Did anyone here actually send out a I-129F prior to asking or getting asked by thier significant other to marry them. That seems strange and even stranger when you think that two people have to have that conversation... "well if you ask me one day to marry or if I ask you lets fill out this paperwork so things will be quicker" who does that?
Come to think of it, i think i saw one signature timeline where the date of I-129F filing was so much earlier than the date of proposal... which means he filed for petition before asking his girl to marry him... well, it turned out, the foreign fiancee ended up canceling her embassy interview.

Do any of you ever wonder how it is that you are in the position that you are at the mercy of your Government regarding your marriage? Maybe if everyone had to go through a similar process our divorce rate wouldn't be so high.
As most people have said in the previous post, it has been our choice from the start. And as my guy always say, every hardship we've gone through and still going through, all the loneliness and separation will be all worth it in the end.
This separation and nerve-wracking waiting for visa is simply strengthening our LOVE and COMMITMENT for each other! We're almost 3 years in this long distance relationship, what is another 6-9 months waiting compared to the PROMISE OF A LIFETIME!
As the saying goes: How can you truly appreciate happiness when you have never experienced sadness and loneliness!

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
Current Status: Approval notice sent
WOOHOOO!
Considering my NOA1 was 11/13 I'm thinking this is pretty speedy.
We're one step closer!
CONGRATS!!! That's really fast!
... hope they'd be as fast with our application also.
Good luck on your upcoming medical and interview.

Why is this shocking? Age difference does not define a relationship.Nah, not shocking at all. Well, I'm not shocked anyway. Not shocked at all here
BTW there's plenty of couples on VJ who actually have a greater/more shocking (to use the OP's words) age difference than these 2...
I'm not shocked either. And i agree to the post "age difference DO NOT define a relationship! Not at all

yes she has her sonogram today actually, but don't say no pork. mad that is about all she eats. not much on beef but she loves the pork esp the crispy skin. ill pass it along to her. we both hope it is nothing, as most lumps are
i could empathize with that, heck, i'm a true blooded filipina, lover of lechon, chicharon (pork skin) and humba(a delicacy in davao where the most delicious part is the FATS).. and i also love bulalo and crispy chicken skin and anything deep fried.... I'm telling you, i was practically bargaining with the doctor about those NO NO foods..
.. but in the end, it is still a question on whether i value my health and my life more or those foods... i'm not religiously following Docs advise (its awfully hard when you are surrounded by meat eating and deep fried loving people) but i am trying... well, at least even a little bit

3. the CRBA would have to be done ater the birth of the child. http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwha003.html
since you are not married to the father, I do not believe the child could have the father's last name. under Philippine Family Law, the child would have your last name.
as suggested by pushbrk, I would also post your questions in the Philippine Forum. you should get more answers to your question there.
the family code has been amended on July 28, 2003 under RA 9255 thereby giving illegitimate children the right to use their father's surname. pls click HERE to read the full provision of the family code amendment.

Hello All,
Four weeks have now gone by since my fiancee's interview at USE Manila, for K-1 Visa. I flew to the Philippines from NY to be with her and went to the interview with her. The Consul told us that everything looked good, however, document(s) needed to be verified (wouldn't tell us what document(s)) and it would take 2-3 weeks to do. I paid DELBROS P650 for this procedure and another P165 delivery fee for when the Visa is issued. When I asked the girl at DELBROS how long it would take, she said 6 weeks. Both my fiancee and I have called the Visa Call Ctr to try and get some updates on this matter, all we get from whoever we speak to is "It is still being processed." I have both my lawyer & Congresswoman trying to get some info. however, they get the same answer. My last call was this past Friday (Feb. 1) and I was told that it normally takes 6 weeks from the time of the interview and if we didn't hear from the USE by Feb. 15 to call back on Feb. 18 and they will begin a follw-up. Can someone give me a phone number for the USE in Manila that I can call to see if I can get any information from them? This waiting and not knowing what is happening is very frustrating for the both of us. We want this matter to be cleared up as soon as possible so that she can join me here in NY and we can get married. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Pls repost this on regional forum: philippines... there's more people there who can explain everything about document verification in the philippines.

