  1. I had my interview this morning and I am approved!! The interview lady asked me when I'm in Montreal until- I said tomorrow and she said we can come pick up my visa tomorrow afternoon! So my husband and I are off to see the sights until then. I'll write a review once I am back. So happy!!

    So happy for you!!

Glad they are letting you come back to pick it up...thats the thing we are MOST worried about... our interview is on a Friday, so I dont think there will be that option :(

  2. I met my Fiance through Cisco Systems! She works in the Logistics Department in Nova Scotia and I work with the Contracts team in Salt Lake City, Utah!

Greatest thing to ever happen to me!!

Hey we are moving just north of Salt Lake in May! We are so ready to go... we already went and bought our house and now just waiting for our interview next month so we can leave!!

  3. When I called on the 3rd I didnt have an interview...then I called on the 4th and I had one...

I called the other day just to double check and the operator confirmed I had an interview on the 24th and that my notice went out on the 4th in the mail...BTW I still havent received my letter yet.

  4. I had similar problem with Rogers for my cell... I ended up changing my plan to "emergency only" and its something like $8 plus tax a month so I will do that for the last few months on my contract instead of my reg $50 some dollar plan... maybe you can lower it to the lowest it can go as long as they dont make you do a whole new "contract"

Good luck, let us know what you decide to do.

  5. I guess I will be the first to post I take it all off. I have been having it done since I got here to North Bay. (4 yearsish) use to get it done 4 years before that when I was living in Arizona but then moved to Japan for 4 years and couldnt find anywhere to get it done)

The girl I go to is very quick. I did stop when I was about 6 months or so prego and then went back when the baby was a month old or so and it was pretty painful esp since it had been a while. I also get the eyebrows done... have done the threading when I was out of town and really like it.

  6. On the one hand its a good thing for us because we're getting a big discount on our wedding in Canada that we're planning... (well he is, not me) but on the other hand it sucks that my savings are really 25% less. I think I'll just keep my money in my CDN account until it goes back up (if it ever does).

Same here, we are thinking of leaving some of our money here in our Canadian acct because of how much we will loose off the exchange when we leave... I just hate paying the fees for them to hold our money for us while we just sit and wait... and not even earn much interest

  7. Glad you made it safe and sound! We have to drive from Northern Ontario to 30 min north of Salt Lake City at the end of April in 2 cars also with a 7 year old and 17 MONTH old, I am scared!! LOL

Wow that's great Rena - congratulations!

It's interesting, based on you mailing back your documents on January 4th - your DCF was not actually any faster than regular processing.

I was thinking the same thing, the only thing we cut out was the first part for the I 130 to be approved, maybe... And I did sit on the checklist before I sent it back...so there was a big time waster there...

I am just so glad things are falling into place.

  9. Nope I can't stay here longer, and I only have 3 weeks vacation and we only earn 2.5 days a month, so it will take a whle to earn more time if I use it all.

I am thinking we are just going to risk driving, and just buy him a plane ticket back to show he is coming back that he is just helping us get settled. Atleast we are only 5 hours from the border so if they do say no to him we can just turn around and go back. We wont have all our stuff. The movers will send our stuff, we'll just have our luggage to get us by until our household goods arrive.

Keeping my fingers crossed we will get an interview in April and not even have to worry about this.

    Thanks guys.

Also wouldnt this be no different than when somone goes to visit their spouse when they are wating for their interview date?

  10. So I just found out I have to leave here (Canada) by the last day of April. Atleast I need to sign out of the base, I can take annual leave, but I don't really want to "waste" vacation time waiting around here for an interview. So we are thinking of just leaving here and going down to Utah to get settled into the house we just bought and then either just my hubby or both of us flying back to Montreal for the interview.

I am just not sure what we can use as proof of him coming back... we know he has to come back for the interview and don't want to do anything illegal.... it's just that we planned on driving to Utah and I don't want to make that trip on my own with 2 kids.

    What do you guys think?

The hubbys last day of work is the 2nd of April so he wont have an "employer" to write a letter saying he needs to come back, but he will of course come back. I am still hopeful on getting an April interview, or May at the latest.

I hope someone has some encouraging advice.

    Thanks

    Rena

  11. The hubby is from Newfoundland but we currently live in North Bay Ontario!! Yay, lol

Minus 33 with the wind chill today!! OUCH!!

(My California blood doesnt like this cold)

  12. Thanks again TM.

I actually called again and got a different operator and she said we were good to go. I told her about my previous call and she said Travis was new... so hopefully things are on the right track.

Hopefully I will get an email response next week with good news.

    Rena

  13. Thanks TM

I just feel sick... am I missing something? I received my checklist from Montreal and sent it back after I got everything done, so I am confused on the packet 4 the guy was talking about.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks so much.

I just emailed them. Hopefully I get a response soon.

  14. I just called the 202-663-1225 and spoke with Travis...

He said we need to contact the Montreal consulate and see why the packet 4 hasnt been sent out yet. I am so confused. I thought we were just waiting for the interview date...My hands are shaking. I have to move by the end of May and was hoping we could all go together.

Anyone know who I contact/ or have a number for Montreal...

    Thanks guys

    Rena

  15. I got my interview!!

    March 18 :star:

    Thats great!!

What number did you call?? I called some number from the other thread and when I gave them our case number they said we are not in the system, so either I wrote our case number wrong or things are different for us since we are DCF...I'm not sure???

    Thanks

    Rena
