I am counting down the days...literally...I leave to see Aidan on Valentine's Day but only for a long weekend. I work as a tax accountant and had to BEG for these days off.
I'm in Bogota now with Bella.. Will be here for another 6 days, then I go to San Andres to take care of some things for my business there..are you guys seeing your loves anytime soon?I won't be seeing Rick again till August when he comes here to accompany us back to US (i'm keeping a positive mind that we will have the visa on hand before August).
I'm so jealous of you joe for being with bella now and to ashley for having a long weekend with your SO.. i wish i could have even one day with Rick right now.
Well, I just console myself by thinking August is not really too far away and that this would be our last valentines day apart.

It seems some people are getting felt up quite a bit, while others, like myself, have received just one touch. So enjoy the attention.
It has been a long time since I've seen my SO, so any touch would be welcome!!
Last saw him (not counting webcam chat) 7months ago so I could say, I know what you mean!

Hey dbears, you and I got our NOA1's on the same day, perhaps we should start a pool to see which one loses it first.
I don't think there is any need to worry about an RFE at this point, and probably not for a couple of months. Unless, of course, some critical forms are missing.... but don't worry. B) It seems some people are getting felt up quite a bit, while others, like myself, have received just one touch. So enjoy the attention.
It has been a long time since I've seen my SO, so any touch would be welcome!!
I hope you are right in June interviews, although I'd take July/August interview and count myself blessed. This is an amazing process, and its really just starting. I just wish CSC would've kept up the pace these last two days.... back to work!
Hmm, I think you got your NOA1 on the day we submitted our I-129F.

Still will probably be quicker than any of us in getting our interviews...
VSC is already working on some November filers... there are some october filers who have interview scheds already... so we are not so far behind... VSC January filers would probably start getting NOA2 by April -- as long as there are no RFE--... We would have our interview by June also. AND NO RFE FOR ALL JANUARY FILERS!!! Let's keep the faith.
-
We've been touched twice the last 2 days.. I am trying to keep a positive mind about this touches.. though at the back of my mind there is this little, tiny-weeny voice nagging me they are deliberating whether they need to send RFE or not
... I've seen people here getting approved really fast without seeing any touches before the approval.
Well, I'd rather not see touches until the day they approve us (maybe I should stop checking USCIS site daily?-- but i can't do it, it's a habit already
-- see, this journey is turning me into a looney, it's not even one month yet
)... Oh, well, they probably just want to check and recheck our cute pics

Cuba's a special case since we do not have an embassy there - the Swiss embassy serves as charge-de-affairs in Cuba. I've read about other Cuban citizens being processed here and all have worked outside the normal timelines.
Maybe the Cuban fiance is currently in Switzerland?
Check this out: Zulima & Yanzel TimelineWell, I do remember reading that a US - Cuban couple was approved 1 week after they sent their petition at the beginning of Junuary. Apparently, when you're from Cuba that goes a lot faster! Maybe the second couple was from Cuba too ?Sent I-129F: 1/3/2008; NOA1: 1/12/2008; NOA2: 1/14/2008; Interview date: 6/9/2008
Sent I-129F: 1/11/2008; NOA1: 1/15/2008; NOA2: 1/22/2008
Country is Cuba but consulate is Switzerland (why switzerland???-- i guess i need to brush up on my geography
)... So it's true, they did get their NOA2 really fast!!!..... well, it takes them a long time to get interview schedule so I guess that evens out.. we would probably have the same interview date as them or maybe, even earlier
Anyway, yes I hope we will have an interview date as "early" as theirs!! that would be great!
Please people in CSC, continue to approve 30 petitions (or more!) each week!!!
That explains it
. I'm learning new things, thank you.
Does that mean they would need to vie for interview schedule with people from switzerland or other countries that don't have embassy also? Coz if you'd look at the first couple, their interview date is 5months after the NOA2.. that is awfully long (though, at least they do have interview schedule already)