My fiancée found a small lump in her breast. she has gone to her doctor and they have determined it is just a benign cyst. will this throw up and issues at the SLEC exam? should she have it excised in advance to avoid any delays, or issues?
This is the very thing that has been bugging me more than anything else. I've already consulted a surgeon last year and was told that it is probably benign but I was told to undergo sonomammogram to check if it needs to be removed or they could just extract a liquid sample for biopsy. That was april of last year, until now i have put off getting that sonomammogram, but i am definitely going for it 1 week after my monthly period this month (it is normal to have lumps 1 week before and after menstruation so checking should be done 1 week after that).
Advice given by surgeon was: cut off on oil as much as possible; no chicken skin; pork should be once a month small serving; i could have beef once a week but no beef fat, including that yummylicious part of bulalo
; lessen or eliminate MSG; yearly medical check up and when i reach 40, i should have mammogram every year there after.
I know it is not contagious and it will not interfere with my getting a visa but when you have this thing, it just scares you off.

Be yourself. Know the basics about your man (his Mom's maiden name, just to be sure
). Prayers do help.
And be presentable but don't ever wear heels!
Good luck & God bless.
why are heels no, no?

3rd valentines in a row, we will be spending it chatting on yahoo, complete with webcam, and drinking bottle of wine.. he'd have his own on the other side of the world and i'll have mine here in P.I....
.. last year, we didn't notice we had drank up the wine up to the last drop
.... im pretty sure he'd be sending me a dozen roses and a box of chocolate again.. i just hope island roses would at least improve the quality of their flowers.
i envy you guys, you'd get to spend valentines with the love of your life... i wish and pray our visa journey would soon be over so i could snuggle up to him valentines or not.

i guess there are just 1 or 2 of us left for january filers that have not received NOA1, there is no sign also that they have cashed our cheque yet.
checking your signature timelines, it seems to me that CSC moves faster in cashing cheques than VSC and even faster in handing out NOA1s.
Oh, VSC cash our cheque now and send us our NOA1. I'm itching to create our account on uscis case status service online.
I guess more and more of us here are becoming more OC as days go by
Don't I know it...I keep checking my bank online to see if the check has been cashed (last count was 5 times today)...
Dawn
You were only one day ahead of us in filing and we are also with the same service center: VSC!
... i guess you are already including us in your checking, i would assume, we wont get cashed unless they cashed in your check and we won't get NOA1 unless you have received your NOA1 also
Hope we do get that NOA1 soonest... and hope NOA2 won't be so far ahead also.
At least you'd be seeing your guy next month, with or without NOA1&2. Lucky you!.. Me, i won't be seeing my man till after my interview (he'll be coming here to pick us up--i refused to go to the US unless he comes here to get us) and i still don't know when that would be. I just miss him so bad! the shirt he left has lost his smell already.
... yes, im using the shirt he wore on our last day together as my pillow case so i could still smell him and pretend to be hugging him at night
. (Don't ask how many months has passed without washing the shirt, it is still unwashed up to now
)

Good luck to all of you december filers... I hope and pray you'd all get your NOA2 soonest coz we're (january filers) just right behind you guy
-
does anyone know if there is a january filers topic
yes there is january filers thread and it's HERE
-

Give it at least a few weeks. You only submitted a few days ago, and they do tend to take a little time in getting them cashed. Then you can start to *really* wait.
i guess i sound like an impatient brat... i'll admit patience has never been my strongest virtue

Psalms 33:18
But the eyes of the LORD are on those
who fear him, on those whose hope is in
His unfailing love,
Isaiah 54:10
Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,"
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wing's as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Keep your unwavering faith in God. I am holding you in my prayers.

I guess we're the last one to jump in for January... there's not even update on usps online tracking so, I would assume our application has not reach VSC yet:(... but I'm letting God take full control of everything.
As for evidence... ours was a bit overkill
: passport stamps, boarding passes, airline tickets, hotel receipts, 30+ photos, couple of emails, chat logs, pages of our wedding website, pages of our photosharing site, receipt, delivery notification and photo of our personalized guest signature platter, my authenticated birth certificate, birth certificate of my kids, certificate of no marriage from our national statistics office, his divorce decrees, his birth certificate, and truck loads of prayers.
Some of it are not really required but we just put it in.

