  1. i know all people think differently but,, he has done something horribly wrong, with the full intention of eventually bringing his ohter family to the states, at the expence of someone that has invested as much as you have.

He has done something dark and dirty and cruel. I would be "creative" and bring the same back to him 10X!!

he has hurt and betrayed you, and you have a total right to go back at him. There are so many things you can do. I would be willing to bet that he might be eligible for one of those horrible immigration prisons that are so secretive. I would normally never wish this on anyone BUT... is some cases...........

  2. I have been a member on VJ for sometime. I am under a different name because I don't want my husband to find out. I met a man online (Nigerian) and petitioned for him to come to the United States. Once he got here things were great he was very attentive, eager to learn and to get a job (he’s working now) and God-fearing man. Now that he’s been here for awhile and getting acclimated, he’s become distant, argumentative, secretive and rude. So, I decided to do some investigation. Of course, I wanted to know what was going on, I love this man. I wanted to know if it was something I was doing or something he was hiding. Yes, it’s a trust issue. After considering my options, I found and purchased software to monitor his activity online; we all know that email can tell the story. I purchased Family Cyber Alert, which captures keystrokes, password, etcs. To my amazement, the man is already married. He’s promising his “wife”, that he is trying to get her and his children here soon as possible. I was floored, what the heck is this. You look for trouble you find it. The pain is unbearable. I can’t say anything to him because he would convince me that I am being paranoid and continue to lie. My first thought was to kick him out. I took my vows serious and he has deceived me. And I don’t want to say much because I want to see how he’s going to work this out. Does anyone have any suggestions? What would you do in a situation like this? How can he bring his family here and he’s not a citizen of the US? Please help. I am devastated.

This is terrible. I am so sorry. Seems like a nightmare. You need to cut your losses now, no matter how difficult and kick him out. No one needs to deal with this SH!T. Also he has defrauded uscis and is likely to be permanently banned from entering the U.S. if you wanted to bring this to the attention of the authorities.

  3. I told my fiance yesterday about the pirated dvds situation and she got really sad :( so I came up with the idea of mailing it to the U.S. Today I went to my local post office and D.H.L to check out the prices and they straight up told me they are not allowed to sent dvds or cd's to the U.S unless if its a Wedding movie and I was like frigggg man. This really blows

put everything on a hard drive...

This is absolutely stupid.. deported for pirated CDs. what a joke. So sad..

  4. I have noticed this topic come up frequently.

Why is it so problematic for some of these companies to sign a simple letter saying someone is currently working there and has been for such and such time?

What are some reasons people have said they cant provide this? I would assume it would be your right as an employee to get this.

  5. Still cant comphehend why anyone cares.

Maybe its just me but seems like there is sooooo many better things to worry about. Guess some people dont have anything better to do!!!

I voted YES!!! Hope i get to go to a gay wedding at some point!!

  6. Thanks for your quick response!

She has not been a permanent resident of the USA for 6 years or so, but was born and bred and studied her undergraduate there.

    DCF=I130 right?

    Thanks a bunch

    Mat

We are talking about if she meets the residency requirement in germany. Has she been living in germany legally for 6 months? if so you file the i130 directly with the consulate there. you will have interview shortly after and if all is in order issued your immigrant visa.

in many cases the whole process can take as little as 6 weeks.

  7. i wouldnt worry about employment letter if it is unavailable.

Just get everything together that you can. You still have more than 10 days. cant see why you wouldnt be able to get everything in order by then. I just scanned everything for my wife and pasted it all into a word doc. just have him DHL any necessary originals.

Very worst case is that they need something else, give a 221g for pending docs and mail the passport as soon as they are received.

Nothing really to worry about here. At least try not to!!

  8. I have been doing some preparation too for my citizenship, I figured start the list now and keep adding when I take a trip, I got all my previous dates from my airline statements which are avaliable online with my account.

I AGREE. Log into all the mileage or general accounts you have with all the airlines you have used. If for some reason you havent logged those miles, look in old emails for trip confirmation receipts. If that ends up impossible. Call the airlines you have used. Also can look at emails you sent and received during those times. Many times that will give you a good idea where and where you were somewhere.

  9. For the people that are experiencing unreasonable wait times... Imagine if all this time spent talking and talking were spent volunteering for political parties, people involved with uscis or DOS, or whoever has connections, getting close and smoozing with people that eventually could make a simple call and get the case taken care of.

  10. If you are from London i dont think you will have any trouble adapting. Really wouldnt invest much time in thinking about it. just go there and dive in. more fun that way as well. Just dont let him do everything for you. that is an easy trap to fall into. Take charge and make phone calls for yourself when it comes to adminstrative stuff. Books on stuff like this are totally overrated. Ask here or at britishexpats.com if you have questions you want answered without having to ask him.

Healthcare will be a big change and sucks.

drivers license is easy and use your UK one for the first year if you dont want to hassle with a new one.
