  1. I recently got approved and received my 10yr green card mid-January this year. I filed 1st wk of October, had my biometrics on 11/1/10. So the timeline from start of filing was 3 months total. I also filed at California Service Center and never had problems.

You should make a follow-up call. If they issue a letter stating that your application was approved, then you should receive your card any time. But 1 month of waiting just to receive the card seems too long.

I think there are 2 separate departments that takes care of sending out communications and production of green card. In my case, I received my card 2 week before I actually received the approval notice. It was funny in a way.

So maybe they messed up somewhere so you need to call them and find out.

    Good luck!

  2. I know it says to copy all the pages in the passport, but what if your passport has only been used once and the majority of the pages are blank? Do I still need to copy all of them or can I only copy a couple of blank ones and notate on the final copy that the rest of them are blank due to non-use?

Just to be on the safe side, make copies of all pages. That's what my husband did when he submitted the paperwork to USCIS. We didn't have RFE.

  3. Hi all hope everyone is well. Has been 2 years now since my love has been in the US. So have not checked in here for awhile now.

Have a burning question. Is your wifes middle name suppose to change when you get married? For example if Mary Ramos Vargas married John Smith should her name now become Mary Vargas Smith? In my opinion after marriage her name would be Mary Ramos Smith. Hope what I am asking is clear.

After I got married, I use my last name (when still single) as my current middle name, and that's the name I use in all legal documents I have. Haven't encountered any problems so far. The key, I think, is being consistent on what name to use, and reflect that on any legal document.

So my suggestion is to let her use "Mary Vargas Smith".

  4. My friends,

Where in the Philippines are you or your loved ones from? We'd be thrilled to know. Also, please provide a monicker or description of your town, city or province, if you could.

We'll start with myself. I am from Santa Cruz, a town just south of Davao City, and otherwise known as the Investors' Haven of Davao del Sur because of so many big enterprises with situs here. My fiance in Corona, California was born and raised in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, the Spanish colonial pueblo that was originally named La Ciudad Fernandina by our Castilian founders, in honor of King Ferdinand of Spain.

    How about you?

I'm from Dalaguete, Cebu, Philippines known as the "Vegetable Basket of the Visayas". I misssed my hometown so much! Can't wait to go there and spend few months of vacation!

  5. hello everyone, my fiance is coming soon , I just want to know if i could bring my fiance for my interview?

Are they going to allow him to enter the USEM? Anyone here brought their fiance during interview?

    Thanks.

It's an added bonus for the CO to see your fiance with you during the interview. Goodluck!

  6. Our chat logs and text messages are in tagalog.do we need translate them

    for my fiancees interview?

In my opinion, you don't need to as long as you have plenty of other evidences of communication & meeting aside from them. But in case they will ask for it, bring it along with you but no need to translate them.

  7. Hi guys, our interview went smooth for only 7 minutes. The interviewing officer is very very nice. She just confirmed or asked all the information stated or written in our AOS papers. And she asked any document that we have both name and we gave the joint bank account and medical health insurance. Last thing that she asked is the pictures in our wedding day . Thats all and she said okay guys, you are approved and she gave me a letter with her signature stating that I am approved and I will wait my conditional green card for 2 weeks. Thanks God.................

Congratulations Rose! I believe we had the same IO during our interview in Sac & I thanked God for that...

  8. We're about to file our AOS and im quite confused if i still need to get another vaccination here in USA.

Here are the lists of vaccines I had in St.Lukes in Philippines

    1. TDAP

    2.MMR

3.VARICELLA- i had 2 shots of varicella vaccine the first one i got it 1 yr ago and other one before my interview that was in july 2008

You are required to get your TD shot & another shot of MMR & varicella & have it transcribed to I-693.

  9. i went to my interview today at 10:15 then sat and wait for like 20 mins. then my name called my wife and i went in her office.she ask my date of birth my parents name and how long we are together and ask us for the original documents like birth certificate naturalization paper and ask for my wife's w2 form we didn't have it at the time so she said she need the form and gave us untill 3:00pm to come back but before we left she let us sign a paper for the conditional status and told us to bring additional proof that we live at the same location even though she photocopied our drivers licsence which had the same address on them.So we rushed home and got the W2 form and we printed off emails from 3 years before and telephone records and photocopy bills that were mailed to our address my car insurance with my wife's name on it .So we went back to the office and gave her every thing. She said wow thanks skip through some pages and said i am going to review the information and that was it but aren't i suppose to get a stamp in my passport?cause she said my green card would be mailed to our address within 3 weeks. Why no stamp?

Don't worry about the stamp. If you are approved, you will get your green card in the mail 2 weeks later. I did not get the stamp either but I got my green card 11 days after the interview. Check my timeline...

  10. I like the old flag as it is & to my opinion there's no need to change how it looks no matter how "noble" the intention is. The Philippines has been going thru very difficult times and the people are hoping that somehow the economy will get better. I believe that Senate should write a more useful bill that will solve issues for the masses such as increasing more food supplies, better employment opportunities, help programs to improve the life of Filipinos, etc. instead of spending time and fortune on this bill.