I'm confused also!
How can her K3 expire Feb 22 when she had interview Jan 9 08 and how did she get a K3 or any visa before final medical approval?
Our K3 (NOA2 129f) approval notice was valid from 10/23/07 to 02/22/08, interview was suppose to be January 9, 2008. Interview was postponed due to something in the x-ray at medical and had to undergo the sputum test, so the K3 noa2 approval will not be valid in a couple weeks. Medical failed, so interview,, no visa.
I don't know how else to explain it.
I guess our journey will take a new path. in the wrong direction. I assume I will have to go back to USCIS and have our I-130 transfered to NVC and pursue the CR1 while waiting for the treatment to be finished. I will appreciate any info or help from anyone as to what we need to do from here. This has truly been an unexpected twist to our journey to be together.
Pls check this links:
The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval from USCIS. Consular officers can extend the validity of the petition (revalidate the petition) if it expires before the processing of the visa application is completed.
Reinstatement of Visa ApplicationsCan visa applications be reinstated?
A Notice of Termination of Registration is sent if, after one year, the beneficiary fails to:
1. apply for an immigrant visa despite official notification from the National Visa Center or the Embassy to apply or respond to Packet 3;
2. show up for the visa interview without any prior written advise; or
3. take further action on his/her visa application that had been refused under INA 221(g) or due to lack of documentation.
Beneficiaries, however, may request reinstatement of their immigrant visa applications if, within a year of the termination notice, they are able to satisfactorily explain that their failure to pursue the application was for reasons beyond their control. Otherwise, visa applications will continue to be subject to cancellation procedures in accordance to U.S. immigration laws and regulations.
I guess your case do fall under 'reason beyond your control'... try calling NVC or USEM for the process on how to reinstate visa application.
I will have you both in my prayers. May God be your stronghold in these times of distress.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds ... Great is our Lord, and mighty in power ..." (Psalm 147:3)

The application was delivered to VSC at 12:31 PM (I told you I was obsessive...)...now begins the waiting game for the NOA1 and the ceremonious cashing of the check!!!
You are not alone
.. been checking and rechecking usps.com for any update on our shipment. Who wouldn't be OC, our future happiness is contained on those papers: the I-129F file, NOA1, NOA2,etc.
good luck to us... God be with us all.

prayers helped me a lot. chat with people around you to help you relax. get a good night's rest. as to information about your SO, know it by heart. there's less chance you'd get rattled during the interview if you do. i only wore my regular office attire to the interview. but as has been mentioned, wear what you're most comfortable in, as you would exude more confidence if you do.
let me share the Memo i saw tacked on my COs corkboard, i cant quote it verbatim, but here goes:
Do not deny unnecessarily. Look for:
1. Identity;
2. Relationship;
3. Eligibility/Authenticity (i'm not certain which is which between these 2)
i think knowing that these are the guidelines they use, would help everyone prepare for their respective interviews.
Goodluck everyone and God bless!
lani
WOW! Those items sure speak a lot! This is great and very reassuring info. Thanks for sharing this. Everyone who is in genuine relationship will surely pass these 3 guidelines.... pending of course, medical problems and other things beyond our control.

We've just RE-STARTED our visa journey.. re-started in the sense that we just changed focus from an 8-8-08 beach wedding here in the Philippines which would have qualified us for the I-130/k3 visa... golly! 6 months (july-1st week of jan.) of wedding preparations and nonrefundable deposits on local wedding vendors down the drain.
Since we just submitted I-129F on January 29, interview is still so far down the road, but i will surely take all your advise to heart:)... heck, i might even start doing yoga as early as now. I don't have problem with infos about my guy, I believe our pre-marriage preparations (quizzing and grilling each other using online pre-marriage preparation tools) since we were engaged june last year will surely come in handy... but of course, i will surely have a body spa a day before the interview.
..
As for prayers, that has been a major part of our relationship long before... Everything is in His hands.
thanks for all the wonderful interview tips.. Congrats to all who have passed it and good luck to those who will be having it soon!!!
I'm denied :((
