  1. Ok so my fiancé was approved at the Kingston embassy on AUG. 30th. Today is 90 days of waiting for them to process the last papers they requested. Who do we contact to get this thing rolling? We have our wedding date for Fed 1st. a lot is riding on this getting complete. Does anyone have a template on what to send to a senate member?! Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You.

im sorry i dont have what i sent, but it was VERY short.. maybe 3 sentences just explaining to them our dilemma, giving case numbers, dates etc. and asking for assistance.

My senator sent me a letter stating that the embassy has no timeframe for AP and that he was assured it would be completed in a timely manner HOWEVER a few days later I received word from embassy to have my stepson bring his passport in to get the visa issued..

so it may seem like it wont help, but it will get somebody moving if your case has just been forgotten like i believe mine was

  2. Mikey i think you have gotten some good ideas here of asking family to write up something..had he ever sent money to you.. Western Union keeps transaction history. if he ever filled out any paperwork as your guardian.. praying you can come up with something that will be good enough for them.

glad your able to stay positive and disregard the negative comments.. smh.. crazy how easy it is for others to pass judgement, but stay encouraged....

    God Bless

  3. Congratulations! Can I ask a question? My fiance was switched to "issued" but my stepson still says "administrative processing" Can you explain what happened with your stepson? Was his mother just keeping the passport and that ws the issue or something else? I want to stay on top of it!

unfortunately they had two different caseworkers. one caseworker requested evidence that my husband and i lived together which we emailed to them that afternoon after the interview.. but it was put into administrative processing all this time (90 days). they wouldnt take the passport, they told her they would request it from her when they were ready.. there was no other infor requested or relayed in those 90 days.. its just one of those cases that fall between the cracks in AP im assuming..

my oldest stepson (different mothers) had a very nice caseworker who approved the case that day and visa issued shortly after.. same info, different outcomes???

Morning - on behalf of myself and my wife I would like to congratulate you and wish for you and your family all the best in your future endeavors and also God's continued blessings - our case was last updated on the 20th of November - it's now officially 78 days since we have been waiting and we hope that our wait will be over soon, it will be such an exciting day for us when our visa is issued and we are praying that we will be together for thanksgiving as its a time for family to sit and share with each other - congrats again.

i do hope and pray that your case is resolved soon.. i think the fact that they keep touching it means they will do something soon.. it just is so frustrating waiting for no real reason.. i pray you get to enjoy Thanksgiving with your fam..

  4. FINNALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

done with administratvie processing.. ceac says visa was issued today.. 90 days after interview.. my oldest stepson got his visa right after the interview so we have been in limbo wondering what was going on.. smh.. now that we are so close to the dec break, we are looking to have them come at that time.. just glad this is over finally.. thank you JESUS

  5. to Sherrywal and Jerrywal and whoever else who has been keeping up.. WE finaly got the ISSUED update for my second stepson's case this afternoon.. on October 23rd after I requested a Senator review our case, my stepsons mother was sent a letter to send passport.. Still nothing until I emailed them on Monday, then here we are on Thursday they have issued the visa.. 90 days after his interview.. Praise be to JESUS for giving us patience thru this process..

  6. OP I am sorry you feel pulled apart and picked on,. This process will make a lioness eat her own young I swear. Just hang in there. It will all be settled and you home with your daughter soonest.

For others who may face this (people do reference these topics ya know lets make them useful people). The best thing to do in these situations with NVC is to get a supervisor on the phone (Mr. Gus is the best trust me).

NVC loses documents, makes hairbrain stupid mistakes. Ask for same stuff twice. Checklist the checklist without knowing what the heck they even want.

One thing you all need to know is NVC has a 2 month window to deal with our document intake and after that point they will waive you along and send you to embassy (of you ask) and have embassy deal with missing documents and missing information.

You have to ask if you can present documents at interview. Reat easy letter.

I submitted only the DS-230 an marriage certificate to NVC and Mr Gus gave me the heads up how to write the letter to present at interview. It was so cool.

Just thought I would pass on.

so true dwheels76!! LOL NVC was the most frustrating part of this for my oldest step son.. I had a sup even agree that it was ridiculous for them to be asking for something that they had never asked for previously?? but it was nothing she could do..

nobody is asking for special rules.. but if a form gets through one worker without incident then it should get thru the second one as well.. im sure 6 checklists ago the OP's daughter was not putting N/A on the residence field (which i did not either) why is it just being flagged now?? ..it is something that could have been settled on the first few checklists rhey sent out.. smh... INCONSISTENT.. but a so ie go..

