  1. No, no criminal history. I agree about TikTok but she likes it and it gets into her head causing her to overthink. I'll tell her this. Thank you! Only the one story from this very forum about the guy saying "I don't know, maybe" when being asked if he will get married within 90 days. Other than that I think it's quite rare.
  2. Hey all, my fiancée was recently approved for a k1 visa and her flight is scheduled to arrive in the US from Peru on July 1st through Miami. She is freaking out thinking that CBP will detain her, or worse send her back because she has seen tik toks of CBP doing that to other US visa holders. Is anyone able to calm her mind a little (and mine too, to be honest) by saying what questions will be asked? We have a wedding date and location picked which I would assume would be the extent of their questioning, but can somebody confirm this? Thank you all in advance.
  3. Hello! I know I need a letter from my employer (I work for the government) stating various things. I asked HR and they stated that an sf50 should be sufficient. Is this true? It shows the nature of employment and my annual salary. Do I need an actual letter or is this fine? Furthermore, our i129F was approved in September. Will the validity be extended for a year? My fiancee is currently working on getting the 3 civil documents required for the Peruvian embassy. What else is needed? Birth certificate, passport, civil documents, approved i129F... anything else? A checklist of things required for the actual interview would be helpful. Thank you so much.
  4. I also had a name change and simply included the court order with the raised stamp along with the i129F and it was approved with no RFEs. Good luck!
  5. Thanks for the heads up. I suppose a longer wait at the NVC stage is fair considering we got our i129F approved in 3 months. Cheers.
  6. Thank you for such a detailed response. I asked my fiancée if she received anything yet and she said she hasn't so more waiting I guess.
  7. Hello my fiancée and I will be going through the embassy in Lima, Peru. We received our approval notice from USCIS on September 17, 2024 and have been waiting for the notice from NVC since then. How long should the process take to get notification and then for them to send the petition to the embassy? Also, what documents should we be gathering in advance so that we are prepared? I am in the process of getting an SF50 from my job and documents from the bank. Should I get anything else? And what about my fiancée? Thank you in advance.
  8. Yup, i-129F is more about the USC petitioner than it is about the foreign beneficiary