I need to vent....
I haven't been on here in a bit... everything just going along smoothly and I had no updates to share. But now I'm just plain frustrated and I'm looking for some ideas.
Last Wednesday I shipped all my documents to my fiance for his interview. I made copies everything before shipping it off. I sent him originals of my boarding passes, birth certificate, receipts of when I was in India visiting last, bank letter, employer letter, pay stubs, w-2's etc.
Well... the box is now officially lost! I mailed it through the United States Postal Service Global Express Guaranteed (via Fed Ex). The post office knows they accpted the package from me, but has no idea what happened to it. Fed Ex has no account of receiving the package.
My fiance's interview is not until April, but I don't know how to get some of the originals (i.e. pay stubs, w-2's, boarding passes and receipts).
I feel like just sitting down and crying. I feel like this process has taken a long time already and has so many hiccups.
Anyone with advice?
We have a lawyer that hasn't been worth his salt. He went crazy when I told him that I sent him originals. I had to point out to him that the packet 4 asked us for them.
sorry guys.... something wacky was going on with my computer. And now I don't know how to delete my multiple posts.
I wonder if it would have made a difference if you sent it directly via FEDEX without passing through USPS... USPS is good if within the US soil but once it leaves US you really don't know how sucked up postal services are in other countries (like the Philippines-- our postal service here is just... SIGH).
When would the transfer from USPS to FEDEX supposedly occur.. still within the US or when the mail get's to your SO's country? If the transfer would happen when the mail gets to your SO's country, well.. i'll just hope they are not like the postal service here coz here they would let it sit in their mail room for a couple of weeks first before sending it out (in your case, transferring it)
I'll pray you get good news soonest.

Hi! I got here in US through k1 fiance visa. During the day of our marriage he almost got killed me in the car. Then he told me that he just needed me here to become his housemaid and if i dont want to,he told me to go back to Philippines. After that event, things have changed. He always yell at me and blame me for a miserable life. I cannot just call a police because he warned me already that if i will call a police He dont know what he can do to me.I am scared. Then last night and several times he told me to choose between: to go back home or to wait for the greencard then he will divorce me. What kind of husband is he?Just because i told him that he will be the one to wash the dishes he used,he wants me to choose between those two options..Please do help.we didnt file adjustment of status yet,but it is set on friday which i dont know if he wants to or not. What will i do?
This is just horrible:(... I hope you would seek help fast. Abusers use threats to paralyze their victims but posting your situation is already an act of courage so, pls do muster all your strength and courage to call that number that Mox gave before its too late. And I agree with Mox, just worry about the other things after.... just secure your safety first.
God be with you always.

I applied on July 27th and got Noa 1 on August 7th. Since then, no answer. Nothing. I have no idea what is going on. I have nothing to be suspecious. No criminal record, educated, no previous marriage, no kids, no overstay, no unauthorized working experience. I met my fiance when I was an exchange student while I was high school. Then, I got together with him seriously when I went to college. We went to the same two year college, and transfered to different university, but just 15 min away, so we lived together. After I graduated, I went back Japan to get some working and social experience. and finally my family understood me and we decided to send application. We have been together for almost 7 years, the immigration could be wonder why we did not marry, but we were students and no income or no foundation to marry. Now, he got a career and works fulltime, and have decent income to marry me. And I completed my degree and now I work and save money to marry. I have no idea what else they want us to explain. He even came to Japan in Sept 2007 and stayed with my family for one week. We sent tons of evidence. Ahhhh I cannot stand it.
Just hang in there. You'll get your NOA2 soon... Just keep the faith!!!!

Congra to you two. Found out by email got NOA2 on Feb 4th also. Got the hard copy in the mail on Feb 8. So we make close to getting thing done about the same time. Good Luck and God bless.
Congrats! we almost have the same timelines. my fiance and i also passed our docs to CSC last September. My fiance recently got a hardcopy notice from CSC that our application has been approved last Feb 5, 2008. Good luck to us!! Will be praying for you!!I am so happy to report that we are APPROVED today. What is the next step and how long are interviews now taking? I am hoping for something in late March early April. I am wondering from people that had recent interviews, what paperwork the USC sent to the PI fiance? Thanks for your help. And congrats to all and good luck to the rest. This is an amazing feeling to have the approval.
BIG CONGRATS TO YOU GUYS!!!! and Good Luck on your next steps!!!