  7. All one has to do is read and follow their instructions....if one does not comply fully with their request(s), expect more RFEs....

so you have never seen where information that was already sent in was requested again because it was later found out to be overlooked?? i have to myself as well as others on here.. so all the reading and following directions can still find you with an RFE.. your statement is incorrect..

i do understand peoples need to rationalize situations that are out of their control, but its not helpful to try and act like petitioners make all the mistakes here and the GOVERNMENT makes none..and this statement comes from a government worker.. LOL..

like the original poster i think i will leave this alone.. no sense beating a dead horse.. have a good day

  8. To the original poster... none of the responders will understand until they actually have gone through such a situation.. I would never have thought that two petitions requiring the EXACT same info and turned in together could have one approved and the other gets a checklist.. BUT IT HAPPENED TO ME.. Im sure if anyone has been on visajourney long enough they have seen a few other mistakes and mishaps here and there made by all of the areas of the immigration process??? no maybe its not victimizing but they are surely inconsistent at times guys?? .. the one thing thats painfully true is that we do have to do what they ask to get our loved ones here no matter how wrong it is.. sorry you were not able to get much understanding and encouragement here.. good luck on your journey..

  9. I am now totally convinced that our family is being victimized by NVC and I have arrived a this conclusion based on the following. In October my visa petition was approved by NVC, however, it was approved with this caveat “one or more related cases are still awaiting additional documentation. As we attempt to schedule all related cases tougher, we will hold this case for up to sixty days. I your other case(s) are not completed in this time, this case will continue with the interview process” It should that the case being referred to is my wife's petition. Since the approval of my petition we have received numerous checklist from NVC relating to my wife's petition and every time we comply they find a reason to generate a new checklist and every one they send us set was back by 30 working days (was previously 20 working days) the last checklist they sent was based on the following:

    General Instructions

[x] You will need to complete and submit the new form completely filled out (all pages required), which includes the changes noted below. Submitting single pages of the form with the correction is not acceptable. In order to make corrections you will need to download a new form at www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov

Part 1 Information on the Household Member

[x] This section is incomplete. Please answer all questions completely. (If N/A, please indicated in the appropriate space).

Note, this checklist was not generated for the omission of critical or vital information but for not placing N/A in an section of the I-864A form that is not relevant i.e. Part1-Item3 Place of Residence (if different mailing address). Ergo, we are now totally convinced that we are being victimized by NVC due to the fact that we have expressed to them (via e-mail) on several occasions our concern with how my wife’s visa petition is being treated. If there was a way of recovering all the monies that we have spent on this process I would cancel the entire process and use our B1/B2 visa to visit our family in the US. i am again suggesting that an oversight body analogous to that of the USCIS Ombudsman needs to be established for the NVC where persons can obtain justice and fairplay and not be subjected to insults and injustice.

i feel your pain, same exact thing happened to us.; i am filing for my two step sons. youngest stepson was approved at NVC immediately.. oldest stepson went through at least 6 checklists over the course 8 months before he was approved. Surprisingly, the youngest son did move on and had his appt at the embassy in august however he is still in AP.. The oldest son didnt get his interview till oct and already has his visa.. smh.. cant do much but laugh...good luck to you

  10. Need my husband and my baby...mine status updated Oct 31, Nov 1, Nov 7 for my husband for my daughter last update was Nov 6, she is follow to join, I hope I will have some great news soon..

i think the recent updates are a good sign.. my last update was 10/23/2013.. I had contacted my Senator on the 22nd. I didnt think it did any good BUT my stepson received a letter requesting to send his passport to the embassy!! ( they didnt keep it ughhh) so i think we might be on our way.. did they keep his passport?

  11. OK,

I got an email today from NVC checklist for my AOS form I-864EZ Part5, No. 19. Most recent tax return.

    Here's the highlist:

_______income indicated on the I-864EZ Part 19 does not correspond to that shown on the most recent

    tax return and W-2(s).

I filed jointly with my hubby and using only my own income since my income qualified to petition one person.

Now what I put on Part 5, no. 19 on most recent was the number on my W2 2012.

Should I put the total amount from ITR 2012 including my huband 's income?

I didn't put the total in our ITR 2013 since I am only using my own income so I put only my income on what is listed on W2.

Which one should I put the one in W2 2012 or the total on the ITR of 2012? which includes the income of my husband?

    Please help me!

if this is the question that asks for TOTAL income.. then yes they do want the entire amount for both you and your hubb.. i messed up on that quesiton too and it was a big mess figuring out what they wanted because we filed jointly as well

  12. I am a USC married to a filipina since 2010. I filed I-130's for three of my stepchildren in March 2013. They were all under 18 when we married and one turns 21 in November 2013. I noticed last week on the USCIS website that the type of VISA I petitioned for is being handled in Vermont and they are working on OCT 2012 cases now. I thought I would be at the NVC level by now and perhaps have their VISA's by christmas. I called USCIS and spoke to someone who told me to just wait for notification. He also told me I need not worry about my 20 year old ageing out. Looking at a few other timelines here on VJ it appears to me that my case is takeing a while longer then others. Am I just paranoid or am I correct? Does anyone have any tips on how to speed up my process?

