friday evening celebrate (hopefully). Also, does anyone have any ideas for a fun day Thursday or Saturday? Something fun for the whole family. Daniela is 8 years old and loves rides. Margara and I are both unfamiliar with Bogota, but I'd love for the 3 of us to go to a theme park if there is one there.

You can also try the Tren Turístico on Saturday that leaves early from Bogotá to go to a small town to spend the day and then it comes back in the afternoon. It's really fun and you have a choice of different routes to go on. Here's their info:

Hi everyone,

I have a kind of silly question. If I am going to the interview with my Margara,do I need to write a new letter of intent? I assume that my presence at the interview should demonstrate my intent, but I never know when it comes to this process. I have one more question. Do we need to bring a notarized letter signed by Daniela's father to the interview? I know we will need it when they leave Colombia, but I am not sure if the embassy requires it before they will grant Daniela a K3 visa. Margara and Daniela aren't coming to the US until October or November, so we will need to get a letter from Daniela's father in September either way.

A ver, lo de llenar los formularios por computador no es obligatorio, lo que ellos no quieren es tener que adivinar informacion. Si ud tiene letra bien bonita entonces hagalo a mano, con letras mayusculas y tinta negra. De todas formas, es preferible hacer el esfuerzo por llenar los formularios por computador.

Lo del DS230 parte 2, yo le voy a decir a mi novia que lo lleve por si las moscas. Nada se pierde.

Margarita Maria, yo le llene todos los formularios a mi novia desde aca y se los mande a Cali, asi estoy seguro que todo esta completo y que no hay respuestas en blanco.

No se estresen, que la verdad el proceso es sencillo, sino que con tantas ancias de no embarrarla lo hacemos un poco complicado.

De todos modos yo aconsejaria que lo hiciera por computadora todos con LETRAS GRANDES Y ASI. Si no lo puedes hacer por computadoras de todos modos todo lo que escriba a mano lo HARIA ASI CON ESTE TIPO DE LETRAS (TODAS MAYUSCULAS) Y PARECIDAS a ESTAS.

hola a todos ahora si me asuste me dijo una amiga que los papels que se diligencian para la embajada deben llenarce a maquina o computador que ellos son muy estrictos con eso pero yo los llene todos a mano con puño y letra mia los del paquete numero 3 y los envie la semana pasada alguien sabe si la embarre si es necesario que los vuelva a diligenciar a maquina o alguien los hizo a mano y todo salio por fa ayudaaaaaa.

hola! not e precupes el mismo formato dice que se conteste en maquina de escribir o letra legible, yo envie los mios asi y ya me llego mi paquete numero 4, eso si hay que tratar de que la letra sea clara al leer para no generar confusion en las respuestas que diste, pero no te preocupes por eso.

si quieres estar mas tranquila dile a tu novio que llame NVC en usa, a el le dan el dia de tu cita, yo envie mi paquete numero 3 el lunes febrero 18 y mi novio llamo el miercoles 27 de febrero y alla le dijeron mi fecha de entrevista y el sabado 1 de marzo me llego mi paquete numero 4 con la fecha de entrevista que ya sabia porque a mi novio ya se la habian dicho, asi que como se como te sientes en este momento........con mucha ansiedad....... dile a tu novio que llame asi sales de la duda y te preparas para la cita. cualquier duda y en lo que te pueda ayudar con mucho gusto.

Hoy llame DOS y me dijeron que Margarita tiene su cita el dia 11 de Abril. Estoy SUPER feliz. Ya llame a pedir el apartamento en Bogota. Voy a Bogota el dia 8 y Margarita y Daniela van de Medellin a Bogota el mismo dia. Me van a esperar en aereopuerto y de alli nos vamos a el apto. En este momento Margara esta pediendo su cita con Dra Gonzalez por el dia 9. Margara va a ir el Labrotorio en la manana el dia 9 y ojala al doctora con Daniela en la tarde. El dia 9, vamos a reclamar su reporte migratorio de DAS y consignar la plata en el banco. Si todo este bien, el dia 10 vamos a divirtirnos. Por favor dime si todo suena bien, y si saben de un lugar chevere a irnos el dia 10 que ojala sera dia libre.