    Thanks,

    Don

it does seem wierd that you havent at least gotten to NVC yet? were there any RFE's? perhaps they have slowed down? ive seen ppl take 9 mnths and then others 15 mnths.. if you have already called, i dont know much else that you can do? sorry, maybe someone else will have an alternative..

  13. Thank you guys, anyway, 2 weeks to go and its my sons interview, I already book my ticket going to the philippines so i can go with him on his interview, now my question is for the parents here thats already been through with the interview?

What documents i need to bring??

    Thanks

we didnt go, so we sent copies of the affidavit of support, copies of tax returns, copy of marriage license, pics of my husband and stepchildren together, childrens bc.. ive seen ppl send less but we didnt want to risk the chance of NVC not sending something to the embassy or the chance of a DNA test.

we were later requested proof that my husband and i live together (utility bills, car ins, etc) not sure if your embassy will be this picky but we would advise anyone going thru Jamaica to do so, because i have seen it delay others in addition to myself.

  14. There isn't much that could be done.... other than drive yourself insane. I am advocate for congressional intervention. I mean all they could do is submit an inquiry on your behalf. If you application is truely done with AP and waiting for final processing then the inquiry could prompt your application to be moved along. Our congress office submitted an inquiry via NVC, which at first I thought was weird but then remembered reading that NVC would do some preliminary checks (i.e if name came up in terror databases)-just my theory but it made sense to me.

I'm sure alot has to do with all the process changes and government issues. Not exactly what anyone wants to hear. If you haven't tried using congress/senator, i would give it a shot...you never know.

I agree, send a request to your senator!!.. i did on monday and have seen movement yesterday and today.. not sure if thats just a coincedence or not..

either way.. im gald they are doing something after 10 weeks, staying in AP this long is not making any sense to me at all ESP for a 10 year old child!!!. my other stepchild has his visa already?? why would it take 10 weeks to clear us with the same information??

heres to hoping they are clearing us ppl that they have seemed to forgotten about soon.. BLESSINGS

  15. JUst vent and update:

This is our 10th week waiting on one of my stepsons visa.. My oldest was approved at the interview and issued visa in 10 days.. I know every IO had different timeframes and work ethic BUT this seems ridiculous.. i emailed after which i see they update my status but still no change..

Yesterday i emailed my senator, and today i see it now has todays date as "last status change" but still no change.. sigghhhh, Not sure if somebody at least picked up our file because of my email or not, but hoping i will see something this week..

  16. Our visa was issued today! Thank God!!! So I pretty much believe we were in AP for 7 weeks for no reason. It seemed as if all cases around my case number was not moving at all. I sent an email yesterday to pretty much every email address I could find in the embassy around the IV units responsiveness to inquiriess. After that email I received a response that my visa would be issued shortly. It was issued today. I have also been keeping a spreadsheet of all cases up to 19 days before my date and up to 24 days after my case date. What I noticed is that there was movement in the days after my case number but the days before my case had no movement for a while, except for yesterday. There was significant progress made with case numbers KNG2013650XXX to KNG2013690XXX specifically with the NIV cases. If your number case number is somewhere within that batch I think they are working through them now.

Clearly, my days have been consumed with trying to figure out what the hell is going on with the KNG embassy but I am glad that this part is finally over! Baby love will be here as soon as physically possible.

congrats!!!! so happy your family will be together now..

if you dont mind, what other emails did you use besides the kingstoniv one?

i am 9 weeks in AP for no reason because my 2nd stepson was approved and has his visa already while the first one remains in AP????

any direction you can offer would be appreciated.. i really think this is one that has slipped through the cracks

  17. glad everyone is moving in the posiy direction it seems....finally got my kids home...i can finally breathe now. now waiting on gc and ssn and can be DONE!!!

that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the update.. i know ur glad for this to be over.. what are your plans? are they gonna be enrolled into school right away? The after is the most exciting part!!!! ENJOY your babies being with you finally and be blessed!!!

  18. I always input the case number in every mail that I send to them - and as usual its a standard response - my wife called DOS and all the lady said was the case looks good but you will have to contact the Kingston embassy, she told her the embassy just respond with default emails ...DOS cannot help so I am wondering if someone has a number to call Kingston where we can actually speak to someone in the consulate (immigrant section)

Oh im sorry, i thought you said you had NO response

I found the kingston number on here somewhere, put kingston embassy in the seach engine on here and you might find it.. but they directed me to email anyways.. I asked could i speak to anyone by phone and they said no..
